This is Dr. Ellie and I would like to thank you for making his video.
My system was developed by trial and error - not assessing studies - in the 1970s and now there have been five decades using power point presentations in pre-natal clinics, libraries, hotel ballrooms, in small groups for oncologists, nurses, at hygienist conferences, and independent pharmacies - for zero financial reward - at a time when I could have been filling and restoring teeth - instead of teaching people how to avoid dental problems. I have tried to run studies on my system - but have had zero interest from Universities, dental insurance companies or any other outlet - which is why there are no studies on my system at this point.
Also, this system is the only way I KNOW to get people out of trouble - the one way that works. I specialized in both pediatric and geriatric dental fields - so I have a wider vision of dentistry than many. Senior dental spending in the United States shows the appalling outcome of following other methods. Thanks again.

Dr. Ellie in the virtual flesh, nice to meet you!
It really is a shame that there hasn't been any eagerness from the dental industry to do studies on your oral health approach. Like I mentioned throughout the video, I do think that you found something that worked well and have been using your unorthodox knowledge to help people solve their oral hygiene woes.
I think the trial and error method with individuals experimenting on their own is where a lot of the great discoveries occur. When people get results, it doesn't matter what the studies say because you have found a solution that solves your problems.
As time goes by and more people try solutions like Xylitol, the dental industry will eventually have to face the music and implement other unorthodox ways of maintaining good oral hygiene that might be superior to their current methods. Cheers :D

@@MasterEverydayLiving I think it important to mention the Human Microbiome Project of 2007.
We discovered for the first time over 700 kinds of bacteria found in a healthy mouth.
There are just a handful of harmful bacteria - a few that create plaque and a specific group of a dozen or so opportunistic ones that are involved in harmful periodontal disease.
My book Mouth Care Comes Clean explains this balance between oral bacteria.
Some oral bacteria are floating in saliva (planktonic) and others woven into biofilm that covers the entire interior surface of our body - including the mouth, teeth, and gums.
Xylitol plays an important part in making this healthy.
Most people are comfortable with healthy gut bacteria - and now it is time for a new understanding in the mouth.
Below is a 2019 study - and more is now understood about the mouth's GOOD bacteria:

I am a senior woman who is currently using Dr. Ellie's system and it works. I see remarkable progress just as she states. All the products are like 60 bucks combined at my local CVS. Not expensive compared to conventional dental costs. When I see new tissue growing around my teeth and the gaps filling up I believe it. Dentists will charge hundreds of dollars for grafts that don't always work. I have learned that several tissues/organs, such as the liver, in the human body can regenerate. The gum tissue is one even though the dental, medical establishment will deny this at every turn.

You say that she doesn’t give information on how to use the system, but she has tons of information in her videos all of which is free. I got everything I needed information wise without having a purchase anything. Second, you say it cost $500 to purchase the system. I’m not sure what components you’re looking at, but I bought toothbrushes and, the mouthwashes toothpaste and such for the very low amount. Just wanted to give that feedback because I’m not sure where you’re coming from and don’t want people to be misinformed.

Listerine mouthwash is $9 for the big size and Act is around $5. $500/yr = $41.67/mo = $1.37/day -or- $0.69/twice daily.
People waste much more money than that everyday on goofy and dumb stuff they don't need; subscriptions, tobacco, alcohol & drug habits, fancy coffee shops, etc.
It sounds more likely that the people whining about the costs of this system, or trying anything new that may be beneficial, don't have their priorities straight and have very poor impulse control.

OMGosh. You’re very sweet, but you need to put more research into this topic before posting a video. First of all, you aren’t required to buy any of Dr Ellie’s educational materials. She explains her whole mouth care system on RUclips & TikTok for FREE. Secondly, you don’t have to buy (from her) any of the products she promotes. Everything is available in local stores and/or Amazon, which she encourages users to take advantage of. So, you don’t need to give her a cut on any of the purchases you make. Furthermore, you don’t even have to buy her Zellie gums or mints. There are other xylitol products available in local stores, including the Canadian product PÜR gum/mints. I'm sorry to say, but your "research" is riddled with misinformation and inaccuracies.

