I stopped doing wood working four 4 years do to the fact the I lost my father and almost my mother and my self. Now I have put all that behind me and I just got back on doing woodworking again. I saw many woodworking RUclips channels and I got to say I love your channel. It inspires me a lot thank you. I just subscribed to your channel 3 weeks ago. You got a new follower. I would like to see a coffee table/drink table with bottle holders that can match the planter and chair that you built 3 weeks ago. God bless you.
I hope you can get back to doing what you love soon. I also stopped when someone close to me passed. He was my uncle and like a father to me. He taught me everything. Not many other uncles would let a 10 year old girl run a band saw, but he did! He was a master cabinet maker and left me his shop. Finally getting back to it after cleaning and organizing it. I will say that it does feel good to be in his space using his tools. It makes me feel closer to him.
Welcome back, Glen. The best builder of home projects on the net. Stay well.
Holes… got a chuckle out of that one.
Love this channel, keep up the excellent work!
😆 Thanks!
😂😂😂😂
This was a game-changer for my home decor aspirations! The video not only provided practical guidance on crafting a stylish planter but also sparked my creativity with the idea of incorporating two-tone finishes.
As always, your projects inspire us all. I'd love to see a space saving wardrobe closet from you with your personal touches added. Keep up the good work Glen!
Thanks! Happy to hear that! I think I have an older video of a wardrobe. I'm curious to see what style you're seeking.
@@DIYCreators something along the lines of the coffee table you created with the usb ports and the motorized projector lift. I'd love to see the wardrobe with that DIY Creators touch.
Dude i just love how approachable your style is, and how followable (is that a word?) your narration is. Everything is well thought out.
🤣 thank you!!
Agree!
Yay. Dowelmax. One of the best purchases I have made.
It's expensive - but you absolutely get what you pay for. The inventor, Jim, is a really good guy. It will take projects to the next level and do so quickly.
It's nice! Can be a bit intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it, it's really nice.
Nice - next a drink table with drink holders😊
Yes! 😀
100%. Some sort of end table type of thing.
I’m about to build out a night stand and I LOVE the iron ore color you picked out. I was thinking of something really dark and that charcoal-like color is perfect with that stain.
Hey Glen, it's so good to see that you're back at it!!!
For this series you know that you're going to have to complete the entire outdoor set, right? LOL
Maybe a two toned wood lounge chair? Maybe a patio table? Maybe a matching chair to compliment the first chair and the planter? I mean, sky's the limit really......
A dry-fit tip i saw recently was get some dowels and sand them to smaller than the Dowelmax holes - the dye them a color so they stand out. Use these for dry fits so they come apart easily and the color means you can just store them for dry-fit test runs.
mmm that sounds like an interesting concept.
Female who loves crafts... love this project and your method!! I definitely need that tool!!
I like the idea of a closet organization build, but for continuing the outdoor theme, a removable drink/snack holder might be cool. Thank you for sharing Glen. :)
Cool series. Liked both videos / pieces. Next piece? Maybe a side table... or something unexpected like a dog feeder... 😂
Good to see you back at it! Welcome back!!!
Welcome back my guy!! Great video as always!
Welcome back Glen
Halo bung kerja yang bagus, sukses terus😊
Good work. My choice for next project is a side table.
Great to see you creating again, I remember watching some of you earlier tips and tricks videos and learned a lot...keep it up Glen!
The two tone build made it stunning. Beautiful work.
Coffee Table would be awesome and some wall lights
Looks great! Maybe an end table would be the next one. With lights?
A couple of questions/comment I have are 1) did you coat the inside of the planter with any water sealant such as truck bed liner, etc. 2) Did you drill any drainage holes for excess water? 3) Did you place a drip pan underneath?
Glad you're back Glenn!🎉🎉🎉
solid planter box
Well, I've always wanted to build an all wood electronics workbench. One that I could use a regular race chair with not a stool. The last few days I have been thinking of your videos for inspiration. That is one idea.
