@@Freedmoon44 I agree on the virus being the bigger threat than the zombies it creates, regardless of transmission; even a fluid-borne pathogen would be a major problem if a zombie gets into the city water supply or, heaven forbid, *the Mississippi River*. And airborne is even worse. Setting up a quarantine would be a real bitch (though, I would argue it's not outright impossible to achieve). A corpse is only fragile after some degree of decay, so in the short term they are still dangerous to a normal civilian. And zombies don't have to be actual undead. Both of my examples (L4D sprinters and REmake Iron-Romeros) are infected rather than actual corpses. And since they are technically living, as long as they maintain their bodies (a bit of a hard-sell, in the REmake zombies case) they can last for a good while.
@@Freedmoon44 That is generally true, malls would probably be one of the first spots that'd be completely raided, if not held and fortified (even if I think they'd make a terrible base in reality), but in-game there are no signs of survivors trying to barricade or fortify or raid the mall at all, it seems pretty clear it's been completely filled with the dead ever since the fall. The original comment makes a good point, malls these days are not only generally really empty since why bother going to brick-and-mortar when same/next day Amazon exists, but they are also no longer a place that anyone cares about, but this is set in the early 90s when malls weren't just collections of stores, they were literally THE place to be, so it makes sense that there would be a ton of zombies there, plus maybe it actually is like they said in Dawn of the Dead and some kind of tiny vague memory still exists of the places they went most often and they're returning there (although I find that unlikely personally, but still).
