“I got a right to sing the blues” - great song. Also done by Sinatra who - in spite of being awesome - did not have an ounce of blues in his bones. The real thing is the “Cootie and Rex” version with arrangements and sweeping modulations by arranger Ernie Wilkins. Possibly the best jazz record of all time. (There are a few of those)
If this isn't a blues I'm a cloth cap. The 'Blues" doesn't just mean a 1-4-5- chord progession...the blues is a fucking feeling...go back to school....listen to some fucking records chief
Dave Kikoski.... man is a savage
Two of my all time favorite solos in one live performances
Kikoski is such a friggin badass

Y’all shitting on the kid in the front row for looking bored but in reality I bet he plays tenor and just realized how much more he needs to shed 😂
It's probably way past his bedtime too...
I know that look…very similar to my look now. 😎
Lol! Probably true.
REAL NICE
Just tons of feeing!
Harold Arlen & Ted Koehler wrote the tune for Earl Carroll's Vanities (1932). The boys did it proud.

I''m sorry, they're playing standards, not blues. Your friendly pedant.

Jonathan Harms nah... playing “the blues” or “a blues” is different from “blues” as a genre
