The movement the pose creates is amazing. They really nailed the color too. Wonderful piece to any collection. Congratulations. I'd love to see the rest of your collection please.
I honestly don't think there could be a better representation of Dazzler. Very happy they went with the true classic first appearance costume. Maybe one day I'll delve into the collection. Thank you for checking out the video
Thank you for sharing your Dazzler! Mine arrived a few days ago - #296. I have not unboxed her yet as I am still building the display case. She will have an acrylic box for dust protection, and as you mentioned, given the overall height of @ 32 inches it won't be easy or cheap but she is worth it. I'll have her on a motorized, remote-controlled base, there will be various LED spotlights, and I'm working on a speaker/player system to have about a dozen classic disco songs to play as she slowly rotates. To accompany all this are acrylic display stands for the new Dazzler Compendium and a pristine copy of her first issue comic. If it results in looking as good in real life as it does in my imagination, I will be happy to also basically end my statue collecting hobby. Your collection looks great! Enjoy your Alison!
Wow that sounds like it's going to be really impressive and this is worth it. Hopefully you'll share the set up once done. I find that it's nice to have these youtube videos for reference and to just see the statues whether you have them in box or just to refresh your memory and love of them.
If only I could afford that. Technically I could, but I have some other pieces coming soon that aren't paid for yet. Need what I have for those. Hopefully she is still available by the time I have $ again. I'm not even necessarily a Dazzler fan, ( I like her and all ) I just like the fun 70's vibe, the sculpt and portrait is great, and I like all of the art on the old Dazzler covers.
It does capture the 70's Farrah fawcett hair and the shiny bell bottom jump suit. Love it. I actually flexed her for 8 months. It's a lot to shell out at once. She's worth it because there probably won't be another Dazzler statue again.
😁😁Yep there is really no middle ground with this character. I really wish that she had a good writer to explore more of the stories when she and Guido were performing and he was her bodyguard. Think those could've been entertaining in a She-Hulk kinda way. Yes the statue is gorgous.
@@grphyx1 i stopped collecting in the 90s (cross-over-mania killed my interest entirely) but i always felt like whe was just not needed in a world that had cyclops, havok, and eventually jubilee (daz light). even the stuff with longshot just made me like him less.
@@megaflux7144 I totally understand. She is definitely a character that you're either a fan or you don't get her relevance at all. I myself am in the "I absolutely love her" category. I only stopped fully collecting about 4 years ago, having started in the 70's. I also do the artist alley at the local convention whenever I have enough new art to showcase. One great thing about longshot is that he introduced us to Mojo and the badass Spiral.
@@megaflux7144 I look on those years and think, you gotta appreciate the good that came out of the oversaturation...Domino, Deadpool, Cable, Feral to name a few. Thanks for the chat yo. Always nice to get a comic collector's view on things
I never understand why people pay such a high price for Sideshow statues. I see much better ones done by 3d printer/painters that blow sideshow away. That one I think looks terrible, looks like a generic paint job that a machine did.
@figuresix everybody had their preference. If you like the 3rd party companies and you join in on social media markets, then enjoy them. This was a character that I wanted, and a long time SS customer and I'm very happy with their products, so I have statues from them but I also have from Attakus, PCS, HCG, Gentle Giant, Bowen, DC Collectibles, Tweeterhead, PokemonCenter aka kotibukiya, so I'm an equal opportunity collector
