Great reaction as usual! I can't see that it's been commented here, but it might have on Patreon; Dororo doesn't say thanks, but "aniki" i.e. "big brother" after thanking Hyakkimaru. So in this episode Osushi and Dororo essentially found their big brothers, but one was gained as the other was lost. There's so much done with parallels and foreshadowing in this show. The first sounds Hyakkimaru hearing being the rain and the pain that he had caused is so strong. (I was trying desperately not to reference "it's a terrible day for rain"...) Then there's the fact that this is the first time Hyakkimaru has heard crying so it's unlikely he understands what it is he's hearing, as if he's still deaf to the emotion itself. Lol not sure what happened in this comment, just wanted to make sure someone let you know about the big brother thing, and my brain got a little carried away at the end 😅
Thank you for the part about “Aniki” - I’ve noticed it in the episode, but wasn’t sure what to make of it, so that really helps…and adds to the angst! @-@ But yesss, so many parallels, foreshadowing, symbolism connections…oof…it’s a doozy! Thank you so much for the comment, info, and kind words! It’s really appreciated!
Oh, I began to write comment but then you mentioned it too, how he remembers the crane before making the decision and that it's not cowardice but more like "I can't kill myself because I have a sister to care about" mentality. The reasons behind human decisions again, the ways we justify our sins. Everyone has a "valid" reason to do something bad. And sometimes the situation can be so complicated it's like there's no right choice. Or, what is right depends on our standpoint. I love your observations and I love what this show does on the theme of violence and people's souls. People are still people even when they murder left and right, because people are beings that always have the option to choose, even in the last moment, even when it seems like they're too deep in this. Demons however are simply an evil form of existence that can't repent nor change its ways. This is so important. Malice is not an innate trait of even the most evil individuals; it is their fears, desires, wrong ideals, sometimes even noble intentions, and other tangled mess of reasons that make them succumb to the Enemy. Poor Hyakkimaru experiencing what it means to be fully alive: Pain. lmao this show. The first thing he feels after getting his nerves is his own injuries, now it's the depressing sound of rain and a woman's crying over the one he's killed. It's interesting that what you mention as the 20 century storytelling may actually be the original 2019 anime plotlines since I've heard this adaptation went quite far from the source, and some changes (again, from what I heard) are in my opinion the best parts of the show. But either way, they did a god job sticking to the more classic style of storytelling, I totally get what you mean when you say it feels cozy. Exactly. One of the reasons I love this show. It's quite simple but really deep and effective.
This episode was sooo good at illustrating how everyone has a human reason behind what they’re doing. It really does matter from our perspective; that’s so great you noted that! Thank you for the kind words - this series really has a lot of violence but it’s always effective without being excessive. I feel for Hyakkimaru and learning what it means to be “alive.” Oof, this show indeed! I do appreciate that this series has been updated for modern audiences while still staying true to the root story! Thank you for the comment and kind words!
I found out your channel about 1 month ago, i been watching a lot of them like Evangelion, Jujutsu Kaisen Seraph of the End and Madoka Magic reactions, really fun a hug from Brazil ❤
Gory and depressing episode....the rain was present throughout the episode, including the flashback. The message of the brother not being a demon, just a human, is so powerful. It made even more sense when you likened it to war veterans. Soooo relieved the sister wasn't used as some tragic ploy and get killed by Hyakkimaru or worse, her brother. I'm also glad the sword was destroyed. I was afraid the sword would find a new host and continue the cycle.
It was such a sad episode and the rain just added to the ambiance! But yes, the brother not being a demon really seems to be applicable as well to the two brothers Hyakkimaru and Tahomaru as well! But I am glad that at least the sister didn't suffer in this! And that the sword was destroyed; I was terrified it'd be "lost" or leave to go on a rampage! Thank you for the comment!

Ah, the metaphores for PTSD, with brother's mind never being able to return to from war and live with his sister. We love it here
Yesss, the symbolism is SO GOOD, but dang it hurts! Thank you for the comment!

If the episodes 5 and 6 are the ones the I think, would be good the make both in one video
I recorded ahead for Patreon, so they are separate, but I hope you enjoy each! Thank you!
