Yes. All of her music feels like home. She is a staple in all soulful and/or R&B homes. You will hear at least one Anita Baker song at a cookout, family reunion, or holiday get-togethers. I would definitely say she is in the talks when mentioning Patti LaBelle and Chaka Khan. Joe got it right on the last video. Her voice is different and you can tell it's her. She has depth, a different tone, and dimension in her voice. Beautiful.

When I was in the USAF and CD’s were the newest thing, I had Anita Bakers Rapture album on repeat play, low volume all night long. I had my own dorm room due to my security clearance. So I understand that “home” feeling you were describing. Thanks for the memories!

Anita has that soulful Jazzy sound. This entire album is fantastic 👌 👏. I listen to it in my car. Love me some Anita Baker. I saw her in Vegas a couple of years back. Her voice makes you feel what she is singing. She absolutely draws you in, and you get lost in the music.

Yes as a Detroiter Anita is home it is the D and the one your friend has as tattoo is that D. Anita is a hometown girl she still living in the city I believe. P.S. in Detroit we mainly roller skate so she was at roller rink

I went and checked out Annahstasia. I really enjoyed her voice. She doesn’t sound a lot like Anita but I can def hear what you were thinking about. To me she sounds like Sade Corinne Bailey Rae and Anita all mixed together.

Mike has a band. I think Joe (glasses one) is his manager. They're brothers. A few.weeks ago Mike was doing some concerts in several U.S states.
Mike has said his band was once signed with LA Reid's label who has produced for artists like Toni Braxton, Usher, Pink, OutKast, TLC etc but it fell through when he left the label. The people there didn't believe in them like Reid did.
