I was so invested in Homeland for years in large part due to portrayal of Carrie. She’s just an incredible actress.
Carrie and Saul's relationship was the heart of that show and they were always compelling, even when the rest of the show (IMO) kinda fell off
Conan's hair superpowers are back.
right? no 🎧 crushing the pomp and circumstance.
Definitely! 💖
I notice that his hair is often elevated to its once glorious pomp whenever he’s interviewing a female and clothed in a jean jacket. Coincidence…I think not.
@@jimmyjawbone ConeBone69
Fleishman is in trouble is so good. You start out disliking her character and in the end you’re more aligned with her than anyone else.
Claire Danes as Juliet was a formative moment for me as a kid... What a special performance. 💞
One day this talented actress will win an Academy Award...🎭
I was such a big fan of Homeland and the great dynamic between Claire as Carrie and Mandy Patinkin as Saul was a big reason for that!
I read the title as “How Claire Danes helped Conan Impersonate his wife” and I was waiting for it and it just.. didn’t happen. 💖😂💖
Got to hear this today and felt like I was listening to two people with fantastic chemistry! (Complete respect to their respective spouses intended.)
It's just that both of these folks don't take their careers and lives for granted and it felt like a peek into them off mic, really.
Such a good episode and would love to see/hear a collab in the future.
Claire's always been awesome
“I have a quasi paternal thing” I feel like that’s just called being a nice person, Conan 😂
Nah it's a paternal thing. Conan always see guys he likes as it's his brother/ sister. All coz he grew up in a large family.
I can't believe that Conan is 60 now. I guess he's seen a lot of young actors and actresses grow up over the years.
He has that with a lot of his guests he met when they were 13-21 and they’ve gone on to have these long careers.
Fleishman Is In Trouble is a great show and Claire is fantastic in it
This was an awesome interview! I have to say, why is there an open door in the back?? Lol, that is not distracting at all! (rando people walking up and looking in the room)
Anyone else think they should have closed the door to the hallway behind Conan before they started?
I think the wall has a glass panel, I don't think the door is open.
Erm, is it distracting to you or something? How do you concentrate at work?
@@andrewmatas6984 I guess they were going for the vibe like that morning talk show with the windows behind them and the people outside.
It’s ok it’s only the Sirius XM. headquarters. Conan’s home base studio is literally miles better. 🎉
It's a glass door.
She has a beautiful laugh
Claire requested the door remain open 😂
one ofvthe best actresses period
I like his other dark blue podcast room better
I don’t understand how this dilema with not appreciating the writers started.
Is surreal to me that they’re having to go to strike in order for them to be valued.
We, as spectators, remember movies and actors because of the lines they say:
"You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya punk?" -Clint Eastwood, Dirty Harry
"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum." -Roddy Piper, They Live
"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." -Clarke Gable, Gone with the Wind
"Hasta la vista, baby." -Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
"Say hello to my little friend!" -Al Pacino, Scarface (1983
"Are you not entertained?" -Russell Crowe, Gladiator (2000)
. "Pardon my French, but Cameron is so tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up his ass, in two weeks you'd have a diamond." -Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
“Life is a box of Chocolates” Tom Hanks, Forest Gump
Claire!! 🤗🤗
She's an actress of my age.. but I could not remember what I knew her from. Then it hit me... ROMEO AND THE JULIET! I just saw this a few days ago. She was Juliet to DiCrapio's Romeo.
Juliet is a woman not a thing.
Is "DiCrapio" a Freudian typo? 😅
Yes
@@sweiland75 A woman is a feeling, lol
🐠👁
Omg Claire Danes 😍😍
I loved her in Shop Girl and T3
Those people walking in the background and one guy coming to check if someones in the room 😂kind of grounds the whole thing in my head as you always feel this podcast when going on, no normal activities are going on.. Hope that makes sense..
Loving the podcast Coco.
I love how she acted in Temple Grandin
She played the best female character in the history of television in Homeland.
There was talk.....
Gerbils!!!
I was riveted to every episode of Homeland damn she was good in that role
Great interview 👍🏾 👍🏾
very talented lady
How could I get tickets to see Conan live?
My So Called Life reruns were part of my high school late night tv
Needs more Sirius XM logos.