Read the label more closely at 10:09. Dr. Ellie made a video recently where she touched on exactly the point you’re trying to make. Listerine specifically targets the germs THAT CAUSE bad breath, etc. Other mouth washes don’t make that same claim and are more of a free-for-all, killing both bad and good bacteria. And Dr. Ellie recommends only the specific Original and Cool Mint varieties. Other variants have a different formula and are not recommended.
Also, her entire system is listed for FREE on her website and is displayed and discussed prominently in her videos on RUclips and TikTok. She does sell a kit for those who want to purchase the products directly from her, and she has Amazon affiliate links on her website, but she also encourages people to just buy the products on their own from a grocery store.
Finally, there are several components (and yes, three of them are rinses), but the system is carefully crafted in a specific order to get your mouth to the right state in which it’s safe to brush (that’s what the xylitol and Closys do) before switching to the Listerine and Act to fulfill their purposes. For example, Listerine is one of the only proven rinses to take the place of flossing (they used to market this fact).

I can't afford the Complete Mouth Care System but I have learnt a lot watching her videos. I bought her Xylitol gums. When that ran out I bought a one kilo bag of Xylitol crystals. It's so much cheaper. I put a little bit in my mouth after drinking or eating.
After a meal, I use water flosser followed by baking soda in water solution mouth rinse to make my mouth alkaline and kill bad bacteria. After I spit out the baking soda solution, I place Xylitol crystals in my mouth. Set the timer for one hour. Then brush my teeth. After brushing my teeth I place a little bit of Xylitol crystals in my mouth again.

I would only disagree that Ellie’s system doesn’t have a paywall. I have been using her system since January. I got all the details from watching her free RUclips content. I would have to say for the most part my oral hygiene has improved. But I am
Using Invisalign and I am getting lots of staining around the anchor points for the trays that are attached to my teeth. It’s unpleasant to say the least. I don’t feel her system is helping with that. But the front teeth where I normally have staining from coffee are looking much whiter and brighter, which I do appreciate. I did start oil pulling this past week based on some of your content. I am hoping that process helps with the staining issue I am having from the Invisalign anchor points. We will see how it feels after about 1 month.

Ok sorry about the disagreement above, I see you made amendments to your position on this. But also see I should explain more about my experience and need for Ellie’s system. My attempt was also related to gum recession. I had been flossing and using the sonicare toothbrush twice daily. With this system I did achieve a reduction in overall sensitivity in my teeth to cold temperature drinks. I now can enjoy ice in my water. Yay! However the gum recession did creep in. That is where I started Ellie’s system. So now it has been about 4-5 months on her system. I am happy to report the recession feels better. However when I go into orthodontist office for a check in or small procedure related to my Invisalign, I incur damage again to my gums and get a spot where the recession becomes worse and increases my sensitivity to food and brushing again. And like I said in my first comment I am getting the unsightly staining which isn’t being helped my Ellie’s system on my anchor points. So that is the back story to the current time. Overall, I believe if I didn’t have the invisilign, Ellie’s system would be wonderful. And overall it’s slightly less time than oil pulling.

    • @MasterEverydayLiving
      @MasterEverydayLiving  2 месяца назад +1

Really appreciate your experience that you shared, having something like an Invisilign for sure throws a curveball in ones oral health routine. Glad that you are having success with the system and even though it might not fix the staining, the cosmetic part of it is imo more of a secondary oral health win if it managed to do so. The big tough decision would be to cut out coffee and see how that would impact the staining. Now with that said, coffee is delish and sometimes one has to make a sacrifice for the things we love. Cheers!

