Yeah for sure! Just make just you check the magnet strength through the wood before gluing them. The rare earth magnets are heaps stronger when it comes to holding everything together, but good luck and thanks for checking it out!
I like to put a piece of flat stock under the board so the magnets are easy to install and epoxy.

Magnets are very brittle, and they magnetize things that are in contact with them. Do you really think it’s a good idea to magnetize a $200, or much more, knife?
It’s an interesting point, and a topic talked about in the knife making community a bit, but from my experience I’ve never seen magnets like this magnetise a knife to point where it makes a any kind of notable difference, or creates any kind of hindrance. The trade off of being able to display them in a cool way, and store them in a way that they are easy to access and keeping them out of drawers etc seems like a fair one to me.
And on the brittleness note, having the magnets encapsulated in the resin behind the wood gives them no opportunity to come into contact with the knife steel and chip. But thanks for watching, appreciate the feedback.

Sounds logical. I must confess, being a bit careless with storage just set me back $250 for a knife due to massive chip on the blade. (roommate or son just tossed it on top of the microwave with other things, and that was that. I recon I'll go for the magnet set-up @@nomadhandcrafted
Ouch, that sucks, is it save able? Even a knife wrap or some sayas can definitely help if you want to stay away from magnets.
