Regarding comments here about a laggy UI: there's a new firmware that speeds up the UI considerably. I'll be making more videos about it in the future so you see it.
Thank you for this. I just learned something about my Clouds clone that I have been missing (the trigger in unlocking the looping delay behavior). I have been so underwhelmed by this module because I was missing out how to use it. Holy cow. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Love that I found this! For someone wanting to start building an effects skiff with modular, what else along with this would someone need? Since this module has sound generators and effects in it. Could this be used all by itself?
this is a nice a better overview representation on the poly effects Hector than previous video form some other you tube influencer that made few weeks ago
Any plans on a VCV Rack video/stream? I think it’d be cool to show off to any of your viewers that might not know about it! After all, cost is the #1 most prohibitive thing about getting into modular
i love all this modular type of stuff but i have no idea how to get started. I impulse bought a behringer model d and i want to hook it up to something but i have no idea what to get next 😅😅
Is the hector the same as the beebo? I’m use to guitar pedals then a euro rack. I want to link it up with the zoia to make a very powerful team. Let me know what is your thoughts on this team up. Great video
I'm SUPER tempted by this. Just the ability to summon a mess of MI clones is worth the price as far as I'm concerned. I'm also looking at norns/crow/etc but that, for me, sits in a different place.
Well lemme just toss the entire starting system I was looking to build away and just get one of these instead. (I kid, I still wanna get a Castor & Pollux, but one of them and one of these together would be absolutely ridiculous) Excellent demo!
So could this be used as 6 quantizers for 6 inputs, with effects on each output? That alone would be worth the price of admission! Presumably it lets you know when it hits the DSP limit?
Thanks for the vid - I can see the appeal to some people with smaller systems - to me that looks absolutely painful to use. A laptop with free VCV rack would be a better UI.
Hey Jeremy, when you go into a video like this, do you have an expectation on what you're gonna end up with (as in, have you sketched out the patch beforehand)? It just sounds so good!
...never mind. Apparently they're easter eggs that everybody but me knew about. Rings had a formant filter all along hOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOW??
Okay the Mutable Instruments ports is pretty sweet, but that interface just ain't for me. I'll definitely be trading my Zoia pedal for the Euroburo. The feel of modular is a big draw for me. I like making music to be a puzzle 🤔
I'm willing to agree! If the interface had less latency and the CPU could muster a bit more complexity I'd probably consider it because it looks like an amazing module. It seems pretty sluggish to use as it is now though.
To get over perceived menu-sluggishness for the sake of real-time performance: treat it as an MPE instrument-maker to dial-in all of what you want ahead of time, pipe your whole performance back in however you want so you can use Hector's effects, then use some sort of external MPE controller to handle the real-time performance.
I have the original Poly/Beebo, what kills me is you drop the chassis and move to a cheap PCB front panel. You maaaaybe add a DAC or ADC for the CV IO that costs at most a few dollars then add a bunch of cost to the price 🤦♂️ Strymon Magneto I’m looking at you…Zoia & Poly too.
so essentially it takes the benefits of modular, which is having hands on controls - and simulates the same thing only more cumbersome. this is a DAW more or less.

You are the Bob Ross of modular.
🥰
Bob Ross painting in a sapling on a lake shore like “you little bitch”
Mod Ross.
Nah. That title already belongs to cuckoo.
Again…thanks for ALL the priceless indelible information my dude. I’ve gathered so much from your perspective. Keep up the good work. Bless up !
You just replicated my entire 104HP pallete case in 1 module. Bravo!
If I was to jump down the modular rabbit hole this seems like a good place to start. Seriously cool
That integration with the launchpad is dope as hell. So much performance potential
"it has grids in here"
my whistle is most certainly wet.

Which clone? Knit?

@@MChristian I got the microcell so four different firmwares…
Awesome video! Really looking forward to using this to help explore Hector. Thanks!
Wow! Really opened my eyes. I want one.
The sound is great! I’m sold! Cheers!
Terrific vid. Thanks for the joy. Ready to try a new patch.

5:54 - Was that... Modular Bluegrass?!
To me this is so much more appealing than the Zoia Euroburo.
this is a nice a better overview representation on the poly effects Hector than previous video form some other you tube influencer that made few weeks ago
Yo dawg, we heard you like modular...
Great video :) I like the catJAM part, that's a really good part
Very cool to see MI code being incorporated.
I fucking love your videos man. I learn a lot every time. Now if I could just stop spending money
Wow, this is an awesome device. Great video!
we heard you like modular, so we put modular inside your modular
Hi there, did you make any further videos on the Poly Effects Hector ?
I have searched your channel, and cannot find any?
Cheers.
... and now waiting for a comparison with Zoia Euroburo!!! (usability, cpu power, quality of sound and fx modules)
i understand the desire but i do not do comparison videos
@@RedMeansRecording it's an understandable choice ... Perhaps in the future you could do a "First Patch with Euroburo" :-)
Any plans on a VCV Rack video/stream? I think it’d be cool to show off to any of your viewers that might not know about it! After all, cost is the #1 most prohibitive thing about getting into modular
Or MiRack on an iPad
I want to yes

I'm confused. You clearly used the Pentatonic quantized output of the "Marbles" and it wasn't quantized. Why not?
Because marbles can choose from unquantized to quantized to octaves with a knob.
@@RedMeansRecording oh I get it, you didn't have it set to quantized! Thanks
Great vid
This thing needs to have bluetooth or a usb port for a mouse....
USB Mouse works, but in 90deg angle) try to plug it in) I think trackball will work perfect!
Hej, i would love to know whats the case in the vid, someone knows?
4ms pods
Well lemme just toss the entire starting system I was looking to build away and just get one of these instead.
(I kid, I still wanna get a Castor & Pollux, but one of them and one of these together would be absolutely ridiculous)
Excellent demo!
This looks like an excellent augment to a case, but you’ll sacrifice a bunch of playability if you use it for everything. Definitely want one though!
So could this be used as 6 quantizers for 6 inputs, with effects on each output? That alone would be worth the price of admission! Presumably it lets you know when it hits the DSP limit?
It definitely does
Man I’ve already said no to modular and here you are trying to pull me back in .
I am in the same boat, trying to resist modular but people like good Jeremy here insist on making that very difficult...
This is so tempting….
Calling it "plots" gave me shivers. I always thought it was pronounced "Plats"

Great demo! Looks like the Hector might be a bit lacking in the CPU department.
Did you test out latency of the Hector ? Did you run into any noise issues ?
Loopop has a bit about latency
Hey Jeremy, when you go into a video like this, do you have an expectation on what you're gonna end up with (as in, have you sketched out the patch beforehand)? It just sounds so good!
I had sketched this patch before hand yes
What type of patch cable do you use? They arch so nicely. I need them in my life.
These are ones from endorphin.es
That was great. What was the peak DSP usage for the patch?
100 percent
Holy crap, I thought Rings only had three different models? Where'd the other four come from, are they exclusive to Hector??
...never mind. Apparently they're easter eggs that everybody but me knew about.
Rings had a formant filter all along hOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOW??
@@imlxh7126 you are not alone . Lol. 😅
that looks like a modular inside a modular
Beautiful idea .. I think hector needs more work 62% percent of cpu so early in a simple ensemble is disappointing
Wow.
So this is like SurfaceGo with Keystep and Reaktor, but without Windows, right?
yep if you could run all that on your iPhone processor
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would spend more time cleaning it than using it :)
