*Akashic Brotherhood:* We are enlightened warriors who are very bad at being pacifists *Celestial Chorus:* We believe in the Unity of faith but have trouble reconciling all its expressions *Cult of Ecstasy:* We are surprisingly wise but we have trouble staying in the moment *Dreamspeakers:* We know the borders between dreams and reality are thin, but only a skilled mediator can convince them to cross over to our aid *Euthanathos:* We are the pruners that allow karma to grow healthy, but we find the call of your grave hard to resist *Order of Hermes:* We make the biggest messes but are peerless at standardizing magical knowledge *Sons of Ether:* The creative mind can invent anything, but scalability is not our forte *Verbena:* We are enduring and accomplish the impossible by natural might, but what we ask you to sacrifice may be more than you were willing to pay *Virtual Adepts:* We manipulate the illusory universe's code to make a better reality, too bad our methods are difficult to understand and very expensive *Hollow Ones:* Whatever works, works, don't ask us for a consistent theory
Given how the objective of Ascension is to increase your knowledge and power until you reach a state of godhood, you could easily reflavor the Akashic Brotherhood as a Cultivation story.
Of all the settings in WoD I always loved Mage but never got a chance to run or play a game in it. Old school stuff still shines with originality and rad possibilities. Great vids and channel
Thank you for that, Sir. I'm dusting off Mage since we were not playing it since highschool and this is a nice ease back into the concept for my players.
I imagine a group of mages who daylight as a British rock band in the 80s, like Def Leppard, who defend themselves from vampires, werewolves, the technocracy, and Society of Leopold in their down time.
I would argue that the origins of the Hollow Ones date more back to the early Romantics of the 19th Century. In my current game set in 1895, they are under serious consideration for joining the Traditions (future betrayal notwithstanding). Of the Traditions you haven't covered in full videos so far, I'd love to see the Verbena or Sahajiya covered.
I recently discovered your channel. Please keep doing it. Do you happen to have it on Spotify or some other platform? I absolutely love your mage and wraith videos. Thank you.
They kinda degenerated into either hippies, isolated compound folks, “wiccan”-esque groups and “neo-pagan”-esque groups. In modern Mage the traditional mages are on the back foot and unlikely to recover as the world around them becomes more and more secular. The Technocracy (Tech Mages essentially) run the show now and while things are certainly not perfect even from their perspective it’s certainly their world order and they have a vested interest in protecting it from those who oppose be-it vampires, demons, werewolves, or other mages

You dare insult my paradigm Valorous Crane!? You court death!
Tremere when they see a Hermetic in their domain: ah fuck
Toreador when they see a Hollow One in their domain: ah fuck yeah
Mage lore is always on high demand! Thanks for quenching my thirst.
Uh oh Steiners
Akashic mage: “I cast magically enhanced fist”
Keep making content, not throwing shade at anyone but you’re quite the refresher from some of the other World of Darkness lore channels

Love these summaries, great for helping knew people get the gist of who they can play as.
I'm just now learning to GM WoD games, starting with mage, and your videos are SO helpful for learning the lore
You're welcome. Good luck with your game.
As per the infamous Mr Welch list, a Verbena weighs more than a duck.
I was just looking into this a couple days ago for an NPC in my VTM chronicle. Good timing!
Glad to see you chipping away at mage! One of my favorite! Dreamspeaker history is great.

I once played a ecstatic who was a traveling hypnotist of the “mundane” variety. Focused pretty heavily into the mind sphere
Great video as always. Mage always interested me but I never had the time (and courage) to dive into the lore.
Nice. Is that the black mirror soundtrack?
Best World Of Darkness Lore channel here on RUclips. By far. Always happy when I see a new one in my notifications.
The Traditions are literally the Shadow Wizard Money Gang
Thanks for this video!
Always cool to see another upload
Thank you for Upload :)

They fought a war for control of reality and lost. Vae victus.
Your audio sounds a little rough, but otherwise, good video.
Comment for the algorithm
Can we get top 10 mages from each tradition?
I would have to do some digging to get to 10, but it's certainly a possibility.
SCIENCE!
What's with the audio?
Bro, edit this.
I like your videos, but you need a better microphone. 😅
