Good video, cheap little HF hydraulic press will do wonders and you can service your pinion bearings with it too. I do the same thing with wheel bearings using the old races to drive new bearings home.
I saw another guy just take out 1 bolt and it slid right in.Then put the last bolt in through the side. What IDK is whether or not my VB rear diff can be replaced with an older R160 with the OEM LSD in it. The old STI R160 4.11 LSD diff. just swap them out.
Contact when driving the bearing on is only made on the race, not the cage, and it is done with a sacrificial old bearing race in between. There's nothing wrong with doing it this way and you will not damage the bearing.
I like your use of the old bearing race to start the new one safely!👍

@RobHTech that's an awesome way to do it if that clears the lug!

Nice ok! What year WRX? And where did you source the Suretrac? Thanks!
Thanks for the video…
What’s the torque in ft/lbs for the side covers?
@@luisking4812 hi! 8lb-ft for the side covers. These are very easy to snap. Cleaning the threads while everything's apart helps
Awesome!
Thanks so much!
For install Bearing race never use hammer possible damage.
