- Goshi is diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy and spent his first five years living at an orphanage. Katrina, who is also diagnosed with SMA, saw Goshi’s adoption portfolio and knew instantly that she had found her son. Now Katrina is using her experience of living with a rare disability to help guide Goshi through life.

I bet many of you noticed Katrina’s amazing shirt. She actually designed it herself! In addition to being a mom, lawyer, and improv comedian, she also loves graphic designing! You can check out some of her creations at www.teepublic.com/user/disabled-af . There’s all kinds of cool shirts and stickers!
Yes! I noticed her awesome shirt immediately!!
Love the shirt! Had a look, might get me one of em, love the designs, so dry, love the weak sauce one especially lol
link isnt working for me.. anyone else?
@@pctatc66 me neither 😔
@@pctatc66 Yes. It worked for me. You have to scroll down & you’ll see the shirt she’s wearing.
I love it that Goshi immediately asked Chris "What about you?" :)
He's so polite and empathetic 🙂
Me too!!
True.
My husband and I are blind and want to adopt a blind child, we are looking for an agency as we speak. Love this channel.
I wish you all the luck in the world. I'm sure there's a child out there that needs you endlessly.
I’m not trying to be rude but I’m genuinely curious how you navigate your phone
@@TheSickjits I speak what I want to say in my phone types it for me. I can see but not very well so speaking helps. Also if I need to magnify something I can squeeze my phone screen and it magnifies things for me. For my husband he’s totally blind so his phone talks to him and he’s able to navigate no problem.
Wish you all the best and love ❤️
Didn't know this channel was here, I'll like and subscribe. Very uplifting

