Many people don’t know this, but Bob Evan’s, Dave Thomas, and Col. Sanders were all very good friends. They traveled and went on several fishing trips together.
Forty-five years ago, I was a waitress at a nearby Bob Evans restaurant. Which is still there. It sits right off an exit from I-75, here in Michigan. So many customers were travelers, all were always nice people to wait on. I enjoyed the two years I worked there. I'm glad that the restaurant is still there and open.
I live in Canada but have heard of Bob Evans. Ive seen his TV commercials, and we can buy his products in the grocery store. I believe I have even dined at one of his restaurants during a trip to the USA. I noticed his wife was darn near 100 when she passed. What a full life! What a beautiful spot to be laid to rest. Go rest high on that mountain!
One of my high school classmates was head of corporate public relations for this company for several yeas. She said that Bon was not only a great employer, but also a wonderful friend
I got to meet him when I was a kid at the farm festival in Rio grande. You would have thought I met a movie star. The Bob Evans Farm Festival was always a fun time!
Bob Evans was our go to spot on Sundays. It was where my daughter and I would meet my late mom. It was our meeting halfway place. Thank you my friend 😊 🕊️❤️🙏
There is a Bob Evans restaurant near Duke Hospital. When my dad was undergoing cancer treatments, he always wanted to stop and have lunch after the treatment, on the way home.
I'm Canadian but I went to university in Texas and therefore drove through a lot of states going back and forth. I ate in Mr. Evans' restaurants several times and, as I recall (modesty prevents me from admitting exactly how long ago that was) it was always a pleasant experience. I'd say a life well lived and a lovely grave for him and his wife. RIP Mr & Mrs Evans.
We have a Bob Evans in a nearby town here in southwest Va. Very good place to eat! I love his mashed potatoes that you can get in the refrigerated section of the store. They are great and so convenient when you are in a time crush. I would pass his farm going from southwest Virginia to visit with my aunt and uncle in Dayton. I believe it is right off 35 E between Charleston and Chillicothe. My cousins have been there, but I haven't stopped in. When you grow up and live on a farm, you don't want to go see one when you are on vacation...lol. Would be a great place for folks to go that have not had my experience.
Never been to one of his restaurants but I've bought his mashed potatoes in the grocery store. Actually have some in the fridge right now. His mashed potatoes are the best!
I have never been to a Bob Evans restaurant but have seen his products in the grocery stores. I remember the phrase from a TV commercial - "Bob Evans down on the farm" Thx for sharing the video as always 😊
There is a Bob Evans restaurant in the county next to me in Palm Coast Fla. I buy the mashed potatoes from our Walmart . Seen the Mac and cheese , but not the sausage here. Beautiful view from their graves for sure . When my Mother😇 passed everyone met at Bob Evans restaurant after her graveside service ❤ Thanks Chris
Hi... Bob Evans restaurants heard of him ..but being from Canada never ate in one....he sounds like a great man ...RIP to him.... beautiful monument...and cemetery...thanks for vlogging this story......take care..... Deborah 🇨🇦
We have Bob Evans restaurants and grocery products here in Michigan. Always enjoy a great tasting meal when we stop in. Many years ago, the Bob Evans farm was open to the public to walk around. It was a beautiful spread.
We ate at a Bob Evan restaurant when we traveled to Pennsylvania from Texas. This is a very beautiful countryside, I have seen his frozen meals at our grocery store.
We are Michiganders, and we have eaten at Bob Evans restaurants for decades. We just ate there this week. What a beautiful cemetery up above the river. I didn't know about his philanthropy but am not surprised. Thanks for the video of his and his wive's gravesite.
Excellent video, one point to call out that seems missed about the bench. It’s designed like the restaurant’s front entrance. The slanted “roof” sides with the scoop in the middle.
I used to eat a Bob Evans restaurant here in the Richmond Virginia area unfortunately it closed up. But I do still buy his products at the grocery store like the mashed potatoes and the macaroni and cheese.
I lived in Indiana for a couple years. I wasn’t wild about his restaurants. I hadn’t heard of them before moving there. I am from Louisiana I moved home few years ago. Glad I did I missed the good food.
The farm is on st rt 588 in Rio grande Ohio. They still have the festival in October each year. It isn't as big as it used to be but it's still a good time. You can't miss it once you are on 588 there are Old fashioned windmills in the field across from the main part of the farm.
I've eaten at Bob Evans restaurants many times. While living in Columbus, OH, traveling home to Charleston, WV, I would pass by the original farm and restaurant on US Route 35 in Rio Grande, OH. Rio Grande is 10 to 15 miles West of Gallipolis on US Route 35.
My parents and I used to frequent the restaurant often. Then, through ever changing corporate directives, frequent store managers, food quality, and questionable service, we stopped. I haven't been in one since 2013 but glad that "another Ohio 'boy' made good."
i first saw the resturant when i moved to fort knox, ky. actually it's the only time i've seen it. i live in vermont now. i miss ol' kentucker. good people and good food.
I have heard of him and his restaurants but we unfortunately had one where I live or anywhere near here. I saw an article on him and his grave site and restaurants just in the last week but don’t remember whose channel. That’s a beautiful site and view where him and his wife are.
No offense but they need to get a ram-jack under that headstone. It's tiltin towards the lake. With how much he left you'd figure someone could get that done.

My mom worked in his restaurant in Goodlettsville Tennessee. It's gone but there's one out by Opryland Hotel.
I wish we had one closer to Franklin.

How clever. Remember his commercials and ate at some. Seemed a nice down to Earth guy! Nice find.

Best biscuits and gravy. They are all over Ohio.
I was a young child since I had been to his restaurants. I do still buy his products in the grocery store.
Very nice!

That’s not too far from me!

I’m a fan of Bob Evan’s Mac and Cheese. And the mashed potatoes. I haven’t ever seen a restaurant up in Minnesota or Wisconsin area.
I have heard of him and his restaurants but we unfortunately had one where I live or anywhere near here. I saw an article on him and his grave site and restaurants just in the last week but don’t remember whose channel. That’s a beautiful site and view where him and his wife are.