      @MasterEverydayLiving  Месяц назад +2

Appreciate the detailed breakdown with the costs that you are able to get the products with in the US. I think your numbers still support my estimate, if buying everything in bulk leads to $37USD /month, that is $444 USD per year. Add on sales tax depending on your state and you are pretty close to $500 USD.
Now I live in Canada so the prices I have in the video are Canadian dollars ($37 USD = $50 CDN) so that is $600 year if I got it at the prices you have. But sadly enough imported US goods are more expensive so a 540 bag of Zellies would be around $65 CDN (which is $47USD). That is around a 60% increase in price. All the other oral hygiene products also follow the same approximate increase in price like a 32oz Closys bottle is $23 CDN = $16 USD. Let's not forget the HST tax, which would add 13%.
So adding a conservative 60% increase to your overall cost breakdown, it would be around $59 USD/month to get the same bulk products you listed here in Canada making my video estimate actually undershoot it. $700 USD / $950 CDN per year would be the real price to get those products here in Canada.
But that is sadly not the case for everyone because some people in the comment section don't even have access to the products (like in Australia) and they would have to pay an exorbitant amount for these products.
So I would say it is expensive, of course not the same as getting dental care from a clinic but expensive nonetheless.

In advanced, sorry for the long comment. I'm just curious and love to offer my perspective and rebuttle.
I like how curious you are about this because i was too. I still take a lot of what she says with caution. I still floss and use my tongue scraper and have still seen pretty positive results on her routine. All her stuff is free on videos BTW. You don't need the books or the website stuff. Buy all the products at your local walmart, target, etc which is the only reason I even gave this a shot.
I believe she uses a lot simple terminology to help people understand the basics but I do wish she would talk about which bacteria in particular are being eliminated. Probably ones that cause cavities haha.
I wish she would push less for selling her products but since she isn't doing regular dentistry, I suppose she has to get money through her mints which is cool but I don't understand the purpose of her course or why sell books that tell you the same things she gives for free.
She also says she "believes," because you're right, there aren't any studies on her method, which sucks, but I suppose people who try it are the only ones who can say.
If the dentistry world weren't such a huge corporate monster, I'd agree that this is overkill and it sort of is, but it is also prevention and healing. There is too much sugar in regular foods now a days that it's hard to not have cavities by such a young age. I've also noticed people think they're a lot more healthy than they really are. People can have underlying issues that are never addressed by dentists until you have to shell out money which is sad. She has also mentioned that women struggle more with oral care due to hormones so I think women would benefit from a routine like this.
Besides the system she sells on her page, she says you can buy them anywhere and most are fairly cheap. Buying the in store would have no benefit to her. You can also by xylitol mints anywhere as long as they don't have sugar. Maybe not many people would do this and keep buying her kit but I just went to the store haha. Regardless, some rich person is getting my money from these products.
I agree that you may not need the whole thing but it might be tough to see why it is failing and blame it on her. If anything, people should do the xylitol and clo-sys because the part of getting your mouth to the right PH before brushing makes sense. Her toothpaste rec is so cheap that I don't mind doing that either. I was on the fence about her mouthwashes because listerine is awful.
Anyway, great video. Hopefully she gets funding for her stuff and we can maybe see if her methods are real or just hopeful based off the patients she's had in the past. Although, I will say that in the UK, they don't push flossing as much as here in the US and they have pretty good oral care, albeit not as pretty as everyone in the US. They focus a lot on being healthy vs aesthetics.

No worries about the long write-up, love seeing other people's perspective on it.
One thing that a new user would have a hard time navigating is all the content that Dr. Ellie has. So even though all her content is free, as a person who knows about her YT channel, blog and website and have looked through it all, they are very fragmented with knowledge sprinkled around that you need to hunt down to begin her routine. The two place that I am aware of where her full routine with cohesive steps can be found is in her books/her kit.
I agree to most of what you are saying and there really is a lack of studies looking into things like this. It's a shame because I feel like so many people (including you and me) have experienced the benefits but can't really put the exact science down to back it up. I personally think it's not that important to know how things work (like how many of us drive cars but don't know how the engine works) but it would be a vital step towards mass adoption if that ever was on the Dr. Ellie's system blueprint horizon!
      Cheers :D

I am writing from Australia and most of the products recommended by Ellie cost quite a bit. Eg 3 bottles of closys costs me about A$100 and last about 3 to 4 months. Crest and ACT must be ordered and shipped from the USA. I had written and asked Dr Ellie on one of Dr Ellie's video whether Closys could be replaced with ozonated water since closys allowed you to brush straight away after eating and kills the bad and good bacteria in the mouth. Ozonated water enable you to kill the bacteria and to save cost, I am willing to brush my teeth more than 30 minutes after eating...using ozonated water from biosure ozonated tumbler which is more sustainable. There was no response and even my reply to one fellow australian on where I source the products were deleted..not once but all the time ! I began to have my suspicions that someone is not happy for me to be giving some ideas.

