For me, the greatest albums of that time were Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, Close to the Edge by Yes…and The Plan by the Osmonds. Fabulous songwriters; great rock band.
When I was about 9 years old, these guys were IT for me. I remember this came on TV and my father (who always watched the Andy Williams Show) commented "too bad, these guys used to write some good songs" . I remember doubling down on how much I liked them. I had no idea what they were singing about, but it was even cooler that my parents didn't like the song. I remember Crazy Horses being on the radio all summer long. Such a talented family. I don't know why they always had to put the "Streets of San Francisco/ Muppet Show" horn section in every song. It detracted from this song and I'm sure the brothers didn't like it either! Led Zeppelin didn't use a horn section and you know they were listening to a lot of that!
No sabia que los OSMONDS hacían tan buen Rock and Roll... Recién descubrí algunas canciones muy potentes como Crazy Horses, Last Days y Gotta Get Love... me hubiese gustado que hayan tenido mas canciones así. Mis respetos y admiración a los OSMONDS. Saludos desde Lima - Perú
I played Crazy Horses and The Plan for rocker friends a few years after the albums were recorded and they were surprised to find out it was the Osmonds. Their talent and ability to rock were truly underrated back then. I love Wayne's voice in this song!
If you allow me to count The Osmonds: PHASE III album as a whole because EVERY single song on that album is BRILLIANT, then I would honestly say that this song is the second greatest song that the guys have EVER recorded. The blending of the syncopated drum part that matches perfectly with the groovin ass guitar riff combined with the strong horn line makes this song AMAZING! For the most part I would say that the CRAZY HORSES album (once again, as a whole) would place third!
I can't believe the Osmonds don't have more fans. Back in the day, Donny's 'Puppy Love' stuff repelled fans beside young girls, and the girls only had eyes for Donny, so the rockier stuff never got appreciated. Pretty sad, I think. Personally, I enjoy all their tracks, from Go Away Little Girl to The Last Days.
My neck hurts watching them pop it back all of those times. Mercy. 😅. What a powerful song! Kinda getting some Hendrix vibes from the Osmonds of all people lol!
@OneBigFriggingDude I think u need tp speak ONLY for urself.. I realize were all differen. I realize not everyone will like all groups. But I happpen to REALLY enjoy alot of their songs. Maybe we don't takeUUseriously.. THe song speaks alot of the truth. The world itself is beautiful. But people LIKE YOU are brutal. And people of all walks of life are brutal. They happen to be a very popular group even @ their age today. Perhaps U should see them on u tube. See how audnce reacts
Just wonder how this song The Last Days got on The Osmonds album. Since this song is not very Osmond more a rock beat, not a clean wholesome type of song. There father did the deciding on what songs were appropriate for his boys to be playing. Just a question I have in my mind.
the whole "The Plan" album is extraordinary
I agree! It was amazing.

I remember this song back in the 70s on an album that I had back in the 80s

So relevant today. This song was way ahead of the times
THIS VIDEO ROCKS!!! IT'S JUST ANOTHER DIMENSION ON HOW TALENTED THIS FAMILY REALLY IS!!!!
They were way ahead of their time.
This song is ABSOLUTE BOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the greatest Osmonds songs ever recorded.

I love Wayne's voice in this song!
Oh,YES he´s great, and so is The Plan, every song they wrote back in 1873!! Love from Sweden (not Schwitzerland) :D
Cool! I been listening to this for 50 years and never seen this video.

I watched this very rendition of “Last Days” on American Bandstand and my mom was terrified!!! Ha
I saw it on the Donny & Marie show it was Friday night so cool
Way ahead of their time for sure!
Yeah, I did the exact same thing. It TOTALLY blew my friends away!
Way ahead of their time
You can say that again...
one of the very few with Wayne in lead
The seventies were so cool that even The Osmonds were allowed to rock out from time to time. Classic.
I can't believe the Osmonds don't have more fans. Back in the day, Donny's 'Puppy Love' stuff repelled fans beside young girls, and the girls only had eyes for Donny, so the rockier stuff never got appreciated. Pretty sad, I think.

Their reputation ruined the rock part of their music.
You, know, I've liked the Osmonds since the early 70's, and never knew they were actually musicians. Color me embarrassed.
Just wonderful.
the first time (when I was ebout 14) this song frightened me !!! now is cool - ok I love it -
My neck hurts watching them pop it back all of those times. Mercy. 😅. What a powerful song! Kinda getting some Hendrix vibes from the Osmonds of all people lol!
Love watching Jay in this video. So Fine!
Lynjef7 Hi Anna Thanks for making this video
AMEN, me too!!!!
Quite possibly the strangest video I have ever seen. And the predictions are strangely coming true today.
Not strange. The world is ending soon, thank God.
8/18/22 SPOT ON FOR TODAY 😐
I remember watching this episode on The Donny & Marie show, holy cow.
5 STARS
Wayyyyyyyy ahead of it’s time, I mean Black Sabbath would have been proud! Osmonds stop way before they could have peaked...
Today.... this song is more rethan ever.

This had to have been overdubbed for the D and M Show. Wayne sounds like he has a cold.

The Osmonds always had 1 spiritual song on each album. Not necessarily gospel but relating to the lord.
@@cindyerick2968 This entire album was about their beliefs. The album "The Plan" was their view of what the plan of life looked like.
I’ve been an Osmond fan for over 50 years. I still have over 30 albums on cd cause I wore out the vinyl’s.
Jay I love you
Is this their attempt at hard rock/heavy metal?
An attempt? Pretty successful listening to it (and the album it came from).
Do you know what year this is from?
1972 Crazy Horses l.p. Video from The Donny and Marie Show 1976.
@@purplebritActually, 1973 The Plan album.
Is it any wonder that no one took the Osmonds seriously? This song is brutal...
