    Scott is telling the world about a potential law where the USA is trying to force the Nicaraguan people to do things a certain way, or the USA will stop investing money into Nicaragua. And you are attacking Scott? I don't think you understand what Scott is trying trying to do. He wants the USA to mind its own business and leave the Nicaraguan people alone. Most people from the USA do not care if our government is trying to hurt Nicaragua or its people. You are putting your hate on the wrong person.

    Just a Caveat: Either house of Congress can propose a bill. Only the House of Repreentatives may originte a SPENDING Bill. (Of course, Bob Dole, the last Republican I voted for [for president], showed how the Senate could re-write a spending bill from the House, and then send it back to the House, and onto reconciliation.)

    How would they inforce it most businesses don’t have paperwork attached in Nicaragua it would just mean you do strictly cash business

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  3 месяца назад

      Oh no, the paperwork is intense. Every dollar coming in is tracked by the US. The US has the global banking network under close watch. Not that I'd recommend trying to skirt such a law, but if you tried you'd find it insanely hard. I mean if you were walking down the street and found $100 cash while in Nicaragua and instead of buying snacks with it you gave it to a buddy to invest in a new business... no, no one will ever catch you. Nor do the US actually care that you invest $100.
      What you won't be able to do is move your REAL investment money anywhere in the world and put it into investments in Nicaragua. From a mechanism standpoint, it's nearly impossible to not be visible when doing that. Unless your investment amount is so small that you can do it via ATM transactions, the US sees it all coming and going. It's not hidden or secret at all.
      It might feel like "how would they know", but 99% of the time, they know very well. Global money laundering laws have made banking SO transparent. There's no means of getting enough money to buy a car, let alone start a business, without both governments having to approve it.

    I dont think laws are retroactive in the States.

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  3 месяца назад +1

      They can be. They can do anything that they want. Laws are often made up after the fact (that's an official law that judges can do that.) So while a written law might not officially take effect retroactively, the US allows prosecution for laws that don't even exist on paper and are created after the "crime" has happened and you are still liable for it. There was a major case about that 2-3 years ago in Tennessee and the federal courts upheld the "the judge makes the law after the fact" was totally the official US system and as long as it doesn't violate civil rights (the law can't be racist, for example) then that's how the law works. Welcome to the "common law" world.

    Your analysis is completly wrong, because investors like legal certanty, if the bill moves Nicaragua will be seen as a very risky place to invest and not only american but most western investors will be vey weary of any investments in Nicaragua, prices will come down even more.
    Also you are not considering the most obvious reaction of the Nicaraguan Goverment to seize property of any american in place, that could easily happen, or to make the lives of americans and westeners in Nicaragua pretty awfull.
    Be advise Daniel Ortega loves his foreing pets, and has in the recent past kidnaped allies, try to keep safe.

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  3 месяца назад +2

      Good investors know that certainty = low returns. That's what "worker bees" are told when people want to manipulate them. Actual investors, those with money, those with success, look for uncertainty. That's where the money is. That's where the smart go. And smart investors know that the lack of US investments means nothing as far as risk, it lowers risk, because American investors represent higher risk for the market.
      Saying that Nicaragua "could" seize property is lazy. The US could just bomb us all. If you are just going to say "what is physically possible" and not something based on anything then you can make up anything at all. The reality is that my property in the US is at far more risk of being seized than something overseas. But ALSO reality is that the risk in the US is super low, too. If someone is saying "but random people COULD steal from you" doesn't mean anything. That's not a risk in the real world.
      That's like saying "Nicaragua could vote to be a province of Canada tomorrow." I mean... technically I suppose they could take that vote. And Canada could allow them to join. Neither thing is actually impossible. But if you suggested that, we'd just laugh because while "possible", it isn't based on any real world event.
