Belal was clueless first fight with Edwards, but he improved so much since. Think this time would be a much closer fight, and nothing would surprise me, not even Belal first round KO.

Don't forget one of Leon's secret weapons for defending take downs: sticking his fingers in his opponent's gloves, followed closely by one of the most overlooked strategies in MMA, grabbing the cage to stay standing. In all seriousness though, Leon is good at take down defense on the whole, but let's not ignore the fact that he will cheat at times when doing so.

I think the main winning strategy to win this for both fighters, is to make sure they’re the one that bores the judges the least
Belal was a literal punching bag for Leon last time, if he can’t secure a takedown he’s not doing anything. Leon will pitch a shut out and possibly get a finish 🤙🏾
IMHO - Leon is physically too much, height /reach, he’s big for 170 man & he’s gotta way better arsenal in the stand up region, he has enough wrestling to stay off the canvas.

look at significant strikes for that 1 round fight. it was almost equal actually. also it was just the first round and bilal came in on short notice, leon cheated nonstop with eyepokes. Bilal has evolved a lot since, proved it from fight to fight and this is 5 rounds not 1 round. Leon was a punching bag for Usman before last seconds of round 5.

"...to turn it up..." is not some magical thing you do, with some holy chants. You actually have to PHYSICALLY --- through speed, agility, and skills --- out maneuver the other guy WITHOUT being caressed in the chin & cracked in the skull.
Both Usman and Colby, superior wrestlers (to Belal) found out you don't just keep pressuring Leon as you want: Leon's not only a natural COUNTER-STRIKER... he also is faster, more agile, taller, and rangier than Belal (or Usman or Colby).
Leon is at his very peak, at 32... Belal is at the very tail end of his, at 36.
At 6'2"& 190lb, Leon doesn't need to swing at 100% to stunt or hurt you. And this is NOT "just talking."
This man has fought and defeated everyone --- elite wrestlers, elite BJJ guys, good strikers & well rounded fighters like he himself ---- in 12 straight fights, since losing to Usman back in 2015.
Further, if Leon could take a D1 down or take an even bigger & stronger Usman down --- not even Colby tried to take Usman down --- he isn't going to be sweating fear taking Belal down, either, when/if he wants...
