I just want you to know you forgot to mute & deafen yourself while you recorded this and I very well could have unmuted myself and yelled literally anything while you were recording this but gg
Hi, great video, I'm learning a lot about the game thx to you. Could you do an up to date hammer guide? It's my favourite weapon but I'm having trouble deciding wich hammer, armor and cells to use. Keep up the good work!
Cool video as always. So when i hit tails with hammer, i see yellow damage but i hear ppl saying all the time that hammers dont ever cut off tails. Does that mean that you are just helping with the dmg it takes for the tail to be severed and you cant cut it in solos for example?
First of all thanks to your sword guide build - killed ragetail in 2 mins) What is your opinon on Godhand? Where it can be used? Ive upgraded mine to +10 and got disapointed with its dmg.
May I ask for a link to these spreadsheets? Not that I don't trust you, I'd just like to see the numbers. Well presented as always, and thank you for the update. Have a like for your efforts.
Hey Fayd, would you consider a War Pike set/guide that focuses on Savagery? Once you get a wound, Savagery +6 would double damage output to "the green bar" on that spot, if the perk does what it says it does. Would making a wound quickly (maybe with help of Barbed/Acidic) make you able to more dps over the rest of the fight than what you get from a Ragehunter set? Or is Pike dps just not high enough to even look into it? You could of course combine Ragehunter with Savagery to maybe find some middle ground... I'd be really interested to see what you have to say about that :)
it just increases damage against wounded parts. green damage isnt part damage. any description that includes "part" or "parts" or "part damage" generally excludes green damage entirely.
Fayd-YT Right, but that's why it works so well. AFAIK, it increases (green) _damage_ when hitting wounded parts (the description doesn't mention part damage). So if you focus on wound damage at the start (Acidic 3, a tonic), you can then wail on it for double damage until the parts break (and part damage isn't that high on pike, even less so with Acidic 3). I've been trying it out for a while now, I've been getting the gold slayer medal pretty much all the time, even when hunting with axe and sword users (although I'm aware that this works best in solo play).
green damage is the same no matter where you hit. part damage changes depending on what part you hit and with which weapon. if you want to know your green damage for any given attack, just get green damage once then do the math. a sword left click that shows part damage does the same green damage as a sword left click that shows green damage. there is no set percentage to do different damage compared to different parts. for general percentages vs parts that a weapon has no bonus against u would have to ask ketil or do the math yourself :P.
How does status proc work in this game ? Like how and when does a behemonth catch fire, does different weapons have different status mechanic ? i know the hammers shot deal status dmg, but what about pikes and swords ? do they have hidden status numbers per hit, or is it just their heavy attacks ?
late reply but from whats been tested its only about number of hits in X time. fire takes twice as much compared to shock/ice and if you dont hit for x time counter will reset. consecutive debuffs takes about twice as many hits. skarn took about 30 hits to get shocked first time, about 60 second time and over hundred for third shock.
Insightful video! Do you/anyone knows by any chance if quilshot (behemoth) does armour piercing dmg? it seems to hurt quite abit more compared to others of its tiers.(Hunting it with T5 +5 all slots on my gear) Maybe its just my imagination though.
Well around 3:25 he says "that part now takes 50% more damage from normal weapons and 25% more damage from pikes" He never stated whether yellow dmg only or both green and part damage is increased. He only said that single part would take more damage, its like the drask unique effect where head takes 20% more damage but i just want a clarification on whether the extra damage effects the green bar as well
night 501 it's like stagger, for example when you hit a behemoth enought times with a blaze weapon it will catch on fire and take damage, if you do that with a shock weapon it will zap it and leave it stunned on the ground for a few seconds and if you use a cold weapon for that it will slow it's attacks, movements and everything. Though I'm not an expert or anything but so far this seems like it
Dima duuh I assume whatever bars is left for the 50% buff, for example ; the legs has been wounded and a sword user will deal 50% extra yellow dmg until yellow bar is depleted and then moving on to deal 50% more damage to the green bar (judging by the numbers I've seen popping out by my team, I'm a pike dude so don't quote me on that. ) *Edit : Apparently the bonus damage only applies to part damage (Yellow #)
Something I'm still really confused about is if green damage isn't inflicted with wound damage but is with part damage, does that mean acidic would lower your green damage since it converts part damage to wound damage? You say part damage is separate from green damage yet when you say "wound damage has absolutely no effect on the green bar at all" which makes me think that part damage does in fact affect the amount of green damage. So which is it? Do you always do the same amount of green damage or does increasing part damage increase green damage as well therefore meaning acidic lowers green damage?
Well i am not very sure if acidic lower the green dmg, but since the description say trade part dmg for wound dmg, i guess is safe to asume do not touch the green dmg.
Heads get the most stagger damage and after that legs. Other parts don receive any excdpt you have flat stagger through the weighted strikes cell maybe. Also weapons do different amounts. Hammers > Axes > Swords > Chains/ Pikes (both deal almost none or none)
Instead of constantly clicking white color in order to erase things, you can use RMB to use "Color 2" which is white by default. Literally unwatchable.
IIdk, i think it actually gets easier because the blue bar resets when the behemoth gets staggered, so you can land free stagger damage while it's down
I main hammer, with a +6 Knockout King cell. Can tell you that while I may be able to put in at least 5k stagger damage while said behemoth is staggered, it *does not* seem to compute, or, at least, seems to be taken into consideration for HP calculation, meaning behemoth HP increases.
Yeah stagger damage gets ignored while the behemoth is staggered(but not if stunned through some other way, like interrupts or shock paralyzes), and is also ignored during the first roughly 10 sec of an enrage.
That's a very nice lookin' behemoth.
itsbenxii it's the upcoming higher tier than heroic behemoth, probably called Legendary 😅
That looks like ragetail. 100% accurate. Worthy of an art museum.
Looks like a embermane to me
Charrog!
Thanks for making this vid. This helps explain A LOT of things concerning damage.
I just want you to know you forgot to mute & deafen yourself while you recorded this and I very well could have unmuted myself and yelled literally anything while you were recording this but gg
End Game Behemoth Confirmed!
I knew all this but still watched the entire video for some reason.
my mesmerizing artwork.
RIP I'm color blind they all look gray to me...
Otasi Vateh I'm colorblind too and able to understand, are you monochromatic
A how to draw guide, just what i needed!
Where’s the other 2 🦵 legs
The videos seem kinda ghetto but the info is good shit. Thanks
You can tell that this is definiteetitely Stormclaw
That ending sounded unusually ominous. xD