Very nice look. Great job, Glen!
Great video as always. You're a great teacher!
Awesome look congrats
A coffee table or end tables would go perfectly with the chair.
friend you are my inspiration. you made me like carpentry
Thank you 😃
Love your videos bro. Nice to see you back.
Thanks!!
Nice work! To go with the pieces you just made, a coffee table with storage. Maybe one that has a top that extensions higher to put a laptop on. OR!! If you are a boardgame nerd like me, a boardgame table. 🤓😁
Thanks! I like your idea, now I am thinking..........
Nearly fell off my chair laughing when I figured out why you were extra clear about drilling "holes". Another great video. Actually about to build a version of your $50 desk to cover an electric piano in my office for video calls.
Glenn, so very happy to have you back!! Just one thing - you have to cut out that pith or it's going to wreck your projects in a short time. Cut it out and glue the pieces together. Once again, super happy to have you back!!
Hey Glen.........greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦. Wow, the planter piece looks and turned out amazing ✌️. Perhaps a coffee table next 🤷♂️😂. Take care.
Very cool the planter turned out great. Great job
No screws needed but every other tool under the sun absolutely needed ;)
Love it
Thank you!
I like the iron ore finish
I enjoy your channel love your planters with the lights
So good to see you back Glen!
I love the planter it's beautiful I love all your projects I'm here for it all whatever you do fantastic job
Thanks so much 😊
It never ceases to amaze me how long a simple project can take. I'm notorious for thinking "nah, that won't take long!" and then getting sucked into making it absolutely perfect and dropping hours into the project.
It's normal. I hardly keep track these days.
A Table or footstool seems like the next logical piece in the series. Very enjoyable and practical. Thanks 🙂
Next, foot stool or side table. Great series. Thanks. Love how you use simple construction lumber. Makes your projects more approachable to newbies.
I think you are one of the first RUclips channels I ever subscribed to; you are such an inspiration.
For your next project you could do a hanging box / lamp array in this same style.
Great Job, nice cooler table can work, with the same layout and a 2 or 3 seat sofa.
Drilled that many hoLes. Haha. Good one. Nice to have ya back Glen.
So glad to see you back Glen!!
GREAT job Glenn. Keeping the project fresh and modern! !! !!!
Beautiful work as always - very inspiring!
No screws is a great idea, even galvanized will rust this way no rust. I use the waterproof wood glue for these types of projects. I love this furniture
Thank you! Depending on the project, some requires hardware. This one is perfect without. The glue I have is interior exterior rated. I should've mentioned that.
I would to see you build a bookshelf around a fireplace please or/and a floating bookshelf above a window..I have alot of books. Looking for creative ways to store them. As always, luv the videos!!
Love your channel and this is a great doable project
Early gang! Huge fan from the Philippines! More power to you always, brother!
🙌
Over the last two summers we have been building garden boxes and furniture for the yard. Two summers ago I built a fence with horizontal boards that are the dame two tone finish that you have used here. The black and light would stain are an awesome look. I showed my wife the chair and she has asked me to build a wider version, wide enough for two adults. Now this planter box is going to added to the list of builds. Thank you for the video, I had an idea on what I wanted and now I have a better idea of how to get it. I also forsee a table of some sorts being added to my wife's honey do list. Any ideas?
It is great to see your videos, I missed them during your hiatus. Fantastic to see you back and even better to see you smiling.
Yours from Winnipeg MB
Glenn
That's awesome to hear. Glad you like the content. The to list never seems to get shortened, I hope I can crank out a table in this series. It's good to be back posting content while it's a lot of work I missed it.
Very nice work, looks great. You should do some side table next
Your ideas are dope
love watching all your video. you give me the confidence to tackle issues around me home.
Thanks! That's what it is all about 😃
Dude I’m digging the black with the stain. That’s an beautiful look.
Hey Glen great to be seeing videos from you again. Just wanted to throw this out there but i think you forgot the LEDs on this one LoL. Looking forward to what you have coming up. Keep on going brother.
