I really like the kind of challenges in DREDGE that count days (and hours) as the measurement of how fast the said challenge is done instead of real life playtime. All the power to the speedrunners but that's not for me. It's way less stressful when you can have those moments in the docks to plan ahead when the clock isn't ticking.

@@Matzelele Figured something out already and decided to try it out. Let's call it the Magran Challenge. Magran The Fishman was the Ingfell resident who found a scroll and tried to ascend by eating aberrant fish, right? There's a few quests that fit the theme; first the Little Marrow dockworker who didn't fare too well (and obviously got aberrant fish in the packages he received) and then there's the four hooded figures. Trying to get those 5 side quests done as fast as possible, and then finish off by meeting up with the Fanatic in Devil's Spine who suspiciously happen to carry a scroll and have scales on his arm. Haven't decided yet if I should try and finish the hooded figure quests by giving them only aberrant fish (excluding the crabs) or just normally. Once finished I'll comment a benchmark of how many days it took for me so you may try and beat it if you'd like (unless you beat me to it lol)
Decided to do the Magran Challenge just regularly. Definite could have done it more efficiently and the damned ghost shark lost me a day or two towards the end but managed to dock at the ruined temple with Package Delivery, Craven Courier and the four hooded figure missions done at Monday, Day 22 - 21:27. You could definitely manage it sub 20 days.
Question, what was the trigger to unlock crab pots on day 2 plus get a free pot? i am trying my own speedy run but i am not sure why you have crab pots and i dont? what am i missing here pal? lol
First - no sleep and fishing enough to pay debt, second - do all fisherman task ASAP, one of them give you crab pot. Edit: If you know fisherman's tasks - you can keep fish in the boat - even rotting he'll buy it.
@@Matzelele i have completed the first 2 quests and still no crabpot, tried it on a fresh save in case this was a bug, still no crab pot. i am guessing the debt needs to be paid off? as someone else has suggested
@cyllocybin Yeah that could be it. You can just talk to the mayor and say you want to give him all the money. You don't need to wait until he takes his part
@@Matzelele i decided to try catching 5 cod on day 1 and doing the cod shrine to get the ability to fish shallow waters instead of buying a rod, then catch everything i needed for the quests, so i did all of that and i didn't get a Crab pot. what am i doing different? 1, not buying the rod 2, using the cod shrine reward fishing item i can only conclude i have not paid the boat off fully and that is preventing me from Crabbing

You just have to complete the first two quests of the fishmonger I think. Then he will give you the third one with the Crab pot
