Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson uses a karate fighting style (similar to TSD) in the UFC and he is #5 ranked welterweight in the world. He should be ranked higher IMO. There are some other fighters with karate backgrounds as well, but he's probably the best.

Yes, I've used it while cross-training in MMA and other styles as well.