Thanks for this breakdown. I had pretty poor gum health and significant bone loss from poor dental hygiene, 100% my fault, many nights I'd be so burned out and exhausted I'd just end up falling asleep without brushing. I know. Gross. I would do a great job in the morning cleaning up though, but time plus acidic saliva overnight did its damage. I've stopped the bad habits as of a couple months ago. I started by using her system as recommended, but started noticing tooth staining. For over a decade prior, I was using Auromere fresh mint toothpaste, with no issues with staining. I traced the new staining down to use of fluoride. With that said, aside from the staining, using Closys, listerine, and xylitol, my gums and oral health made the craziest rapid improvement. Inflamed gums to pink healthy gums in literally like 2 weeks. I've tweaked her protocol to eliminate the fluoride due to staining, and thankfully, I've gotten rid of the stains, caught it early enough. For me, I've got it dialed in now. My routine: brush tongue first with a tiny dab of toothpaste, and rinse with water. Then do the Closys, then brush gums followed by teeth. I use 50/50 Auromere fresh mint and Tom's kid's fluoride free strawberry toothpaste. Reason for Auromere is the herbs, reason for Tom's is the SLS (basically soap). The Crest she recommends is SLS-based, and I noticed it did do a little better job cleaning than the Auromere toothpaste alone, that I had previously used. I do floss but I don't floss into my gums anymore. Follow with Listerine original mouthwash, followed by a xylitol glycerine containing mouthwash after. In the morning I use Spry xylitol peppermint, at night, I use Auromere mouthwash. 2x a day Listerine dries out the mouth a bit I feel, so the Auromere mouthwash, which is glycerine and no alcohol, I like to think of as lotion for my mouth. Spry has glycerine too, and a low amount of alcohol. Anyway, this tweaked version of her system is the best thing I've ever done for my mouth. My oral hygiene is on a whole other planet now. Hope this helps someone out there.

Hi! In a recent video of hers, someone commented about how toxic flouride is. They asked her why she promotes a toothpaste with flouride. She turned the comments off. What is your take on flouride? I cannot see a dentist as I am housebound, and I had an experimental operation that has left me only able to open my mouth 4 centimetres. So no hygienist can work on me. What toothpaste would you recommend? Thank you in advance for your time. ❤

    • @MasterEverydayLiving
      @MasterEverydayLiving  2 месяца назад +3

Sounds like a tough situation that you are in with being housebound and that operation, hope things take a turn for the better.
As for my take on fluoride, I haven't had a bad experience with it. Always got it after a cleaning session in the past. I believe the Canadian tap water that I drink also contains fluoride so I personally think that in small doses, its probably fine. It's not something I would incorporate into my routine through a fluoride product but being exposed to it occasionally or in extremely low doses probably isn't as harmful as some people say it is.
As for toothpaste recommendations, I don't really have any as I usually get what's on sale... Now with that said, I am doing an experiment where I am not brushing my teeth (so no toothpaste either) and its currently been a week and my teeth feel great. The reason I am mentioning this is because I believe that it's just not one product that fixes everything but more of a lifestyle tweak that can create lasting change. So doing things like rinsing your mouth after each meal of fizzy drink throughout the day. Staying hydrated to prevent dry mouth. Eating as healthy as possible to limit the amount of bacteria in your mouth. Using products like Xylitol after meals to prevent bacteria from sticking to your teeth. Oil pulling in the morning as a baseline to reset my mouth.
It's a bit more of a radical and obscure approach to oral hygiene but I think that is often times needed when the normal methods of care don't work. I have personally found success with both Xylitol and Oil Pulling but know that it might not be for everyone.
Good luck with your oral health journey, hopefully you can figure out a routine that works for your mouth!