These logos and like advertisements are the reason I don’t subscribe
Well he did drop by Howard’s show
@@carina9295 lol
the proud uncle 😂
Hey Conan we missed you so much Man
i acttually watched my so called life back when it came out damn that was a long time ago
Nice to Carrie Mathison doing well 😊
Love her!!!
❤Great work in Homeland, etc.🎭
Claire Danes is so beautiful.
I am a big Homeland fan . Wat a performance by Claire.
celebrities fawning on each other how entertaining
Her dad was the head of Skynet
Claire Danes looks more like Katee Sackhoff as she gets older
She does resemble her in a way, plus also Gwyneth Paltrow too a bit
Her best-ever performance is in BROKEDOWN PALACE.
Forever Angela ❤❤❤
If you notice, Claire Danes' personality is right in your face. Some find that objectionable, and I'm not sure why. She doesn't mince, and I love that about her. Her performance in the Homeland series was great.
did Sirius buy out Conan's podcast "Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend"?
Man no one watch Stardust? My first time seeing her in a movies and she is very lighthearted in that film.
I loved her in that! But the first movie I saw of her was Little Women - her death scene as Beth left scars on my little child heart
Claire is delightful
Stardust is my favorite movie of the last 20 years
I have felt so Paternal towards so many now women that I am proud of. :) I do not get a tie on Father's Day! LOL! I have been referred to as a "Slightly Odd Uncle." Most people would take insult to that, but I am proud of that! :)
Jesus Christ... Stop the walkers in the background...
I Heard St Laurent Say That The Electric Powered Loudspeaker Wasn't Invented Until 1959
That's How Elvis Presley Invented Portuguese Politics
Claire Daines-Conan might be the most sweetest version of Conan there IS...lol! And, me thinks, maybe he almost could have married her had he not fallen deep in love, marrying his wife, when he/they DID! LmMFaO!!! ;) :P :o) The world WILL NEVER KNOW...
I've seen her in so few things, but she's so talented. My So Called Life obv,and Les Mis with Liam Neeson..I think that's all Ive seen lol.
Stardust is a fantastic movie, I wouldn't lie and say it's better than Princess Bride but its in that same category of "a family friendly fairy tale." lots of big actors, great director.... yeah worth checking out imo.
@@tryingtotryistrying I just finally watched that movie recently, which is surprising since I am a MASSIVE Michelle Pfeiffer fan. That movie is just simply one heck of a good time!!
@@13blackcatzzz I like Guy Ritchie alright, but when after Snatch he did Revolver and Swept Away (lol) and Matthew Vaughn did Layer Cake and Stardust I was like hmmm curious haha.
I have a fançlub card from her. It was 1999 or so❤
Can XM not afford the last few inches of window cling?
Or to CLOSE THE DAMN DOOR?
@@chrishei3111 or you cou;d stop complaining about menial things
The video is 7.50 minutes where Claire get's to talk for about ONE MINUTE. Come on man ;;)
that coat makes Conan look like a toddler
a very tired, very tall, very irish toddler
@@chrishei3111 you guys, it's just his genes that fit awkwardly
😂😂😂😂
It's the coat, ya think? Huh...
I think it's what he's going for
Out of context but does anyone know what brand and model mic's they're using?
silver looking
Claire Danes looks so much like Cate Blanchett. Are we sure they're not the same person? Somebody check on that. 🙂
Stop smoking
She doesn't look anything like Cate Blanchett. At all.
what the hell happened to the term mini-series?
The writers are the most important people in television. The directors are for movies.
Give a movie director an empty brown paper bag and he or she isn't winning an elementary school play, let alone an Oscar
@@davidbright6790 I would refer you to Gladiator. It is of course, though, an art form that relies on many artists, but in movies the director is responsible for putting it all together. A good script with a bad directing job is never a good movie, but a bad script with good directing can be.
