great work! i love it man
Thank you so much, it's my first time using blender and octane and I did something i'm proud of, keep up the good work !
You're very welcome!
Thanks It's awesome. Thank you
Even a complete beginner can understand your videos...great work....appreciate that hard work behind the video
Really appreciate your comment Shreyas! 😍
No, I can't understand.
It's perfect. I love you man
Glad to help 🤗
Hello, can you make a video about how to control the color and position of the gradient glass in blender octane?
Hello Varun, lovely video, thank you. If possible, could you do a video showing how you set up your workspace for a beginner? I would very much appreciate it.
Sure, I will make a video on this soon :)
Nice ❤
I think you did a great job🔝✔
Thank you for your comment 😇
do you have this .blend file available somewhere o download? i would love to give a better look at the settings of this project :) thank you!
Hey bro, how come my blender octane doesnt have the transmission properties on the specular material node and a bunch of other settings ?
Install the latest version from OTOY website. You can search nodes using soft A then S
I've truly been looking for a video like this for 2 years. Thank you so much. I'm wondering though, do you have any solution for smoothing out or completely removing the reflection of that square area light? It looks a little harsh on the glass, ya kno?
That can happen if you put roughness as 0. Try to keep it a small number so it's not extremely shiny or you can use another type of light as well.
@@VarunKumar I also found that changing the area light shape to a circle or ellipse made it a lot less harsh and sharp! Thanks again, bo
@@keemkorn Glad it worked :)
Can you come up with a detailed tutorial to control the color gradient and direction? Thank you.
Hi, thanks for watching the tutorial. Gradient color is defined by the intensity and direction of light falling on the material that produces the iridescence.
HI, dear Varun Kumar. Thank you for your fantastic tutorial. However, there is a problem I cannot find the texture environment node in my world mode, only have an environment texture node. it is because we using a different version of the blender? ~~~~please help!
Hi, are you sure you're using Octane nodes?
Great tutorial!
I am having an issue though, when I "apply smooth" after twisting, I get very rounded corners. Any ideas as to why?
Thank you for watching. Can you DM on instagram with more details?
@@VarunKumar
i have the same problem
solved it by ticking auto-smoothing
7:59 I don't see these 'octane' options. I have it downloaded and also have it as an option on my render engines
Make sure you sign into Octane server & activate it before running Blender Octane version & set Octane as your default render in render settings. Then these options will appear in your node setups.
How can I set new objects to be colored in the view port and not solid grey?
There's a drop down next to viewport shading on top right just left to Outliner (where layers are), it opens up a panel. Under "color", default is set to "Material". You can change it to "random" and your objects will have colors in view port.
@@VarunKumar THANK YOU SO MUCH !
The octane node options won’t appear, just the default nodes. Also, the “use nodes” box won’t appear when clicking on the light to add the nodes. How do I fix this? I already made sure octane is activated.
Have you switched to Octane render from the render settings? There's a link in description that should get you up to speed on the first installation and setup.
make sure you install the octane render AND the octane server
Heyy, I’m using octane engine for the first time. How to enable the graphics card to render it out ? I have RTX 3090. Most the octane is occupying cpu engine almost 80% and GPU 10%. Can you please help me out.
First of all make sure, you've signed up on Octane website and downloaded Blender Octane version & Octane server. Then first login to Octane server with your credentials, and then open Blender Octane. On the right side in properties, make sure your render engine is set to Octane and Device to GPU. That should do it
I have a MacBook Pro and for some reason cannot download octane. Is there a way to replicate this without octane?
I think Octane X is for Macs and an app is also available on the store:apps.apple.com/us/app/octane-x/id1548355081?mt=12
I am not sure as I don't have a Macbook right now to test but I will be getting an M1 mac soon, I can then test it out for you.
The dispersion effect won't come without Octane.
Do you have to have a license to save the render out as an image?
Octane Render for Blender is free to use. So unless you're making an exact replica, I think you're good to use it.
de donde saca tantos opciones para crear los ateriales?
Este es Octane para Blender, por lo que la configuración del nodo es diferente. esto no es ciclos
any chance you can make it tutorial in c4d, much appreciate it
Sorry, don't have the money :)
I am trying the render with a different shape, following the same steps why is my glass shape full if noise ? Cant seem to resolve it, tried everything
Did you change the roughness of glass?