It's been that way since I was a child, and I'm 57. I think if you really believe flouride is good, then she should say so. Also the overuse of mouth washes is concerning, seeing as they have alcohol which is very drying on the mouth. I am no expert, but the lack of openess is concerning. ❤️

@@jacquelineteale4937 I'm positive that a lot of these "influencers" are sponsored. You're supposed to disclose this, but many don't. It's deceptive. When they push particular products instead of certain kinds of products, I get suspicious. Especially when they sell expensive kits. I always get the generic brands whenever the ingredients are the same or comparable enough. I don't care about brand names; I care about results.
I also agree with what Paul said about her "my way or the highway" attitude, for all the reasons he listed. Different people have different problems for different reasons, so there is no blanket cure.
I do love my cool mint Listerine, but I use it before brushing in the morning. Some people think I'm weird for doing it this way, but while I like the germ killing factor, I don't like the strong taste or dryness to linger. I also have an extremely sensitive gag reflex, so using the antiseptic before brushing gets rid of morning breath, and then when I brush my tongue I don't gag so much. There's a method to my madness!
But I absolutely agree about the use of so much mouthwash being concerning. It's overkill, and I can see how it could cause a problem. The rebound effect could cause an overproduction of bacteria; just like taking antibiotics can kill too much yeast in the body, which often leads to yeast infections.
I just don't implicitly trust her. Something about her rubs me the wrong way. I prefer people like Paul, who are nuanced and are willing to discuss differences of opinion. I feel he's being honest with us and with himself. I don't get that vibe from her.

Hi Paul, let me start by saying that I like your style as I have said before.
This video in particular concerns me in a VERY personal way since I’m one of the hundreds of people who have had great improvement in their oral health just by following Dr. Ellie’s recommendations.
I didn’t have to enroll in her boot camp, order any of her kits from Amazon or buy any of her books.
She includes a FREE copy of her booklet when you subscribe to her FREE newsletter and you can get ALlL the products she recommends from your local pharmacy ( except the xylitol) which Doesn’t have to be her mints, as you tried a different kind for your video on xylitol use.
Yes, she is VERY adamant about using those products in the way she recommends because they work as a system.
Maybe it’s a generational issue where the younger ones need to see lots of data supporting the claims and on the other hand the older people rely more on the results they get by trying the approach suggested. That’s what matters to me, knowing that my teeth and gums are getting better each day.
As per the money that one has to spend buying the products ( from my local pharmacy) I see that as an investment, NOT an expense.

Appreciate the comment and I totally stand corrected, in the email I got it does have a link at the top that redirects you to a free guide so my bad on that. I'll pin a post with that!
I did try the Zellies mints and gum in another video (quick summary, it's a better tasting and longer lasting gum than Pur but the Xylitol effects were the same for me for a much lower cost) before this video and think that your approach is more aligned with what I am trying to advocate for, of people needing to experiment on their own and find what works for them.
Glad that you have had really good results lts with her system. If I may ask, how long have you been following it for, how was your oral health before you began and have you modified the routine since you began?
Yet again, appreciate the comment! I can only get so far looking into it from a non-user that is happy with their own oral health and think a lot of people will benefit from hearing perspectives from people who have tried Dr. Ellie's system!

Hello again Paul. First of all let me tell you that I like you even more now because you had the honesty to correct your statement in a humble manner and that says a lot about you.
To answer your question I will start by saying that it’s been 6 weeks since I started following Dr. Ellie’s protocol and I saw a significant improvement by the second week.
My teeth looked whiter and felt harder/ stronger.
I was brushing my teeth 3x/day and flossing before bed religiously for years, and every time I went to the dentist they said that my gums keep receding and I would have to have cleanings every 4 months instead of twice a year. NO other solutions were offered to me.
Well, long story short I came across a video from Dr. Ellie and here I am 6 weeks after, starting to see improvement in my gums appearance( pinkier color) and less sensitivity. I’m 61 years young 😊therefore my teeth have gone through a lot of damage due to misinformation and myths but I have managed to keep my original teeth which I’m very grateful for.
Give yourself some time to understand the logic behind her claims and you will see why hundreds of people have been helped by it.
You are too young to experience firsthand what older ones have with their teeth, but I’m hoping that you know someone who can benefit from this protocol.
Thank you once again and keep up the good work.

