I have a way easier fix for this than all these videos and it doesn't require any disassembly.
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Hold the headset upside down.
3. Spam the sh** out of the switch by moving it on/off repeatedly. This likely grinds and shakes out any debris that's in there.
4. Reconnect the Battery, then turn it on.
Done!
Un grand merci de France !
Thanks a bunch! This worked for me on my G935~
THANK YOU!
you Sir have exactly the Fix i was hoping to find and it worked!
Thank you very much this helped me a lot
Worked like a charm, and this has been plaguing me for the last year.
This was really informative. Thank you. Appreciate it. Short and to the point
Cheers mate! Thanks you.
Omg ur the best. I dropped my headset in a cabinet 2 years ago and never looked back at it. Ive been searching for multiple days and weeks to ge this thing fixed and this finally helped. Thanks a lot u mean the world to me this saved me another 140 buck. I also used a little toothbrush to work away all the sticky dust and parts that connected on the motherboard
This worked perfectly! Thanks for the info! I also resorted to Reddit and they explain it but your video shows angles and such. I was pressing a little weird and my angles were off so it didn't do anything after turning it on more than twice. The most I got it to work for the 4th time was about a week but then the problem occured. Something about the cleaning seems to do the trick! very clear sound in the right speaker and things seem okay! Great video!
You're welcome mate, Cheers!
THANK YOU! I was looking for this info everywhere.
Glad I could help!
Did this on my G935, knew the switch was the issue since turning it on and the sound wouldn't come through or you could barely hear it. Layout is a relatively the same and glad to see it was just a dirty switch, ipa on it and switching it on and off repeatedly did the trick. Reminds me of when I use to fix gameboys.
Guys, if you want to replace this switch with a brand new one, it's model number is MSK-42D01
Where did you get it?
Legend. Tyvm, well said :)
I've been struggling with both my G933 and later on the G935, this helped IMMENSELY, thank you so much
Glad I could help
Thanks man, helps a lot!
You're welcome!
It actually works. Thanks a lot!
Cheers!
This is the one thank you so much.
Worked great. Word to the wise - make sure that the ribbon cable is ALL the way in when you're putting it back together. This caused me some momentary panic.
Excellent!
Thanks! I was going to replace mine but now they are working 100% again
Glad I could help
Nice video, i tried using petrol to clean the switch but i couldnt really see what i was doing, so i used my lighter to shine some light on the headset and the thing burst into flames which spread throughout my house rapidly using the fuel i had spilt on the floor trying to fill the spray bottle.
The clothes i was wearing also caught alight as the fire spread up my arm from my hand which was covered in fuel, my whole family basically burned alive while i just barely escaped with 3rd degree burns over 87% of my body.
The cries of my children burning to death still haunt me.
thanks.
Cheers for the help. Will try it today. I also got another problem
Lost my dongle and got a Logi one and tried using the Unify app but doesn't pair to the headphones. Can someone help?
Thank you 🍻
Thank you so much, 7 year old headset and they sound brand new again.
I actually had some small corrosion on the pins on the underside of the switch, Also, the top of the traces required cleaning. I just used 99% Rubbing Alch and a q-tip. (I know, I know. I removed the fibers afterwards)
:Happy Cry:
this solution in the video is only temporary for a short time.
It has nothing to do with dirt or solder joints.
You can open the switch all the way and there are small wires that will bend over time. Bend these again a bit and assemble them.
It worked for me with W40 I did this and work for a time but latter star failing again I need ti try this option to see wit Petrol, thanks

Am I the only one who is having serious problems unscrewing the headset top off I really can't seem to turn the screws with the screw drivers I have got. Does anyone have any advice on what I should use ?
probably yes, philips screwdrivers come in various depths, which might cause you to round out the screws, please find the correct philips screw driver to open it.
Yes, your method of cleaning with wd40. I did one better i blew out switch with air to get rid of execess lubricant
My volume wheel is buggy ( volume jumps up and down)
You can clean it with isopropyl alcohol after disassembly to remove dust and grit which is the primary cause of this problem
What is the reason/problem...? How do you make a product soooo bad. What's behind it.
98.5% of the negative properties listed do not exist at all with this headset.
Any headset even a $350 headset can be talked about as badly as they do.
Don't be like me and lose one of thr springs in the power switch
Sorry to hear that mate
Y don't u throw some fire after spraying petrol that gonna result into permanent fix 🐼😎😎
Nice tip! I will add it in the updated video
