This famous Thyagarajaswamy kriti - "Rama ni Samaanamevaru", was sung by almost all erstwhile stars...I have listened this sung by maestro TRS, The sister duo Smt Brinda & Smt Mukta and also by the great Sangeetha Kulapathi SSI too! MMI's unique style of recital...pranams.
Superb rendition by a Stalwart which lives in the hearts of Music lovers of Shri Mani Iyer forever. Days/years change but his divinity in his rendition remains forever. God's gifted voice.
I am fortunate to have such great scholars in Carnatic classical music Field. I am blessed by Almighty to hear and enjoy this divine musical treat by the Legendary musician Madurai Mani Iyer. Ninjoor Vasantha Raja Bhat.
We miss so many stalwarts in music, but their records always keeps us in excellent spiritual world. We are proud of you Shri.Madurai Mani Iyer Sir. Thanks again for those who have uploaded in the media.
This is unfortunately a corrupted recording with someone trying to use the recording as a training ground. If the person uploading the recording needs to practice, YES, he can use it as a good base, but not besmirch the original recording. That way we lose precious cornucopia of renditions from the Swara Brahma - Pujya Shri. Madurai Mani Iyer. My apologies to Mr. Rajashekharan! Wonder how no one has even mentioned this anomaly... But thanks again for all your wonderful efforts.
Despite being a Tamilian, I know/can discern the nuances of all South Indian languages (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam) and I am a bit pissed off with the maestro's breaking of the word 'palukulaku' as 'paluku' + 'laku' (which totally screws up what Tyagaraja divined when he penned it) . 'Palukulaku' simply means 'words', words expressed based on the context of the following grammatical entity... But in those days, nobody cared for the lyrics....Unfortunate as it is :(
thats exactly it, no other singer, not even MSS, was both so full of human bhava, and at the same time transcendental...one foot on bhooma devi and one being pulled up by his metaphoric top knot into the celestial realms where nothing exists
if my memory serves me right this was the same concert i had the privilege of attending, spell bound with the neraval, at Rock Fort temple premises in Trichy way back in 1966.....i fully agree with the views expressed here ...
and here is a fascinating comparison. Abdul karim Khan singing same Kriti in what i assume is a Hindusthani style....its said its from Veena Dhammal he learned the song. which would be a magnificent thing, if true. ruclips.net/video/FuUyLQpE22g/видео.html