    • @MasterEverydayLiving
      @MasterEverydayLiving  2 месяца назад +6

One would think that it would be normal to concede and correct one's self when we find something wrong in our approach but the internet has taught me that not everyone thinks this way...
Awesome that you have had such great results from her system after 6 weeks. When you find something that works, keep doing it!! Would love to hear another quick comment update in a month or so if that is not too much to ask 😅
In my opinion like I mentioned in the video, I still believe that her system works. It especially works for people with dire oral hygiene needs. I just might not be one of those people. Throughout my experiments, even using Xylitol products 5 times a day would be too much for my mouth as I found my tongue to get sensitive just from 2-3 times per day or if I chewed the gum for too long. Those 2-3 chewing sessions per day were enough for me to see and feel positive oral health results. I tried the a Listerine mouthwash in the past and it was too abrasive for my mouth.
With all that said, I really think that comments like yours are more efficient in convincing people to try and take care of their teeth because it is such a frustrating thing to be following everything that experts recommend without any improvements to ones oral health. I was in a similar position following the norms recommended by dentists and having bad oral health up until my 30's. I then went deep into trying to figure out why it was so bad for myself and that journey has made me realize that many of us are really lost when it comes to maintaining our oral hygiene. Having open and honest conversations like this is a great way to shed a bit more light on the topic.
      Cheers!

Hi Paul! I really appreciate the time and effort to give an unbiased, personal, end user opinion. I've been watching Dr. Ellie's system and also your posts on oil pulling and xylitol for several months and decided to try Dr. Ellie's protocol. After 2 months my teeth felt and looked great! HOWEVER, I started to get multiple canker sores. I have had them on and off all my life and I have found that, yes there are times that stress can bring them on but generally, I can usually pinpoint it to certain foods or oral supplements that have additives. It could possibly be in connection with stomach acids and or allergies. I am always looking for alternatives to sugar because of weight and diabetes. I found that I actually like Stevia more than sugar. But not all Stevia is pure. Most of the commercial brands have Erythritol. By process of elimination I found out that pure stevia works fine but I break out with any Erythritol. Well same thing happened with the Xylitol. I even wrote Dr. Ellie asking for an alternative. I received a reply that I am most probably not doing the protocol correctly. I was asked for a photo of my routine products and never got another reply. I also found out that studies have shown both Xylitol and Erythritol are good for oral health with Erythritol coming out ahead of Xylitol even. The bad news is that they have been known to trigger canker sores in people who have that inherited trait. Oh well. 😢. I am also predisposed to gum disease by heredity on both sides of my family. Im 62 and have pockets often now and had to get a bone graft. Diabetes and weight issues as well.
I also have an issue with the listerine not making any sense. Yes I do grind my teeth and actually broke one and yes i was told I brush too hard and used to stop using the sonicare toothbrush a while ago. So while there is definitely something positive to the usage of Xylitol for most people, I cant use Erythritol and/or Xylitol, or several other sugar alcohols ( both are sugar alcohols) because of other adverse reactions😔

I appreciate you sharing your experience and it's too bad that you are getting canker sores from it.
Something that I have been doing that has lessened the intensity of the Erythritol where I still think I get the benefits from it is to add it to my oil pulling session. That gives me none of the bad side-effects that I had trying Erythritol on its own. Perhaps this could be something you try with Xylitol. Add some Xylitol to coconut/sesame seed oil, then swish it around for a few minutes following by spitting it out into the green/organics bin (since excess oil might clog up water pipes).
Keep exploring and finding what works for you. There really is no silver bullet to one's individual oral hygiene issues. Good luck!