Thanks for the insight! Those mouse writing skills
Cool video as always.

Wounded parts only take additional part damage, not all damage.
Green damage isnt the same everywhere. You deal different green damage to different parts.
that is an art master piece
extremely helpful and great art 👌 thicc
Man that's a nice behemoth
I thought that was a casserole in the thumbnail
if i hit a weak to shock behemoth with fire weapon its the same as if i was hitting it with a neutral weapon ?
Nice info and Behemoth.

How do I get glistening fur?.....I’ve done so many ragetail fights and I’ve only ever gotten 1 outta like 30ish fights.....
break more parts. its an rng drop.

lemme c if i can find it for ya

Thanks much. I really appreciate the effort you put into this, man. Keep up the good work!

The wording for savagery doesn't specify part damage so I think it's safe to assume it buffs green damage.
Reapeth Yes, exactly.
So how does savagery work? And why do parts still smoke even though they've been broken?
(Noob pike main here)
You forgot about the damage hammer does to skarns plates.
FUCK SKARN MAAAAAAAAAAAAN. true though. but its still part damage, those are just different kinds of parts i guess?
Hopefully its a mechanic for future encounters having more variety.
do we know what % of part damage goes to health damage?
excelent video btw

War pike heavy atack can cut parts too

Johan yeah he does a lot more damage than any other be he month with good gear equipped.
When I first noticed I was like wtf?!? lol
Should I hit in the legs with the axe ?
When a part is wounded, is yellow damage increased(part dmg) or is both part damage and green damage increased(health damage)
mtRambo from what i heard, only part dmg
part dmg
only part...he said it like 3 times dude xD
Well around 3:25 he says "that part now takes 50% more damage from normal weapons and 25% more damage from pikes" He never stated whether yellow dmg only or both green and part damage is increased. can you make a short video to explain how element status work?

i can but ye its basically stagger.
ugliest illustration i've ever seen, 10/10 learned a lot.
One Question, Can I Turn The Damage # Off ?
no clue x.x
OK, Thanks, I'll keep looking or try it myself then :-)
will the part what got the wounded status get 50% and 25% increased green damage?
Dima duuh I assume whatever bars is left for the 50% buff, for example ; the legs has been wounded and a sword user will deal 50% extra yellow dmg until yellow bar is depleted and then moving on to deal 50% more damage to the green bar (judging by the numbers I've seen popping out by my team, I'm a pike dude so don't quote me on that. )
*Edit : Apparently the bonus damage only applies to part damage (Yellow #)
kk thanks
green damage is totally separate from yellow and shouldnt be impacted by wounds to my knowledge.
Its really dumb that status and stun is a damage threshold. Instead of how many hits you do.
I come from Warframe and it wierds me out. Lol
great video!

do i need to hit the behemoth in the head to stagger him?
not necessarily, but it will take much longer if you don't hit the head.
Heads get the most stagger damage and after that legs. Other parts don receive any excdpt you have flat stagger through the weighted strikes cell maybe.

Thanks dad

Literally unwatchable.
axe can head
I think the blue bar gets longer after every refill, it's harder and harder to deplete after every stagger, but idk not a hammer dude
IIdk, i think it actually gets easier because the blue bar resets when the behemoth gets staggered, so you can land free stagger damage while it's down

Why would i care about the colour of the numbers thought ? its not like i knowhow much they have left
their bodies get more and more beat up looking as their hp gets low. i can generally tell when they are about to die or when they are at half hp etc.
