Reacently i watched some crap on how to make kinetic sand thnx to youtube flawless recommendation system-now that is kinda lame and for kids.BUT lightbulb came on ,he was mixing cornstarch with small portions of water and that made it sticky -what if you would add cornstarch to your casting sand to make it less prone to braking?
dont know if anyone gives a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my brother lately :)
I love how you ask what THESE knobs are gonna be for and some idiot feels the need to give examples of what they COULD be used for. Keeps the comments entertaining...
Nice to see someone else put a box together with each side both underlapping and overlapping adjacent sides - it’s the easiest way of making a box that does not rock - see my recent “journey through moulding boxes” video With cast in inserts I find it helpful to heat the insert to about 300 deg C to drive off any moisture and oils etc - you can either put them in the mould hot and cast immediately or, as I do , let them cool to room temperature put them in the mould cold without your skin touching them and pour at your leisure….. The fun of casting, some you win, some you lose. Next try without the added sprue cans on top, just make a funnel from the base sand. The heat dissipates so quickly. Thanks for sharing, Cheers mate
Very cool casting project. Maybe I will try out the concept with the inserted screws, I like this idea. Those Knobs a not a easy casting objects, I woud try more round corners and a more conical shape of the knob for better demoulding. To avoid layers of the 3d print being visible on the surface of the finished object you could apply a thicker varnish to the model and sand it down. A smooth surface of the model makes the work easier. :-)
Beautifully done! Maybe part of the problem with the first casting was that the bolts caused the aluminum to cool down to quickly and it couldn't flow as far as it needed to?
I don't have a crosscut sled yet, need to make one! For just four cuts it's quick enough by hand. Also, I think one should never cut pieces that are wider than longer on a table saw without sled!
Black Beard Projects AKA Mr Speedsaw... can you come to my place... I have lots of wood to cut, and you doing it would save electricity. What a clever idea - tongue and groove to accurately and easily locate the drag and cope. Love the machine-gun style sand ramming.
I love you man! I'm always checking for new videos, but I gotta ask, why did you use a handsaw to cross-cut the boards then take them to a table saw to rip them? Why not just cross-cut them on the table saw then rip them :)
Jein...
Ich nutze beides, kommt ganz darauf an, was ich machen will.
Hi there! If you don't care about flasks the knob cast part of the video starts at 4:30
Cheers!
I was expecting a drinking flask, you know the ones you sneak your alcohol into events. TIL flasks have other meaning too! Btw great job on the knobs
Fine job yet again.

that jig for making the 90's looked awesome! i like the idea of the tongue and groove too
I like that you show your failures in the videos and then how you fix them, great stuff!
Pure video watching delight. No guy ranting and super speed to show us only stuff that matters. Well done
Yeah, John, agreed. And no stupid loud youtube music! Thanks, BB.
The real question is what are these knobs going to be used for. 🙄
there are many uses
for example in sanding machine
he is making a belt grinder
I love how you ask what THESE knobs are gonna be for and some idiot feels the need to give examples of what they COULD be used for. Keeps the comments entertaining...

I like the idea of using T & G boards to make the flask, makes alignment a breeze. Nice work. Gonna have to try this on my next build.
Thanks so much for sharing the failures as well as the success. I learned way more that way. I may give this a try myself in the future!
BB, of all the makers on RUclips, you're the Master Caster.
Check out AlumiTube for some great castings.

Very Nice Sir. I've tried that. It's not easy. Your results, are quite amazing.... Well done.

Very impressive casting skills !!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice! I like how you kept in the attempts that didn't go as planned. Final version turned out great though.
Ideally designed and executed project. COOL!!!👍👍👍
Nice! One of these days I'm going to try casting.
Yes!! You'll love it. Thanks mate
It's like watching myfordboy - love it! 👍
Love them “didn’t come out so goods”. Lean so much more from!
Great project! Really love the design of the flask! Though it needed two times, you made some fantastic knobs!
Man, I love your channel, one of my favorites!!! Great job BBP!.
Thank you!!
Great job. I didn’t realize that’s called a cask. Learn something everyday.
Flask. And yeah, it always confused me too, since when I think of the word flask I think of something full of booze you keep in your pocket. :P
Really cool project. You could fill the recess around the letters with colored epoxy to heighten the contrast.
Enjoyed your video and gave it a Thumbs Up
Thanks... really awesome my friend 👌👌👌
Nice job! They look great!
Looking great! Hope more videos like this are coming! Thanks for sharing
(The combination of 3d printer and foundry )
That is such a great idea! Perfect to customize different knobs on machines! ❤
if you use cura to slice your parts, you can enable "ironing" to smooth the top layers, it leaves a perfect surface finish without any lines!
Thanks! Will check that!
Another amazing custom! Great done black!!👏👏👏👏🇮🇹💪💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very cool casting project.

I swear Lidl should sponsor these videos - I have the same Parkside tools and paints at home for my own unknown projects
Just came home from Lidl with the hand held vaccum :')
Your videos are so inspiring! I love these casting vids!
Hello like 189 thanks for sharing good work and beautiful result soon
Cool bro, nice work

i was looking for a liquor flask.. whoops! but now i want a knob!!!
Beautifully done! Maybe part of the problem with the first casting was that the bolts caused the aluminum to cool down to quickly and it couldn't flow as far as it needed to?
Great work!
Why did you use a hand saw to cut those boards when you had a table saw?

To get that awesome sound from the cutting!
Thanks for an honest and learning video. \bravo
Was waiting for a good old hot chocolate in a flask build, ops haha. Great work.
Good job bro 👍👍👍✌🏻
Really nice worke
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls
Nice job and ideas on both, thank you!
Clamped with tape, and nail thru the tape. Nice!!
Great job !

Excellent !!!
Thanks for the new video😊
Nice idea
never give up respect
If you could, what brand sand are you using with the mold, and what particle count? Also, are you just tamping the sand down with a hammer? Thanks.
Ótimo trabalho amigo
I would love to see guitar shape knobs....Rock on BB.
...lookin good, great job..
Nice job
Great video!! What kind of program did u use to design the knobs? Im looking for something similar
Who needs an air hammer with his speed 😅
We do sand casting in jewelry making too 💪🏼 by the way my letters are BP 🤘
I love you man! I'm always checking for new videos, but I gotta ask, why did you use a handsaw to cross-cut the boards then take them to a table saw to rip them? Why not just cross-cut them on the table saw then rip them :)
Hello. Please tell me, in what program are you designing? Please share the finished file.
He's using Fusion 360. Hobbyists can use it free of charge.
What adjustments you did in your drawing to improve out comes
hey why not to use plaster of paris for cqstinf mold
How did you round (draft? fillet?) the letters like that?
Measurements, reasons for doing the steps, materials a long the way would REALLY help..
What speed do you put your videos to
is there a video where you made that punching tool at 2:49 ?
Why you didn't polished your blanks after 3d printer?
How did you learn casting?
Very cool! Did you graduate in any school or University to do this ,my friend?
VERY NICE :)
very clever
You should use SS for the bolts instead of galvanized steel.
I see Lidl tools I press like
Nice. Thanks.
What is the purpose of the tin can chimney's, why not pour direct to the hole?
The material shrinks a bit as it cools down and by having some extra material this effect won't damage your casted knobs
Lovely knobs lol
You should sell those on your website!
What material did you use, for printing?
Regular Amazon basic PLA
what the name of program (app) that u used to draw 3d
Autodesk Fusion360
@@nospam4488 thank you bro
Perfect!
Craftsman!!
I love you!!!
It's been a while since a casting video, or a homemade tool.
