I believe what Ruban was going for with the captain and the Russian quote battle was that the conversation was intentionally supposed to feel the opposite of an intellectual convo. They're saying jack shit about their opinions, shouting famous quotes to disguise how little they truly practice/understand what they preach.
Yes, they're shown to be superficial in their beliefs. Harrelson even resorts to using his phone to look for quotes on the net. Not very original concept but the scene did have a point.
This channel is greatly underrated. Your analysis, editing, and humor are fantastic, and your video catalog is binge-worthy. You dive right into the topic without wasting time on unnecessary intros and outros. I've grown tired of hearing, "Welcome back to my channel, my name is blah, blah, blah..." I feel it's become antiquated. I also appreciate that you don't show your face, as it's unnecessary. I wish more RUclipsrs would invest the time to procure or craft imagery that effectively aids their audience in conceptualizing their topics. To be a bit indelicate, not everyone has a face for the screen. Creators who either recognize this and/or value their anonymity should be commended for their restraint. Good luck to you, sir, and I hope the algorithm brings you good fortune.
Curious as to whether there will be much thematic overlap between Triangle of Sadness and upcoming movie The Palace (dir. Polanski). Fingers crossed for Tar to win this category.
Interesting idea, The Palace is one of my most anticipated movies of the year, as Polanski’s films always are. If it’s similar to Triangle of Sadness, I’m sure he’ll show how it’s done.
I just discovered your channel, it's awesome, keep it that way. By the way, at 14:25 : Your differential equation is wrong, the reasoning is good, but in the 5th line, you should integrate 1, note e^x. So the final answer would be f(x) = xe^x + Ke^x.
I take issue with you criticizing the non-conventional structure of "Triangle of Sadness". Not every script has to follow an A-B-C structure. Although I would also vote for "Tar" for Screenplay.
I wish you were correct about Tar, but this movie is clueless about classical music, in hilarious ways. It is not a bad film, but it’s just not accurate even remotely. It’s good drama, though, so take that for what you will.
@@HugoSoup57 Yes. exactly. My comment was a critique of the claim that it as accurate. Hence "It's a good drama, though" and other parts of the comment above. I just dislike the claim made in the video that it is accurate.
EEEK! The Office...either watch the original British one or none. Steve Carell, like so many others before him (Chris Farley and most of that Saturday Night Live bunch) are atrociously unfunny.
Yikes, this is a horrible take. The American version of the Office is great bro. You must lack a sense of humor to not find Steve Carrell and the Office co-stars “atrociously unfunny”
I love how you never make a superficial analysis and always go in depth with examples
There should be more channels like this
Thank you! That’s my intention!

Great video! Actually made me want to rewatch Tár
Then it’s mission accomplished! Few films gain so much from rewatching
That first 17 minutes is tough tho.
Maybe easier on rewatch
This is way funnier than it has the right to be! 🤣🤣🤣
I’m glad someone besides me recognizes the greatness of Tar. It’s hard to articulate what I love about it, but I think you’ve nailed it.

This is the same order I would rank these screenplays.

Banshees of Inisherin robbed
ABSOLUTELY.

It wasn’t trying to be accurate, Tar was a great film with great acting and great character driven story regardless of how “accurate” it is.

I love when people talk like they don't understand the difference between subjectivity and objectivity.
The Office is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen, though the humor makes me cringe. It good.
