- Installed a DeWalt 50' x 3/8" Retractable air hose reel in the shop. Got tired of having my air hose laying all over the floor and tripping over it. Had been wanting one of these for a while and finally got one.

Mounted mine under my workbench, unit works perfect, no more winding up hoses! Great help in my shop.
I got a hose reel from Horrible Freight a couple years ago and I love it. I mounted mine above in the center of my garage and it is so handy to reach up and pull down.
I would switch the Male and female connections around that way you don't have to keep shutting off the compressor just a idea another idea maybe do a extra hookup so you can run to hoses if you want. Keep up the great videos

I just got the same reel today. It came with a 90 deg. swivel at the connection. I hear the yellow 1" OD is a pain in the kazoo. I may put my old 3/4" OD rubber hose on it. I was trying to find a video to do that. Thanks from Northern Montana.
That hose reel should come in handy when u paint the purple bronco for COS!! 😜

I’m glad I found your video. I was looking for a easy way to hang hoses from ceiling , but only have self winding hose reel. I didn’t know dewalt hose reel was only 95.00 awesome I have lots of de was lt items in my shop 13:13
Nice shop add-on.... I have a Craftsman air hose reel at the edge of my garage door and it comes in handy... I thought the other day the "retractable" part was going to quit on me... It won't be long before I'm in the market for a new one.
You my friend will need to expand the shop soon, to hold all those fur friends! I lost count how many are out there with you!

I’ve got three of these Chinese hose reels. The reels themselves are pretty good, I haven’t had a problem yet with any of them. But be prepared to replace the hose with a good US-made Good Year hose, the one supplied won’t last more than a couple years before blowing a hole.
If any air hose lasts me that long I'll be happy LOL! I'm kind of hard on the things

Can the air part be drilled out? I'm wondering if this would make a nice welding cable reel.
When your quick coupling leaks, it's not the male end causing the problem. You need a new rubber washer in the female coupling. They used to be 5 in a package on the shelf next to the the couplers in the farm store. Now you have to find them online I guess. Still a 2 minute fix, verses tossing the coupling for a new one.
How is it holding up? I'm curious if the hose can be replaced. Since a lot of these cheaper ones the hose is permanently attached to the swivel.
Those hose reels are very nice. The leaks are annoying though. Good episode.

Teflon Tape?
This is manufactured by MATT Industries, Dewalt doesn't make anything that are no parts for this hose reel, it is not serviceable.
Who doesn't use Teflon tape?

MANUAL ROLL IS BEST AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO. I FORGOT ABOUT THE HOSE STOPPER GETTING IN THE WAY.