And she is a Doctor who runs a company that manf's a product that she claims does all sorts of things that most NIH/Science cites seems to say aren't really possible.
One can source all the products the Dr. sells from other sellers on AMZ and other places for a lot, lot cheaper and of equal quality.
The real crime is that a lot, LOT, of people do not need to buy into a $500-600/year annual maint. membership to significantly improve their dental health.
Sensible brushing, regular flossing/water pik, xylitol and ACT mouthwash would most likely radically improve MOST people's oral health.
There are also most likely a smaller percentage of those truely in bad straights who could follow her Process and see great results as well.
However, from watching multiple of her videos, she really seems to want to get everyone on her system, not just those with a serious deficit.
BTW, 5KG Xylitol is $129 from Bulk Supplements, which @0.5g/mint would be 10,000 mints, ~$0.01/mint.
I'm familiar with industrial production, and raw supplies are usually shipped in 55 gallon HDPE blue barrels. At bulk rates her cost/mint is probably $0.001 or less, + some labor and automated presses.

Very poor review with little understanding of her method. Either the biochemistry of the mouth and analysis is correct or not. Why do you think most dentists recommend ACT, closys and flouride toothpaste? Her system is more thorough and based on many years of experience. She has no incentive to make money. My wife and I have been on the system for over 6 months and the results are amazing. It does not cost $500.00!!! Spend $20 at walmart and you have enough for 3 or more months. What do you think a cleaning costs? $150.00; special mouth washes and toothpaste? Anyone reading this who doubts can spend an hour watching Dr. Ellie on youTube. She is an amazing dentist who cares for her patients! I live in Chapel Hill NC, home of one of the top dental schools in the world. Master of Everyday Living is a joke.

    • @MasterEverydayLiving
      @MasterEverydayLiving  27 дней назад

I just have to poke some holes in this comment because it just makes me chuckle on so many levels...
      - Most dentists recommend ACT, Closys and Flouride toothpaste? They might be recommended by the ADA but they aren't recommended by every dentist. These are things that Dr. Ellie found that worked well with her patients and there is a reason why her system with Xylitol and a rigid set of products is having success over what most dentists recommend.
      - She has no incentive to make money? When a core part of your system is Xylitol gum and mints and you make and promote a product (Zellie's) for those purposes, you are now a business and have an incentive to grow and promote that business. Making money is OKAY, there is nothing wrong with that but saying that there are no incentives is just ignorant.
      - I would love to see how you are following her system for $20 for 3 months when the Xylitol gums on their own exceed that price for 3 months. Feel free to do a cost breakdown and prove me wrong. I also want to mention that not everyone lives in the US so getting hands on these products are even harder/more expensive in other countries.
A detailed breakdown was done in another comment with US pricing.
32 oz bottle of closys ultra sensitive rinse (should last 1 month)11.38
Crest original five 8 0z tubes (should last at least 6 months) 14.99 (2.50 per month)
50 oz Cool mint listerine (should last 2 months) 7.99 (3.99 month)
Act mint zero alcohol fluoride rinse pack of four, (should last 2 months) 21.99 (10.99 per month)
large bag of zellie xylitol mints 540 mints (should last 3.5 months) 28.50 (8.14 per month)
= ~$37USD /month (or $444 USD / year) if you buy everything at these prices.
I live in Canada so the same products will cost me $950 CDN / $700 USD / year.
      - Comparing it to expensive cleaning costs does not change the fact that it is around $500 / year / person to follow her specific system.
      - Great, you live close to some top dental schools, what does that add to the conversation? I live in Toronto close to a really great pizza place, does that make my thought on pizza any more valuable? Also, Dr Ellie and her system is going AGAINST the grain of traditional dentistry recommendations so your random location flex is moot.
      - One can care for ones patients, be a good dentist and also have all the pointers above be true. No need to virtue signal.
At the end of the day, you can attack me with petty words and be ignorant to reality but any rational person can look up things for themselves (which I hope people will do).

