- My first EVER Lovebites gig at The Garage, London! Following the journey to Highbury & Islington, I met up with Mystery Girl and grabbed some food just in time for the 8pm start! Included are some in-venue clips, reaction and my overall thoughts on the performance.

For the first time, you saw the best heavy metal band in the world. With the "little big engine" on drums, and you saw that they really are.
Haruna was INSANE!!! I thought the venue was gonna crumble under the power of her drumming! 😆
No need to apologize for the device, phones just have a hard time taking in that much power. It looks like it was absolutely banging. Lucky man to see Lovebites live. 🤘

I was at the front for this gig, and they really are amazing. You're right, you really do get a whole new appreciation for Haruna when you see the band live. She really is incredible. Also, I got one of the drumsticks she threw into the crowd! Let me tell you, it has some real wear and tear! But what a band they are. Five superstars in one band, playing a brilliant gig every time. Glad you got to see them!

@melvinthinks we were a couple of people back from the front, she got a Midori pick aswell but she seems to come away from every gig she goes to with a pick or a stick . 🙂
It's like Dad's that take their kids to football games, because they know they have a better chance of getting a players shirt. But then the Dad blatantly steals it from their child, frames it, and puts it in their man cave 😆 I know your game, Si. Give your daughter the plectrum back 😉

My pleasure! It's all thanks to the Wolfpack that I discovered this AMAZING band, so making vlog is the least I could do 😊
I saw them in Lindau and the concert was just great. The young ladies make you feel like they're playing just for you, especially when you're standing quite far in front. You think they're looking straight into your eyes, especially Asami and Midori. Asami would give high fives or stand close to Fami or Miyako so that an audience member could take a picture, all during a song. Haruna unfortunately disappears behind her drums and cymbals. Every now and then you had to look to see if she hadn't been replaced by a robot ;)
Yeah - it feels like they have real connection with everyone in the audience. I'm amazed they aren't bigger in the UK tbh. One of the best live bands I've seen in a long time.

Glad you had a great time. No opening band? Those are good because they usually play longer. Only seen 1 concert like that, Metallica on the Black album tour, 1992, 3 1/2 hours.
That's 2 you got on me now, first The Warning and now LOVEBITES, lol
Cheers Chris 😀 I forgot to mention this in the video, but despite them not having a support act they still "only" played for about 90 minutes. Personally, I don't mind that as they leave you wanting more. And everyone can easily get home without worrying they are going to miss the last train or tube!
Great journey, great experienced, priceless living in that moment ..memorable. They come to blast, so all gadget got sound blast off hahaha. Thanks bro 👍🤘👏🔥

I was there, too. And in Lindau and Milan before. They had a support band in those 2, which was LohArano.
Anyway, 3 absolutely amazing concerts and I managed to catch a Midori pick at the Garage 🙂
Man, Haruna on "Soldier Stands Solitarily" is from another planet! 😯
I saw them in Paris in June. Fantastic show. So much energy!!!

I saw them in Lindau/Germany and I almost broke my neck from headbanging. I hope they come back soon and I will definitely go again. I love this band, especially Haruna the "little big engine".

I was there on the right of the auditorium near the stage where I had a good view of Haruna. She totally amazed me with the speed and power of her playing, it seems impossible that such a petite lady can produce the sound she does from those drums. Awesome gig. I was at the New Cross Inn as well, but if you could only get to one, The Garage is the one. I think I saw you on the way out after the gig, but didn't want to make a fool of myself so I refrained from speaking lol.
Ahhh - dude! You should have said hello. Unless it wasn't me, of course, and it was just some other small hairy dude with a receding hairline 😆 What was the New Cross Inn gig like? The sound is usually really great in that place.
Great to see Harupi placed at the top .. she really is something special 💪💪👌
She doesn't always get a lot of attention because of the calibre of all x5 of them, but wanted to highlight how great she was and is.