@@anotherjewishsharpnicholas9425 Not to mention...television director is almost more akin to that of honorary degree or award equivalency, or even sometimes not too far removed from celebrities throwing the openin' pitch, and/or singin' the national anthem at important baseball games. Unless, it happens to be THE director, startin' a show off and establishing everything, perhaps even the much rarer director having major creative control which's plannin' on directing the entire series. But, Kevin Smith talked about IT...HIS guest directing on WB shows...where, basically, even if he didn't show up to work, somebody else would just have yelled action and cut and he wouldn't even be missed (in terms of what his work responsibilities are and needed done by him, not him as a person); IT how he explains things, more like his doing it and being offering the job, as like a fan-service, or, his make-a-wish request being fulfilled if he were a kid with a terminal disease, but, once the show's already been well-established, kinks worked out and shooting all-but automatic, down pat, muscle memory filming for the entire crew, a director's really not even necessary (other, than, for their billing, 'cause, greedy studios being able to get out of paying people directin' later episodes of established shows even one time would see them trying to get out of paying a director's salary for those episodes, every show, every season, every chance they think they could get away with it) LmMFaO! However, a film director is completely different: trying to make a decent film without a director, at all, would be like trying to operate a navy submarine or aircraft carrier without a captain, with green cadets fresh out of boot camp/basic training for the entire ship crew. Basically, you would probably be very lucky to find any of them still alive or onboard a week later, if not but a day, two, or few after shoving off...hahaha!
True or false. I still have printed out (black and white inkjet) photos of Claire Danes from circa 1995. The answer is true.
omg its Yvane!!!!
She is adorable person i love ❤❤
Today I found out Claire Danes and Katee Sackhoff are diffrent people.
The Homeland gal
I swear Conan has one denim jacket .
These two must be the leaders of the " Mutual Admiration Society. "
While it is nice that they obviously like one another after a few minutes of the gushing I become bored and drift away into deep slumber!
Hmmm
She should have had a bigger career in film. Not sure why that has not come to pass.
She got paid millions to play in homeland she doing just fine.
When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was katee sackhoff
As we all age do we tend to close our eyes more when speaking?
Is this a pantomime of our nearness to death???😱
KEDAKAI!!!
No
Oh my God! Finally! I thin k I'm gonna cry.
Is that the girl from homeland?
um delightful
Yeah.
But that was too easy.
I am the right challenge
for Claire Danes.
First she should help me
to get a wife,
and then she could help me
to impress that wife.
Then I'd be impressed by
Claire Danes.
Interesting poem there bud

Yeah.
I usually try to find
the humorous side
of this effed up life.
I just don't find it.
You know, I try to
make a joke
about it.
A great joke in a
great pain.
(But usually I fail.
That's what I am
perfect at.
I fail like nobody
else.)
Good show, but someone should block the view to the hallway. People walking by and looking in is distracting.
This podcast without Sona and Matt sucks. I could not listen the whole thing in the last two episodes except the intros and outros. I blame the execs for pennypinching and destroying great chemistry. How many of these sterile podcasts so I can skip them?
Not to Backtrack butn1 Season of MY SO CALLED LIFE, should be in Television Myseum HOF....Love, a 60 years old White Dude...😅
This studio is too bright. Yikes. It's like a bad office space. Would give me a headache and stress me out at the same time. This lighting is the reason people want to work from home. The other studio had perfect lighting, get that guy to do this one.
Pay the writer
I'm pretty sure I'm correct Conan gave her a really giant hickey years ago resulting in the weirdass hairflip he has been punished with by God for decades now. He has so much guilt he sounds like a monk now.
I miss the sex panic room
Experience Music Project.
The hallway is ruining this!!!!! Why are they not in his bat cave in L.A.!
Weird, I always thought "Claire Danes" was a 1920's actress Conan liked to reference like so many others he does. Ok, so she's alive and not old. Good to know.
These Sirius shows aren’t as interesting as the ones with sona and Matt. Just standard celebrity interviews
Conebone69
Why is this still funny.
@@kevinjohnston4923 🐈💨
She had me at vaginal discharge.
she's been out of media for some time, i thought she did not act anymore
Are Conan & Claire having an AFFAIR....😢
Amazing series - the only problem is that the author of the book enthusiastically supports Israel.
Conan talks too much.
Not at all? Like he's known for having actual conversations with celebrities instead of scripted back and forth. I love that both parties actually talk to each other.
How many My So Called Life fans tho?
conan too cool to have sona and matt there when he has a celebrity on. F Conan for this 1 on 1 interview
great interview! (but not the same without sona and matt 🥲)
Conan needs his entourage
They’re not needed.
The noticeable lack of tweed is greatly disheartening