One thing that really does concern me about her system is her preaching against flossing. Many who have bad oral health did not floss and regular flossing might help mitigate if not fix some of the problems. The reasons she gives for not flossing are not of a higher benefit than the risk of avoiding flossing. As a dentist she should know better on that one. Since many of the people trying her system are in desperate need, and therefore vulnerable, it is all the more dangerous since they are more likely to take that anti-flossing approach seriously.
The second concern I have is that the ACT fluoride mouthwash she recommends says on the bottle to do once daily. She recommends twice daily. Those instructions on the bottle are sometimes for safety reasons, and so she should be clarifying why she is recommending more than the company itself and why it is not a danger to do so. Because if something happens, the mouthwash company can simply say that the person did not follow the instructions - the cause of most over-the-counter medication problems.

USian, more cavities than average as I was a stubborn little guy...
I've got moderate gum erosion and min/mod gingavitis with most pockets around 2, with several 3-4s on all quads.
Once I started flossing regularly a year or two ago, it was clear from the charting/recording they do measuring gum pocket depth that all of them were starting to lessen and were mostly cluster around 2 with only a couple 3's.
Thats actual proof that the flossing was helping reduce my gingavitis, and oral health was significantly improving.
I was using a water pik also, which seemed to work as well as flossing just easier. If I'd known about Xylitol at the time I'd have added it, but I was already adding a bit of listerine or chlorhexidine.
The Dr. is making bank off her own products, and getting some sort of commission from the other products she is endorsing.
Not a problem per se, however her paywalling sure does bely any expression of 'wanting to help people'.
Seems like just another marketing scheme using an actual Dr. as spokeswoman vs some As Seen On TV spokesman of old.

Dr Ellie has a lengthy video on RUclips about how to use her mouth care system. Additionally, one can download and print a paper telling what to use and when and how off the Google internet. So, his facts aren't completely not factual. Also, if you want to purchase her brand xylitol mints/ gums, it's available on Amazon. My mouth/teeth and gums are in very good condition and teeth always feel clean and smooth since using her complete mouth care system since February 2024. Also, toothpaste she recommends can be purchased at Walmart or drug store or supermarket. The toothbrushes she recommends can be purchased at some stores but for sure on Amazon. Don't see how she profits off the items if I'm buying them the way I mentioned with exception of the gum or mints. Sir, your conclusions are incomplete. I have been using her system (all free information) for about a year….and she hasn’t received one penny of profit from my product purchases. As far as I can tell she gives full disclosure for free. So regarding your conclusions, I have to ask: “COMPARED TO WHAT”?
The dental profession wouldn’t be what it is if there were not enough people with oral health problems….the percentage of population doesn’t matter. Only people with problems are looking for answers….and obviously there are plenty….even enough to make it worthwhile for RUclips channel review videos. What does that tell you about the effectiveness of the information the industry provides for free?
ALL kids getting cavities (I was one) and their parents need this information. The free information offered by the industry guidelines is not working for many and clearly has not worked for decades. They have taught us this same information since (1950s?) grammar school and continue to do so. It is not from sugar.
The bottom line of her message is that THESE PROBLEMS ARE MOSTLY THE RESULTS OF INADEQUATE ABATEMENT OF BACTERIAL INFECTION. The industry refuses to offer information to the public that effectively addresses this. Do you think the industry does not know this is the real issue?
When did any other dentist enlighten you to a potential system that could possibly eliminate or drastically reduce the need to see oral health specialists? This is a system that worked for her and her mother. It’s working for hundred or thousands of others. She’s more than qualified to share the results, method and products. She’s been doing so for decades and challenging the status quo. Don’t you question why there’s no embrace from the industry or at least an interest in testing it? Hopefully that day will come, but some of us need to take action now to at least try it.
I have not seen miracles from following her system. But the sensitivity and gum bleeding has improved immensely. I wish I found her information ten years ago. I wish this was taught when I was in grammar school along with the brushing and flossing. I brushed and flossed religiously, but problems still manifested as I got older. The worst problems were from the teeth with fillings.