I think it was so sweet how he said he’d love to go to Chris house to hang out with him 🥺 or when Chris asked how he feels to be him and after his response he asked Chris about himself. He’s so inclusive and makes anyone feel welcome and that shows a lot about him as a person and how his mom is raising him ❤️
Lucky kid! He got the jackpot in the mom category! She is super amazing herself! I need a few of her tshirt designs! Lol she certainly has a sense of humor!
@@staceydailey6394 completely agree, and she’s also very lucky to have him 🥰
He’s a super sweet kid. His mom has done a great job of nurturing and bringing out that aspect in him. The world desperately needs more empathic people.
Those comments warmed my heart too
She’s a lawyer and a comedian and a graphic designer? Dang, that’s awesome. They both seem very sweet too.
You probably have no idea how positive you are, how uplifting you are. I have a disability too, and I was involuntarily sterilized. And sometimes I get down, I feel bad . Seeing the two of you AMAZING people, thank you, thank you. You uplift me. You inspire me. You are both so cooooool.
Wishing you nothing but the best :) hope that you surround yourself with positivity because you are worth it and loved ❤️ God bless. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit” Psalm 34:18
Deepest sympathy, involuntary sterilization? Cripes almighty. Wishing you all the best.
Wow
great post Noel.
💛💛!!
From the very beginning I liked this boy. He is very smart. Then they said he is adopted from Bulgaria 🇧🇬 - and this is my country. Great boy and great mom! Greetings from Bulgaria!
He doesn't look bulgarian at all he looks south asian, indian or something
Might be because of Roma origin (which date back to India). Anyway, he is such a charming alert boy. Very intelligent.
@@Ingrafre most roma bulgarians are so many hundreds of years removed from their indian origins that they don't look very indian anymore. He might be roma idk, but its more likely he was born to one or more south asian immigrants to bulgaria
'I like being myself' - a whole bunch of people would be a whole bunch happier if they could say the same and mean it. This kid is going to go far in life.
I love being educated on different disabilities and Chris does it so well
Goshi comes from Georgi which is very common Bulgarian name, I am from Bulgaria and during the interview I was kind of thinking that this accent is very familiar to me 😀. Very glad he got adopted, as here are thousands of abandoned kids living in misery. Good luck to Goshi and his mom. 💞
What a lovely family!!
I hate to say this, its embarassing on my behalf...but when I would see a disabled person I would look and feel pity and just walk away.
I now make it a point to say hello and smile and with that , it makes both our days and its a good feeling to know we are both just regular people in this crazy world!
Thanks to this channel, I can feel myself being a better person!
I was the same. Thanks to Chris my perspectives have changed. You are brave to tell your truth. So many people actually feel the same way you and I did but they don't say it. Take care and have a good evening.
🥰🥰🥰.
Same, it's been a really really humbling experience to watch this videos
That's an advantage I have: I grew up with disabled people. In my kindergarten class there was a boy with underdeveloped muscles in his legs so he couldn't walk, and in my neighbourhood there was a shopkeeper with one leg. So I learned at a very young age that disabled people are just as normal as the rest of us.
Good, it shows that you are making improvements! 😁
I think Goshi is incredibly blessed to have such an accomplished mom. What a great role model she is for him and she lives by the example. She works hard, is creative and has an accommodating home for him to grow up in. I think it’s a match made in heaven. So glad they found eachother and now have a forever family
What an awesome mom. Goshi is a reflection of her personality, it’s so refreshing to see such a well spoken and polite child.
I'm so glad to see yall back on RUclips after the "safe kids" fiasco! My son is currently in a coma, I'm beside him in the hospital. 19 years and fell dead at work. So terrifying! That was almost a month ago today. These videos have always been interesting to me, but today I'm drawing strength from those who have overcome. Thank you for all you do to share the lives of these amazing kids!
I'll be praying for your son, you, and your family 🙏❤️ keep us updated!
@@ghost_to_a_ghost thank you so much! APS sucks!
I pray for your son and that he gets better soon. Thank you for sharing as I can only imagine how difficult this is. I do hope and pray your son recovers as quickly as is possible.🌹❤️
Hi, I can't even begin to imagine the fear and all the different feelings you're going through with your son in a coma. I'm actually quite speechless because it just must be a time of a million feelings and not knowing what's going to happen. I just wanted to let you know that I'm sending you prayers and love and courage and I hope things turn out for the best. Thank you for leaving the comment and take good care ❤️💐
PS. what is APS
@@kavitadeva APS stands for antiphosolipid antibody syndrome. It's a hereditary blood clotting disorder. Basically it means we can get blood clots anywhere in the body for absolutely no reason. I have it, my father had it, my grandfather also had it. And dispite my heart desires that my son wouldn't inherit it, this shows that most likely he does. He was at work when it happened. He's 19 and was home from university for the summer. He was hustling to save up as much as he could for the fall semester. He ran out someone's order and never returned. After 3 or 4 min his best friend went out to check on him because he wasn't a slacker. His friend found him dead on the sidewalk. He literally just dropped dead. Skyler started cpr, and by the grace of God there was an ambulance getting gas across the street. They brought him back but there is major brain damage. However he has brain stem activity and eyes respond to light. This has been a solid month of horror. My sweet mama's boy lays in the bed, still in a coma. But I have faith he will get thru this. 🙏 he is on a ventilator and has a treach now along with a feeding tube. Bed sores have already started, and his legs are looking so skinny. But, I'm greatful that I have him. Even in this state, I'm greatful he is still with me. Thank you so much for your sweet comment! It's strange I guess but talking about it is therapeutic for me. I have always loved talking about Adem. He has been my absolute heart on this earth. Life without him just can't happen, so I'm here for every moment every second that I can be with him. Btw, I am more than thankful for the prayers! Share his story, Adem age 19 in TN needs all the prayers ❤️
26 seconds in and yet again, as with almost all of these, im instantly hooked when he brought up the poleXD
I wish I knew a mother like this I could work for. Good luck with everything!! You are an awesome mother and you have a great child!! He is so amazing and super smart!
What kind of work would you do?
@@SarahKDB i currently work at McDonald's.... But I have work for the disabled before and I enjoy it it's actually like a calling or a dream job of mine.
She does attorney work. I'd love to be her paralegal!!
I LOVE her shirt.😊 These two have a wonderful future in store for them. He seems like a really sweet kid. Adoptive moms are wonderfully special people, & he's clearly very loved. I'm glad these two people found eachother, the universe moves in fantastic ways.🥰
He seems like the nicest kid ever. I loved how he returned the question when you asked what he likes to do for fun.
It's so cute when she says she's always been a mom 😃
" I thought she was a bad guy but she was a good guy" ☺️ What a wonderful courageous woman to adopt this sweet child to help him cope.....she knows exactly how he feels!
Wow what a well adjusted kid. His mom should be proud for raising a kind, intelligent, emotionally aware son.
$100M, same, Goshi. 100 random friends isn't worth much. I'm absolutely positive if Chris had said 100 random friends vs. 1 good friend Goshi would have picked the one. He is wise, thoughtful, and genuine.
❤️ “I even love my mom” ❤️ So cute
I was smiling about 10 seconds into the video. Goshi is an incredible kid, and his Mom Katerina is amazing. She clearly loves him so, so much.
Another great video on SMA, Chris, fascinating to learn more about it, especially being a disabled individual my self.
Thank you for all your awesome videos!
I saw the entire video and I loved it very much especially the mom ☺️. Goshi got the lottery in his life and he better make lemonade out of the lemon. I'm Bulgarian and I have the same disability and I also grow up in an orphanage homes here in Bulgaria so I know how lucky little Goshi is. Good luck to you both.
He is so well spoken and his mom is very loving and encouraging when it comes to their disability. He is going to grow up in a happy and loving home
God bless this beautiful mom and son. 🙏💜🙏
Greatings from Bulgaria!
Here not all families have the finances to provide good care for children with disabilities. Goshi you are very lucky man!
I was really surprised when i heard he is from Bulgaria. Then realised Goshi is nickname for George. :D
I really liked hearing your story, Goshi! I am very relieved you and your mom found each other. When all is said and done, I feel as though you two have something very special that not everyone gets to experience.
Hey Chris, I‘ve been watching your channel for some time now and I must say, you have single-handedly inspired me to be kind to all sorts of people around me and to not judge people. Not just that, you have also inspired me to help people with disabilities. I may be 15 but I hope to study someday and if I do, I swear to you that I will help people with disabilities in any way shape or form. I hope that the things around us will be made more and more accessible to the disabled. Have a nice day y‘all.
P.S: None of this comment was organized, I just talked straight from my heart, I‘m sorry for the random style of this comment, I just hope somebody else sees this and gets inspired too. Peace ✌

