I just sent a message to one of our users. The user didn't receive the message. Then I tried to send a message from this user to myself. The user got the error notification that he/she can't send messages to chats that have been archived. So after unarchiving the chat between that user and myself, I was able to send myself a message from that user. 2 issues: - it's strange that a user should unarchive a chat before being able to send a new message - it's strange that i don';t get a notification if one of our users is not able to receive my message because he/she archived our chat I'm not reporting this as bug anymore, because it takes me too much time to answer all simple questions of BuddyBoss support before they start looking into bugs and issues.

@@BuddybossWP If the video-built in arrives it will change the game for a lot of potential customers and make them decide to go with BB 😉 Right now most users have to switch to other tools like Better Messages which has video already. Its a good too but the design does not match BB messaging style yet. Its good to hear that you added it to the Roadmap, once its here it will be a no-brainer to go with BuddyBoss!

Finally! In the video it says to select two of the checkboxes in the Pusher app settings, but in the WordPress Pusher options page it says there are three options to check. Can you please clarify if we need to be checking two boxes in the app settings or three? Thanks.
Hey, thanks for the comment. On Pusher - you need to enable 2 checkboxes. "Enable Client Events" and "Enable Authorized Connections" In WordPress - BuddyBoss Platform > Integrations > Pusher - you need to add the App ID, App Key, Secret Key and select the Cluster. After this, press Save. Then enable the Live Messaging feature. Check out our documentation link (in the description above) if you need direct instructions.
The "Online Now" indicator is working, but the live messaging is not. I still have to reload the page. My settings say I integrated Pusher correctly...any idea what's up?
I was able to update BB, Pro and the BB theme but the messaging only allowed me to send 1 message but no more, even after a browser refresh/f5. I've logged a support ticket

Hi @BuddyBoss, I have a question about the security of the messaging section. I am using the buddyboss platform on my website. I am a web developer as well as a penetration tester. While sending a message to another member I have checked the request in Burp Suite and found that the content is not encrypted and I can easily modify the request and send the message. Is this a vulnerability or security issue? Or are there any settings on buddyboss to enable encryption while sending messages on the system?

What is defined as a concurrent connection? If I had 100 users all with a chat tab open on their browser, but not tying anything, does that count? Or is it only counted if 100 people are actively writing and receiving messages? And what happens if you go over the 100 concurrent connections limit. Will the 101th visitor have to wait in line and not receive the message instantly until the queue clears up, or will it just not work anymore for them and they'll have to refresh the browser?
Great question. Concurrent users are visitors who has the website open on an active tab - but if they switch tab, it goes inactive. If you have 101 concurrents, then that 1 user would get the fallback method - which is essentially the original way messaging worked (You'd need to refresh the page, no typing indicator etc) Of course, at that point if you were regularly getting more than 100 concurrents - you could choose to upgrade the Pusher to Start-Up package. This includes 1 million daily messages/events (up from 200k) and 500 concurrents.

I don’t like the design of the messaging interface. Should have displayed messages at alternating sides of screen like On most messaging apps so you better see who sent what. Also, a bubble around the text would give a better visual aid. Small things like these that people are use to make a difference.