Hell yeah brother🤘 I'll never forget my first Lovebites concert too!😆🤘
I had tickets for two concerts and didn't make it (first one because of my s#itty ex-boss, second one I gave my ticket to a friend (my own fault... work related as well). Third time is the charm and I've made it to the venue safe and sound. And it was cathartic not only for me, but everybody who came to see them.
From my position I could only see Miyako and Haruna, but I'm not complaining. I think I'd have had a heart attack if I could see them all😂. Wonderful night. I'm seeing them again this September 🤘🐺🤘
I don't really think you can go to a Lovebites gig and not come away smiling. It's impossible! And only a couple more months for your next one, and am sure it will be a blast!

Looks like we've been going to the same gigs lately, first VoB, now lovebites. I went to both their London shows and even though this one was objectively better in every measurable way, I enjoyed the chaos and the closeness of the New Cross Inn even more. 🤘🐺🤘

Hi Melvin. We also missed the New Cross show. We were standing right in front of you immediately behind the mixing desk. In the absence of Band-Maid I've decided to get to see other Japanese bands that come to London. Love bites were my second recently and are my second favourite band from Japan- no screamers, growlers or shouter on vocals. It was a great show- lovely twin lead guitars, really tight band. Great vlog, thanks.
So you're not a fan of Nemophila then? 😬 I'd really like to see Band-Maid if and when they next hit the UK, so please shout if you hear any news before I do. You're right - it was a great show. I was so impressed with them. There is so much great Japanese music out there and I haven't even touched the surface on this channel. It has a great metal and rock scene.

You were behind me? You must have been working in the bar then 😁 I agree with you. As much as I'd like them to be big enough to sell out the O2, I will always prefer smaller, sweatier, and stickier venues. You can't beat it.

I was leaning on the bar at the start. And then the bar staff started asking people to move forward and away from the bar. I don't like being "that guy" who is standing in front you, holding a camera up! That's why I try and stand at the back if I'm recording a few minutes here and there for these vlogs. Even though I'm small, it's still super annoying for anyone behind me. I'm there to see the gig. Not record the entire set for a live DVD! lol But I'll take you up on that beer 🍻
Okay, I’ve actually got gig envy!!! I missed getting a ticket for New Cross and had a prior commitment for this one. It looked superb, glad you enjoyed it, hope they don’t leave it too long to come back here.
Fingers crossed they come back again soon for you 🤞 I think they could play a larger venue, but at the same time, I'd rather watch them in a 250 > 500 capacity venue like the New Cross Inn or The Garage. It's more intimate.

Always a conundrum, enough tickets that you don’t need to get on the ticket site in the first ten minutes but not too many that you lose the intimate feel. VOB was just about right and I’ve got a ticket for The Warning in Dublin which is around 650 capacity. Possibly the last time they’ll be playing such a small venue.
Sorry but I can't tell from your @ username. Is this Paul I bumped into before the VOB gig?
@@melvinthinks yes it is, it was a really good show, Tash were good too, though I realised I was too close to the speaker stack and also in the way of some much shorter people so I went further back, much better sound in such a small venue.

Cool meeting you too! As I said, you are officially the first viewer I've met in person 😁 It's nice of you to notice my passion for music. I try not to bullshit my audience, and when I truly dig a band I'm going to support, share and promote them. I've just been lucky in the last few weeks that I've seen both VOB & Lovebites live, both of whom I discovered because of this channel. It's super cool.

@@melvinthinks It's good to know that women went to the show. Lovebites needs to connect more with the younger generation not just us old connoisseurs of metal
I agree. But I think the nature of their music, which is thrash/power metal/NWOBHM, naturally has a much older, male orientated fanbase. But hopefully bands like Lovebites can encourage girls/woman to pick up instruments and show the men how its done 🤘
they should ban cellphones from music events i think because bad audio should never be heard sorry but its the truth
I agree. But I wasn't there to film the gig to make a Lovebites Live DVD. I was trying to capture a first time experience.
