A little bit like trying to match a rug and a sofa that might not really match. Try having colours and textures that pull the 2 together.
To be honest, I never thought even once in my life "oh my, the bride's dress really does not match the venue!" :D My cousin wore a princess dress for her wedding (in her own little garden) and it was no problem at all :) but then, American weddings seem to be styled much more than ours. I refuse to have bridemaids in matching dresses or wedding colours :D
This is exactly the thing - I doubt a lot of people would even notice!
Thank you for these ideas, it eased my mind a lot! :) We'll have an autumn wedding, fairytale-forest themed, and I chose a strapless/off the shoulder convertible dress, advertised as "perfect for spring/summer wedding". :')
Now I have a lot more ideas on how to coordinate the styles better.
Wonderful!
I love that you approach topics that aren't usually discussed. I hadn't even thought about that issue before, but I found your tips to be super helpful. When I go gown shopping I won't have to stress about it :)
Aw, thank you!
I’m not even concerned about my dress not matching my venue, but I knew you would have some great styling tips just in general! Thanks!
:) Thank you Kenyele!
This has been my main concern! I fell in love with a huge sparkly ballgown dress for my small backyard bbq wedding. Upscale bbq, no hands foods, but still a bbq lol so i have been second guessing myself ever since
It will be beautiful! Wear the dress you want proudly and people will love you in it. I promise it will be perfect!
Wow! Great video. It was really helpful.
I had this problem with choosing my dress. My venue is at a barn, with rustic vibes. My theme is something along the lines of italian vibe such as Sicilian and Tuscan.
I had in mind a simple satin A-line and one more boho style maybe to match the barn feel.
But I am going to follow your advice and create the atmosphere by decor and hairstyle. And also maybe with the sit down music, to make the guest get into the vibe.
Thank you again!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing tips as always!!
Thanks so much!
What a great idea! I can’t wait to watch this one! 🤩
Hope you like it!
I’m getting married at a courthouse but I still want to wear a wedding dress and feel like a bride. I don’t know if it’s too much for just the courthouse but I don’t wanna wear a cocktail dress on such a special day for myself personally
You do you! If you want a full on ballgown at the courthouse, go for it!
@@cavinelizabeth I ended up ordering a more causal mermaid style dress! It looks bridal but I’m not gonna be struggling with it at the courthouse! Perfect option! :)
