Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (2003) - Easter Eggs and References you might have missed!

- The 14th video in this series is Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, where I've put together as many Easter eggs, references, and anything you might not have known, even decades later.
I've searched the internet and played through the entire game to validate each one the best I could. I can't take credit for a lot of these, I merely pooled together as many Easter Eggs into one video. Some entries may not be classed as anything of the above, but were included as a Point of Interest.

Man, I could have watched hours more of this! I genuinely did not know most of these. There is so much personality in every corner of this game.
Glad you enjoyed it, Seth McKenzie.. And thanks for sharing this video too👍👍
AoD is a huge missed opportunity. There is a lot more into this game, like unused tutorial, unused locations and so on. I bet there would be more references in Such locations.
Such a shame it all went bad. Since you could unlock some early AoD art in TRC, this means so much bad stuff happened in between 2000 and 2003.
Its also a very controversial opinion, but imo AoD (or TR6) is in my opinion the last Tomb Raider. Sure, TR7 and Underworld still follow the Lara story, but already had changed too much imo. Basically I was ready for a jump from TR5 into next-gen TR6, but wasnt ready for the jump into TR7. Not to mention I would probably never accept the reboot.
Fortunately old games are still alive thanks to TRLE. A home to many great TR Fan releases.
Yeah, it definitely is a missed opportunity. I think it was part of a planned trilogy, before it all got scrapped. And then TR The Cradle of Life film was a huge let down. Both AOD developers AND the film makers started blaming each for their poor performance.
I do agree that AoD is the last TR. The new ones are too different
they NEED to revive the series in the traditional ways
I remember finding this game super creepy when I played it first, and quite glitchy as well!
Yeah, replaying it again after all these years, I found plenty of glitches. It's amazing it got released at all.
2003 is the most importnat year of gaming for me, I started collecting gaming magazines then and started getting knowledge about our industry. Freedom Fighter, Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness, Lionheart, SIllent Hill 3...
Wow, I love Freedom Fighters! I've got that one in my collection. I want to play it at some point😄
When you showed the Lara/Kurtis Louvre scene at the end it reminded me that if you play the game at 16:9 (or any widescreen) you'll see that Kurtis "enters" the scene behind Lara by coming out of the damn wall.
Idc what anyone says, this was the most interesting tomb raider story wise and really pulled you in
All these times I’ve played I never really paid attention to things like posters and shops. Wow. Bravo! Keep it up!
Thanks, Chason Dunford😄👍
Yay! Im your 1000th subscription, cheers mate! Great work amd video
Thank you, NewB DaKoda, 😄 for the sub and cool comment. I appreciate the support, mate cheers 👍👍
Outstanding channel many thanks for all these excellent video's 😎👍
I love this game
This is so well researched i am speechless. Thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it, Figarche 🙂
Greatly appreciate all the art history knowledge!!
I love these kinds of videos and I really enjoyed yours 😍
Cheers, museic😄👍
Yay! I've been waiting for this!
I hope you enjoyed it, Mintylight😄 I would've got this video out sooner, but I couldn't do any commentary for a while due to catching a cold.
@@SalopianGamer Glad you're well now then! :)
😄👍
Cool video dude. :)
I still need to finish TR1. It scared me as a child and I started playing it on a trip a few years back but never finished it before the trip was over.
Thanks, DatCrazyNerf🙂 When you do get round to finishing it, let me know what you thought of it👍
I love this game no matter what anyone says. This game would also have been outstanding if the team had been given more time to develop it, but greed got in the way
Best Tomb Raider game to me
Great video! I knew some of them but there were also a few new ones for me. Would love to see the section of Prague too, as there are some references to Sumerian/Assyrian culture in the Strahov as well. 🥰
Hey, thanks 👍 I'm glad you enjoyed the video😀
I'm French and I didn't know Europe 2 had ever existed, but i know "virgin" ( still active today ), I'm even stunned about the graffiti on the building ! :o
I loved it !
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Consume👍 it would have been nice for Lara to explore more of Paris though. I've been there a few times in my travels and love visiting the city.🙂
You should do more videos like this based on Tomb Raider games but only upload them on Easter Days only!
thank you very much 💜💜
You're welcome, Tr Nada Qasem 🙂👍
fantastic video =D
Hey, Johnny James, glad you enjoyed the vid👍👍
Great video as always! Real shame how this game turned out. You can see the starts of what they were aiming for but had no time to finish. Really not sold on the idea of a second character though. That was a misstep.
Thanks, chloeirnes😄 Yeah, it definitely was a misstep. I think they were trying to set Kurtis up for a spinoff game or something. It really needed a few more years to make.
@@SalopianGamer Kurtis King of Krull! ;op
😆👍
Interesante,no sabía todos los detalles que mencionastes, espero un parte 2 para las obras del museo jeje
Parte 2? que podría tomar mucho tiempo para terminar. 😆
HITTING ME LIKE CRAZY. REALLY WISH THEY HAD TIME TO FINISH THIS 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩 this snd legend anniversary are MY BABIES. The FEELING of this one just omgggg. This one was SOOOO UNIQUE the soundtrack stuck to me for years
I absolutely love 26th
You could have gone even further with it...
Later parts of the game expose the Nephraim the offspring of angels and humans.
It gets into some really serious occult stuff from real world.....
The garden area is a replica of a real garden in either Austria or Germany... can't remember.
I REALLY LOVED THE GAME true it has it weaknesses but the theme and kurtis did bring some change and i loved it
It's great that Angel of Darkness is getting a lot of attention here. This and Resident Evil 6 I'm happy to know, have a lot of fans out there that support these games. I'll always defend RE 6🙂
Thanks for using my site Tomb Raider Art Encyclopendia.
nice video
Thank you, DEL ROJ, glad you liked this video too😄I wasn't sure many would be interested because it is the least popular TR game.
@@SalopianGamer Every TR video is great ;)
YEAHHH;;;;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets GOOOO
Where have these twenty years gone?
I know, right. I do wonder that myself.
I enjoyed AoD when it released though it was buggy as hell.
8:20 Astrological symbols
What about a part 2?
I could, Reimaginethesounds, maybe in the future🙂
So no easter eggs in Prague?
not hard to miss something in a game no one cares about
I care about it. So much.
What’s that building called on Easter Egg number 12 I can’t really make it out? I’m liking these interesting facts about Tomb Raider so far
I'm not really sure what the graffiti says, djevan 41598, I think it's just a random building the developers liked the look of and put in the game.
