Glad to see another guy running a 20 round AR mag on the belt. Our setups are so similar it crazy. It's why I clicked on the video when I saw the thumbnail.
Made a huge difference when I switched to the 20 on the belt. Always had issues with a 30 bumping my vest. Some of my team mates run 20s in the gun and on the belt. Only have to knock your elbow on the mag so many times before you switch it out😂
I’m a cop just north of you, I’ve shot at the ranch before 😂. I run the EXACT same belt and similar setup pouch wise Good video! I’m always looking for more LEO content.
I just use the basic smith and Wesson cuffs cause they’re cheap and they work well. I’ve heard good things about the peerless cuffs also which are more expensive but significantly lighter.
So I think that sorta depends on where it’s mounted on your hip. For me, it’s directly at 3 o clock and I don’t have ANY issues with it jabbing into my thigh. I know some people run their holster a little farther forward which would probably cause it to jab into your leg but I don’t think you could get anything to prevent that if you run it further forward
@@Officercake thank you, I’m waiting to find out if I can get a different duty belt. As of right now we still have to use the traditional style leather belts with the brass hook buckles.
@@HeatOfTheHunt if you can man, I really like this defense mechanisms belt, but there are tons of great options. I think the true north concepts holster adapter is pretty much standard for most people now.
Just an important note. Glock mags are the most reliable on the planet. Magpul Glock mags are not even a close second. You are introducing a point of failure that doesn’t need to exist. I strongly urge you to carry Glock factory mags on duty.
Soooo i've had no issues with them in my personal experience. I also haven't seen anything that indicates that. Where are you pulling this idea from? Genuine question. Not saying your wrong. I'd just like a bit more context on where that comes from.
@@Officercake our range is concrete, multiple guys I work with have had them crack. I have a photo of one that went vertical down ever spine and almost split the mag in half. Largest PD agency in the country for reference.
@@nyrangeguy3194 I mean, yeah, that would suck. But that’s also why I have my duty mags and then I have training mags. If my duty mag splits after hitting the ground cause I had to reload in a shooting, I’m not really too worried about it.
@@Officercake honest question. What does a p mag give you a Glock mag doesn’t? I don’t care either way, but cops make dumb decisions bc they see other guys running certain gear.
@@nyrangeguy3194 brother, they’re magazines. As long as they feed the gun reliably that’s all that matters. In terms of why I started running them, it’s literally as simple as I got them for free at the end of a class, tested them at the range later, decided that they do in fact feed the gun, so I run them.

You try the bang hanger?
I have not
What brand of handcuffs do you recommend?

I had a question for you- What department are you in and what time do you work?
I’m not gonna talk about what department I work for on social media(it’s a large city) but I work during the day.
@@Officercake Alr that's fine, Thanks!
Bro that's a crazy question to ask a stranger on the internet 😂.
@@abc4781 yea ik, but my curiosity 😅
How much do you actually train with your pistol and a carbine with said belt?
I try and go every week if ammo permits. I don’t wear the vest every time but I try and train with the vest atleast once a month.
How is the True North MHA comfortably while riding in a vehicle?

Do you shoot any competitions?
I do! Just for fun though and to get reps under stress with my duty setup. I am looking to build out a who setup just for competition though.