When I go to the shader part doesnt not appears the same nods to me
Make sure to use Octane Blender and choose Octane as your renderer.
I can't get the same preview quality as you and when I render it says "No Net GPUs". The quality is poor. Far from your result. Is there something I need to activate to use my GPU? thx Awesome tut BTW
Sorry to hear you're having issues. I would suggest checking out a tutorial by Final Result, I have linked in the description. It will get you started on how to setup Octane properly.
@@VarunKumar Thanks for your quick answer. I actually did follow a tutorial to properly install the server + Blender Octane before. It's weird. I hope It's bug I will have to uninstall re install everything I guess. Thanks anyway.
@@TheLaw210 Sure, you can add me on Discord (vroonstudio) if nothing works. We'll try to sort it out together
I tried everything and I even tried raising the sample number to literally 10k, but the noise is still very heavy. Hmm I wonder how the tutorial render came out so clean with the same setting.
Can you share your file with me on Discord. I can take a look.
How to make color collection in object?
I didn't understand your question.
@@VarunKumar plane object color is green . How to make it?
@@harryjumaidi7803 That is viewport shading, you can read more here: docs.blender.org/manual/en/2.80/editors/3dview/controls/shading.html
@@VarunKumar thank for your information brother. 🙏🏽
is there any way i can get octane Render for free (any hints to find if from any where)
You can download the Octane build of Blender for free on the OTOY site!
Yes, Octane for Blender is free (it shows as a trial but it keeps renewing every month automatically) on their website, link is in description.
@@VarunKumar what if I have a MacBook?
@@aimeej4045 process should be same. Some keyboard settings might change for you. There's an option called Emulate keyboard that should do trick for one's without a numpad.
And what is the spec of your laptop/PC?
I have a Ryzen 7 3700x, 32gb ram and 6gb Nvidia 1660 Super GPU
Is it possible to achieve this quality in cycles
Unfortunately, iridescence is only in Octane and not Cycles.
Why didnt u use subdivided option to add loopscuts
There's always a 100 different methods to get the desired result and they're all correct too. It's just about preference :)
@@VarunKumar yes my dear this is something i was trying to figure out how to do these type like c4d thanks for tuts
How do I Update to 2.93? I still have .83 or something..
You can download both server & Blender from the links I have shared in description. I think they have updated to a newer version.
I did exactly the same, but the render is very noisyy :'( help plsss
I would suggest using around 1024 samples or more for a less noisy render
this is amazing....what r ur pc specs ??
Thanks! I have Ryzen 3700x 32gb ram and Nvidia 1660 Super with 6gb ram
how to get that universal marterial?
Make sure you're using Blender Octane version with Octane selected as your Render engine. Then you'll see these nodes.
@@VarunKumar thank you
i used 1024 and more samples but render still noisy, help please🙏🏻
You can use denoiser or increase samples
Same Issue
Can you make blender 3 tutorial for this?
Actually it's Blender Octane version so v3 or v2 doesn't matter as long as you use Blender Octane
@@VarunKumar oh so I just have to change my render engine?
Default Cube music
I added lights but it didn't glow like yours in seconds 7:47
It depends on the size of the object as well. Make sure the object is smaller and lights are scaled.
Good video, only music is a kicking in a bit too loud in the spoken pauses IMO.
Sorry about that. I will invest in a better mic setup soon 😇
@@VarunKumar
Voice audio is good. Maybe a tiny bit bassy. But a matter of taste.
I woldn't ramp up the music at any chance it gets in the speaking pauses (as in 1:35). At least much less. Its ok at the start and end of the video.
@@mechadense Thanks for the input 😊
Hey, Varun I recently upload video in dispersion but in Cycles. if you want to see do check out
Hey Neeraj, I don't think it's that straightforward to have dispersion in Cycles. This was actually the reason for me to choose Octane. I think I saw a video. I'll find one for you.
Could have been a 2 minute video
Well, it's supposed to be for beginners :)
octane is too slowwwwwww
OMG is that music up and down annoying.
Feedback is appreciated :)
any chance you can make it tutorial in c4d, much appreciate it
Sorry, don't have money to get a c4d license lol but yes you can achieve dispersion with Octane render there as well.