This woman is raising a gentleman 👌🏽😁🥰
The mom has strong emotional intelligence and she is teaching her son the same. Bravo!
They are so perfect😭💕❤️
God bless Katrina and Goshi. A perfect mother and son.
You’re such a good lad. Your work gives me much hope
I hope they both are able to get the latest SMA treatments so their health doesn't continue to get worse.
What an amazing mom and son ❤️
Smart kid, and very self aware.
That boy is such a charmer! He has such a cool attitude! Very well spoken and grown up for such a young guy, but his character will open him doors for sure! Lots of love to you and you fam, Goshi!
Mom...you are doing an excellent job raising a wonderful son. God bless the both of you.🥰
I love how outspoken he is because I still hide behind my smile and say ‘all is good’ . Wishing you all the best x
I only recently discovered this channel by complete accident and ended up watching nearly every video you’ve put out. Each one of them seems to give me a perspective I didn’t know I was missing. Thank you for doing this.
That's sad that Goshi felt he had to edit his behavior at first for fear of upsetting his new mom. That's indicative of what he must have learned while being in foster care. I'm glad he doesn't feel that way anymore.
I am childfree but she really convinced me to adopt a disabled child
what an incredibly precious family! As someone that also wants to adopt in the future (i'm a student now), this is really beautiful to see! :) I wish Goshi lots of good luck in the future, with a mother like that he'll be unstoppable!! :D
He is awesome kid
Absolutely wonderful Mother and son. So glad they found each other xx
Im so glad I had discovered this channel. It really has had me thinking about life and how I look at everything, and rekindles the compassion I felt I was losing. Thank you for doing what your do my man. You're an angel!
I am so happy to see a post by you once again!!! I loved hearing Goshi’s story. He seems like such a fun kid! Katrina takes care of him so well I am happy for them. Only one hour ago you were with this lovely family! So lucky.
Wow! I can not say enough good things about this wonderful Mother and son. Just Wow! It really hit home on a lot of challenges I deal with, but from a totally different disease and injury. Off my pity pot... threw that darn thing out the window after watching this. Chris, what a great video with this lovely family. Love , hugs and prayers ❤ 🤗 to all !!
I can’t explain how awesome it is to see you both do the things you do, and I’m so thankful for SBSK for sharing and doing what they do!
What a wholesome interview! This kiddo put such a huge smile on my face. I wish him, his mom, and the rest of his family the very best ❤️
Another educational, humbling, and heartwarming video. The life perspectives you get from these people are priceless. Thank you for the amazing content as always, Chris.
Love this video. I want to add that having SMA/Spinal Muscular Atrophy doesn't inherently mean that someone can't walk. There are people (including adults) with SMA who walk, but it is true that the majority of people with SMA grow up to be people who are not ambulatory.
Absolutely beautiful. Both of them. No words
Ou my gosh he is so precious and a beautiful soul. What a kind boy with such a great sense of humor. He's a gem. This was my favorite interview you've ever done. His mom is beautiful and clearly an incredible mom!!
I think Chris is great. He is honest, straight forward and fun to watch him.
What a beautiful family! This channel gives me hope

