i am so glad i can get through a 7 hour youtube analysis video without the need to go on tiktok midway through, its an awful thought knowing that people are going to grow up needing shit like skibidi toilet on the side to get through a movie or any long form content

If RUclips makes a separate app for yt shorts, then all the yt shorts people won’t be on the normal version anymore and the “featured” tab would come back

I would argue the worse victim is Media Literacy, mindless consumption of content is litteraly the opposite point of the reason the format of video was made for. Everyone has a camera but instead if a generation of srtists we get one full of the least critical veiwwers

i feel this a lot. i’m about to finish my sophomore year of high school, and i took english 3 this semester, which is usually a junior class, so a lot of the people in the class were juniors and seniors. we did a test at the beginning of the semester so the teacher could see where we were at academically. they were the easiest questions about grammar and sentence structure, stuff you should be learning in 6th or 7th grade. and apparently a lot of people did really bad on it. the people who didn’t do well (which was a good chuck of people) had to do a mini unit to refresh, and they had to relearn how to write a sentence. these 16-17 year olds had to be taught how to WRITE A SENTENCE. it was the most surreal, ridiculous thing. and it was such a disruptive, misbehaved class, so much so the teacher let me spend that class in another room and do the work online. they were a nightmare.
and i’ve also noticed my attention span worsening. i have admittedly been a bit addicted to reels even though i know how bad it is, and i deleted tiktok a while back for that exact reason. i haven’t been reading as much as i used too, but i am trying to fix that.

There's a reason I limit shorts and tiktok watching to cute animal videos, channels I already watch, or the occasional BBU devlog. That's pretty much it

just discovered your channel man! this video in particular seems to be really underappreciated which sucks but i agree wholeheartedly w/ you, your videos about horror content are the best btw and i love the comedic bits you do and (like another commenter said) your top tier yapping, thanks for giving me something to listen to while i draw and a new channel to sub to!

The fact that people sometimes genuinely show subway surfers gameplay to people while theyre like telling a story to keep them paying attention is crazy work

It's so unfortunate that most (if not all) social media has stitched short form content onto itself like a digital Frankenstein's Monster. Whether it be Shorts, Spotlight, Reels, whatever the variation, it's always a click away.

genuinely i think the best thing for that sort of stuff is to just watch longer form content/be more aware of what you're watching. just make sure you aren't watching braindead content and that at the very least it has meaning
