    I always end up tying a knot cuz I'm afraid it'll come undone

    Thank you SO much I used to just tie a knot at the end and it looked messy

    Every time I do this, the end comes untucked and peeks out. 😞

      Use a longer tail. I generally use about a 6-8" tail and weave in both directions, as the project allows.

    As a new crocheter, I found this very
    helpful; I'm still in the dishcloth stage so still learning a little here and there. I looked for your video showing how to weave in the ends when you have multiple colors, but couldn't find it. Did you find time to make a video showing this, and if so, could you please tell me the title of the video or give a link for it? Thanks so much!

      I'm so sorry. I got distracted with other videos and neglected to do that one. I do have one on how to change colors here (join new yarn) - studio.ruclips.net/user/video-JDC5L7Jwhs/ and you can weave in different colors pretty much the same way I did in this video if there are BLOCKS of color, but if you're doing thin stripes or you just don't want to mess with the tails later, then it's better to weave them in as you go. Here is a good example from another channel - ruclips.net/video/3GZozjoAQS8/видео.html I will have to get to doing one myself after the new year!

    I feel like this common technique would still unravel. I'm sorta new to knitting on 5th project. I knotted 1 end on a pillow just to be sure but that would look unsightly on a blanket

    • @KnotsKneedles
      @KnotsKneedles  4 года назад +4

      In a blanket, I think I would just use a longer tail and weave it in one direction, going with the flow of stitches in the blanket.

    Any time I tie off it comes undone. Is there a particular knot other than weaving ends to secure it?

    • @KnotsKneedles
      @KnotsKneedles  5 лет назад

      It should secure fairly well when you fasten off using the method in the video, but you need to weave in the ends afterwards to fully secure it.

    What yarn are you using here? I like the looks of the blend.

    • @KnotsKneedles
      @KnotsKneedles  4 года назад +1

      Good question. It's been so long, I don't really remember. I think it was a wool yarn that I had ordered online, and I used to order from KnitPicks, if that helps at all. I don't have any left, so unfortunately, I can't be of much help.

      It actually looks like a blend that I am currently using. Wool-Ease in Wheat by Lion Brand Yarn. www.lionbrand.com/wool-ease-yarn.html

    what happens if you only have like two inched or so left of the tail?

    • @KnotsKneedles
      @KnotsKneedles  4 года назад +2

      That's not much to work with and will make it difficult to thread through the needle and weave in. Instead, try weaving the needle into your work FIRST, leaving the eye of the needle poking out where your tail is, THEN thread the yarn into the eye of the needle (but don't pull the thread all the way through the eye - just barely thread it in). Now, pull the needle and thread all the way through. If this doesn't work, then just try and knot it somewhere securely that doesn't show too much. I never recommend knotting, but in this case it may be necessary to save the piece from unraveling later.

    What if you don’t have a weaving needle

    • @KnotsKneedles
      @KnotsKneedles  3 года назад +3

      Technically, you can use your crochet to pull it in and out of stitches. It's just more time consuming.
