This episode is special to me because I am a native of Bahundagi. I would like to thank the entire "Herne Katha" team for bringing such an important subject to the public. Another Masterpiece! A very insightful story of the human-elephant-conflict.The elephant menace in Bahundangi is an ongoing problem spanning several decades with no solution in sight.Impacted individuals and families have been struggling economically and many have died in the elephant attacks for years. I feel sorry for them.

I want to thank many in my friend lists, who shared this story with me. I am overwhelmed with lots of emotions as I go through this video. As I wrote recently, elephant-human interactions are a classic tug of war where winning is losing for others! What startled me was the positive outlook of some of the interviewees amidst the chaos. I see science in this video, the change in movement patterns, behaviours of elephants and people's perspectives. Like Bidhya said each villager has his/her own version of the elephant story. "...but who is going to listen to the stories each elephant has?" Or, we will even ever understand it? "छावाको आमाको मन दुख्यो कि दुखेन होला..." how will the elephant calf share what he went through? Keeping both schools of emotion aside, the way some of the people expressed their concern about changing crop patterns, driving operations and plastic pollution, I must say many of us who 'studied' elephants will fail to understand this ground reality. This documentary, I feel, is the classic example of most of the landscapes where elephants 'visit'. Worth understanding each statement! Thanks for bringing it, Herne Katha