I like both the chair and the planter. They accent each other nicely. Great job!! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Good video 👍
Thanks!
This is awesome!
God Bless you.
Thanks!
Good to have you back.
Nice! A two-tone table to go next to the chair would be a great next project.
Thanks! I can see that too
Simple, but elegant. Amazing work as always
Next in the series..a bench and an outdoor cofee table!!
Wonderful- Very nice
Glad to see youre back and looking fresh. Hope you're back on your feet and if you're not, thats okay too. Cant wait to see what content will come next.
Obligatory comment to boost engagement 👍🏻🤜🏻
Drink holder/side table that connects to the chair arm rest might be a nice change to a traditional side table
Glad to see you back, would like to see you build a coffee table that goes with the set you made
Beautiful👏👏!!
Superb these. Lot of love and care.
Thanks for sure!
Not sure how big the porch is but maybe a swinging bench next? Same color scheme, plus the do's & don'ts for finding hard points.
Enjoyed and learned as always... Thanks 🙏
Great video!
Hey Glen, I have challenging addition for you. Seeing the bare wall behind your setup makes me think you could use an art piece there. How about creating an epoxy piece on canvas or paneling, then encapsulate it in a wood frame that has the same colors of your chair and planter.
I'd love to see you create a rocking chair!
looks great! gonna need a small table beside the chair to hold your drinks books or laptop.. :)
nice job as usual. Keep it up.
That iron ore color is awesome.
This seems alot easier than a pocket jig
I love these sturdy and simple-looking designs!
I laughed at the annunciation of "HOLES" 🙂 Great video and great project. One thing I noticed is that you referenced the dowel placements from opposite edges. If the board wasn't of the exact same width, that could be an issue. It's probably being TOO careful, but it might be a bit safer to reference your dowel jig placement from one side of the board, flush, and then maybe with a spacer stick or something for the opposite side. Obviously, it didn't cause a big problem for you, but it might be a good practice in the future. Good Luck!
😅 it could sound like something I didn't intend. I did reference the placement of the dowels. The jig I use is a bit complicated when you first lay eyes on it, but it is very versatile. And when you're joining different boards, I do recommend using test pieces to make sure it lines up the way you expect. It can play a little mind game on you trying to determine placements. The way I had my jig adjusted, it favored one side, not the center. This meant I had to keep track of ordination before drilling. On the fly, I couldn't think of a way to make this simpler. That's why I decided to take my time.
Great video, you've been missed.
PRAISE THE ALGORITHM. I needed this, now.
I have a stack of old lumber and the last box I made has taken a beating but split where I screwed and needs rebuilt.
Sweet! Good luck 😀
LOVE IT! Glad you're back.
Stunning piece, Glen! They look amazing together! 😃
Really well done!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you 😃, I hope all is well!
Awesome build.
Thanks!
Really enjoy your videos. Nice job on the planter. I really like the 2 tone color scheme. I am thinking I want to make something like this. Thank you!
Thanks Mark!
Thanks for the easy build! It took me 2 years to get electricity in my woodshop, buying my big saws now, can't wait to get started. I'm going to be watching your every builds! 🎉👌✨️👑
Thank you and congratulations on your electricity to the woodshop. Sounds exciting.
Love this series! What about a side table for the next project?
Love it!!!!
I love the planter you made. I will try to duplicate. I plan to make four of them for my front yard and side yard. Thanks for your ideas and encouragement.
I kept wondering what you were making (I did not read the description) until the very end. Love the two-tone looks. I'm thinking a two-tone floor lamp with matching modern, industrial look would go great next to the chair for leisure reading.
Great concept!!
Thanks!
Glad you are back at making content. Hope you are doing well, Glen
I'm so glad you're back to making videos, appreciate all the effort you put into them and keeping them simple. You're making me really excited to get back into woodworking. Hope you're doing well my friend.
Thank you and I am happy to hear, woodworking is exciting!! I'm in a good headspace these days.