Oh wow, I so needed to meet you guys today, Katrina and Goshi!! You are amazing people - that's so clear, right off the bat. Just hearing from you how you deal with frustrations, with life - it really helped me throuigh a bit of a rough moment here. Chris - thanks for uploading this today - perfect timing. Katrina and Goshi - you guys - you're really cool people!! Thank you for sharing your lives here!
Such a great interview Chris your videos always put a smile on my face God bless you bud so wonderful to be part of this beautiful community ❤️🙏
What a great mom & son! I loved Goshi’s answer to your question: “If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?” And he chose your house to hang out with you! He is so kind and friendly!! And his mom really did a great job teaching him to feel and express his emotions and deal with them after experiencing them. I am glad he is allowed to express his true feelings. It isn’t always easy and unfortunately not all kids are allowed to express their true emotions, disability or not. And he is really good (for what I can tell from this small interview) at recognizing them, feeling them but also overcoming them, each and every time while still being able to act his age. I don’t get the feeling he had to grow up too quickly, which often does happen with disabled people (I know, I am one of them). Of course he might have had to grow up a bit faster than some of his peers, but I’m glad he still acts his age! And I agree with his mom, Goshi has such a good, no, amazing spirit!! Truly a wonderful kid! And Katrina is an amazing mom too! Loved the interview!
This interview is definitely one of my favorites you’ve had!! ❤️💜
Both of these humans are extraordinarily. It is so inspiring. May God bless you both!

I’ve absolutely fallen in love with every single person that’s made an appearance on this channel. Thank you for making these videos. 💜. I don’t see disabilities when I look at them. I see beauty, love, perfection, wholesome human beings with so many incredible qualities, that I aspire to be like.

Hey Chris, thank you SO much for bringing us these kids and adults, and educating us with what everyone has! You are very cheerful, respectful, and kind! And I love the fact that Goshi was so comfy in his own skin now, and was even interested in you!
It’s wonderful for Goshi to have the guidance and care of someone who can guide him through experiences and feelings he may have, and a special house that better suits his needs. Being more comfortable in your space is priceless! Sending a lot of love to this family!

I do not take for granted the people in my life and this vlog reinforced that. What kind and thoughtful people. I really took heed in thinking about making sure that there are facilities or homes for disabled people and how important it is.
I love demonstrations of what a loving, supportive family can do for someone. We all deserve to be loved and seen to meet our full potential.
This is such a really cool family and I'm so happy they found each other. I think seeing his Mom do everything she does to provide for and care for him helps him be able to grow up knowing that his disability is just a part of him but it doesn't have to limit him or define him. He's a smart, kind and handsome guy with a fierce Mom and I love it ♥️
