Sands of Time by the modern thrash masters, Sylosis! Been trying to work on my picking hand chops lately, so I decided to take on this long-time favorite song of mine. Definitely some tasty lead playing in this, but the riffs really steal the show; really top-tier rhythm guitar work from Josh Middleton.
Edge of the Earth is hands down my favorite Sylosis record-listened to it many, many times back in high school, and there was a stretch where I'd try to riff along to the album in full on an almost daily basis. This album is truly special; peak Josh Middleton riffs, leads, and vocals, as well as in my opinion his strongest songwriting ever. Had a really great time returning to this record all these years later!
On another note, this is my first time trying out a new string company, The String Source! Really love how bright and crisp these strings sound, plus it’s really cool to be able to get a fully customized set which they were kind enough to put together for me.
