    Interesting comments on the "gaming"...I have been shooting some USPSA matches this year, and enjoy the opportunity to move and shoot, but the scene is kind of hard to take sometimes....some of these guys take themselves too seriously.....

    Can we PLEASE push to have at least ONE per year in Phoenix!? There is a huge veteran/shooter base out here, and we rarely have anything good! No silkie hikes, no gorucks, no shooting comps(outside of USPSA/IDPA), etc. We always have to travel far for the good stuff, and yet we have perfect weather for all of this in the winter. Very few handgun/rifle/knife restrictions in Arizona as well. Great airport for traveling in and out, easy to get around, etc. We have ranges galore! TONS of area to setup shop for this type of event.

    Looks like a lot of fun. I have been doing really good with fitness; down 113 pounds getting strong and fast. This is Eric, was at your and twangnbang shoot and talked with you at the Brownells hangout in Indy.

    I had pretty much the same experience with IDPA. I love this concept; you have to be a good shooter AND in shape! :)

    they did fucked up the first day when they made intermediate do the first battle with 150lbs bags instead of something more reasonable. that was actually the reason why some intermediate quit the first day. not saying they should make it easy because it's the tactical games, but that particular weight broke a lot of people since if you can't pick up, shoulder and walk that weight then you have to drag which took a lot of time and more tiring. that said, the event is still new and they are still figuring things out, I will continue to participate because the community is amazing

    Absolutely loved the retro gear. That was the LBE I started with so long ago, then transitioned to ALICE gear and so on. Adding the bayonet was perfect.

    Dude....the info given regarding the physical abilities needed to complete the battles has either changed dramatically or these guys are freaks of nature.
    A year after this vid, same venue, there were no "dad bods" and the physical demands were friggin legit

    10 min splits with 50 lb packs, i assume as well as a rifle, a pistol and 15+ lb plate carriers seems like a little better than reasonable shape. Im not saying its not achievable but you'd need to have no muscular or orthopedic issues and you'd really need to train well to do that and have two full days of fight left in you. Light division for me please.

    Some of the rules in "gun games" are really ridiculous. Glad I'm not the only one that sees "gun games" don't really help you.

      @Jim Beam haha why does him wanting to practice on his own make him a bad ass operator? In events like that, you are putting a lot of trust in complete strangers to operate their firearms safely.

    • @christopherrowley7506
      @christopherrowley7506 4 года назад

      @Jim Beam That's a good point and I agree. I was just saying, what you said "You train on your own to retain and reinforce what you learn". This was just in the context of mr mozzberg here saying he didn't want to take part in "gun games" events, and I think that's fair enough. Doesn't mean he's arrogant or anything. He never said he didn't want to get training, just that instead of practicing in events he preferred practicing alone.
