- Amanda Bradshaw's arrangement of "Lift Every Voice and Sing" originally written as a poem by James Weldon Johnson and later set to music by his brother John Rosamond Johnson.
Lift Ev'ry Voice - considered the Black National Anthem - is a masterpiece born out of the Black experience and has served as a beacon of hope, perseverance, and strength for those disenfranchised folks over the last 100+ years. As we face challenging times in our world, we turn to this hymn to direct our path and re-galvanize our efforts in creating a better place where each of us have our full humanity.
This arrangement was part of the We Will Rise Summit: Black Artists and the Soul of Our Music. Watch the full event here:

B👏🏾E 👏🏾 A👏🏾 UTIFUL vocalists!!! You are living legacy✨
The riffs and runs in this rendition are sublime
Lift every voice and sing
Till earth and Heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty
Let our rejoicing rise,
High as the listening skies
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea
Sing a song
full of the faith
that the Dark past has taught us
Sing a song
full of the hope
that the present has brought us
Facing the rising sun
Of our new day begun
Let us march on till victory is won
-- 1900, James Weldon Johnson
