I’m actually really impressed with Zero. He’s not playing from practicing the character for hours and hours. He at best knows a couple of Diddy combos but he’s only being carried from his fundamentals alone.
Fully agree. His Diddy aint optimal at all contray to his Smash 4 iteration but he stil makes it work.
yeah that’s how i play, i sort of just go on auto pilot and sometimes it doesnt work and you have MAJOR slumps but then you get out of the slump way better than before
I appreciate your sentiment but I really think you're downplaying Zero, even though he hasn't been grinding like the pros he's still been playing since launch. To say he's being carried by fundamentals alone is kind of insulting. He has a lot of experience with his characters as well as an incredible game sense.
Gsurfer5 he has a lot of experience yeah, but he barely knows how to play Diddy. For the most part, he’s just trying to play Sm4sh Diddy. Not to mention he’s pretty good with Wolf but he doesn’t do difficult kill confirms, crazy Wolf Flash combos, shine combos, he’s just kinda picking up and playing Wolf.
@@botanicalabe He made a guide on how to play Diddy back 2019, yeh its outdated now but he's still been playing and keeping up to date with the meta so you can't say he "barely" knows how to play him. Also to say he only knows a "couple" combos "at best" is also just straight up wrong. I felt I needed to stick up for him because you're opinion is obviously a popular one and if he does agree with it I think its a very weak mindset for him to have going into a tourny. If he doesn't agree with you then at least im sticking up for him. Zero has way more potential than people give him credit for and when it comes to ultimate he has amazing knowledge, experience and fundamentals. Talking about his wolf is going off on a tangent from the point im trying to get across but what I will say is, yeh his wolf isn't tweeks but flash combos aren't optimal in a tourny setting. And he isn't just "picking up and playing wolf" wolf used to be his main and he even took leo to a game 5 back in summit last year.
I think now that ZeRo has grown his fanbase, he will never have a crowd cheering against him
There is always going to be that crowd but there' also the one that supports you that's going to be more large probably to zero in this present

Zero is good but if he were to go to an in person tournament with top players like gluttony, tweek, leo, nairo, etc. He would not place well compared to them. They have thousands of more hours than zero does playing the game against much higher quality opponents than the random people zero plays on elite smash. He's equally talented as the top players but he's simply out of practice

To me that doesn't look like "out of practice".
Zero might be able to do well against pros on wifi but in person tournaments are a different deal altogether. Just look at the quarantine series results. The amount of “upsets” are insane. Samsora lost to some Ganondorf, Leo got beat by best ness piranha plant, and kola won the whole thing despite not even being top 10. It can’t be a coincidence that these all happened during the first big WiFi tourney. WiFi and irl just aren’t the same when it comes to top play.
@@Bigcubefan he beat them on wifi with weird funny tricks that wouldn't work across a best of 5 set in person. He would have no chance to beat them in person at a real tournament. He might be top 50 or even better if he tried though like I said he's obviously very talented, but he's a year and a half behind in terms of competitive irl experience, and the top 20 players would beat him consistently

I remember watching the tournament where ZeRo fought MKLeo and I thought that would be the only time I’d see those two and now I’m watching one of the best smash players with a RUclips channel
This was SUCH a good vid the energy between them and the hype game 5 was “pristine”. Can’t wait to see his tournament journey. Win or lose, it’s gonna be some great content for sure

My expectation: Serious sessions with alot of coaching and giving tips to eachother
Reality: 2 Guys focussing more on trash talking than on actually playing

Mind games are half of competitive anything. And it's not like either guy needs much coaching. They were the top dogs in smash 4.
That's the point is to trash talk each other to play your hardest. You don't want to lose to someone who's talking shit lol. It adds an element of pressure, which is the biggest difference between friendly friendlies and tournaments (obviously not to the same level, but they're trying to replicate it as much as possible). You can see how much it hurts Zero when he loses.
They understand the technical aspect already so now its the head game and trying to outsmart and outplay each other they coach by calling e/o's failures out so they can try to improve that aspect or summn like that lol
Is cool that you two had so much fun in a Tournament Match and not a quiet serious match. Your Rival was very OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH on 10% of my sound volume XD. Good luck ZERO for the Next Tournament Matches
