Wow! What memories! I lived in Whitehaven and grew up going to the Southbrook! I actually went to my first all night movie binge there at 12 years old! Also used to pass Graceland everyday and stopped several times to try and get a glimpse of Elvis and talk to uncle! I actually went on a date with his nurses brother who lived on the property and got lots of looks when the gates opened up and I drove thru! I did see him several times riding his horses and just generally on his property! Those were the days! I’m 61 now!🌻💛
I'm 60 and I remember him riding his horses beside the house many times
Those were the days!! Whitehaven was a great place to grow up. Graduated from Hillcrest in "78
I'm so glad that Billy is strong enough to participate in Elvis week movie viewing. I'm teary eyed just watching and thinking what it must have been like on that last showing. And, so glad that they are restoring the theater.
You are a wonderful man Spa Guy. You bring Elvis to our hearts, and without your passion and hard work we would only know a small part of Elvis. But you go above and beyond to take us in the steps he walked ,the life he lived. Forever grateful Billy..
Your right he is really good.
I was 2 days old on 8-12-77. But I love Elvis and The Spy Who Loved Me is my favorite Roger Moore Bond film.
What a special treat for Elvis fans to go and watch the same movie as Elvis did and with Billy Stanley being there. Amazing. Elvis was unable to get a copy of the film 'Star Wars' to view with his daughter Lisa Marie, so they watched the James Bond film 'The Spy Who Loved Me' instead. That happened August.12.1977. Great idea Spa Guy❤.
Thank you Mr Stanley for sharing this with us what do we know about the Stars we've learned to love and miss ,thank you so much for your time.from tk
Man I am so jealous. I wish I could make it down to Memphis to be there for this. Billy you and your team are changing everything for the good for Elvis fans. As Graceland gets more and more corporate and less like how Elvis wanted things, you guys are bringing back experiences for the fans that only a very lucky few people ever got to have with Elvis. And while obviously its different because Elvis isnt there now, it's still the absolute closest thing a fan can ever get to feeling what those experiences were like. Especially since you some of people who were actually there with Elvis involved and participating. It's just awesome, it truly is.
Elvis is truly everywhere!!! Thanks for the great video!
Hi fans ,love these stories about elvis that has never been seen before ,keep up the great work ,please post mire soon ,
Hi ,spa guy.l am Greek. We admire and respect Elvis Presley here in Greece. You do a wonderful job and also you work very hard with passion , love and respect for Elvis. Thanks for sharing all theses stories.
Get your popcorn ready. Sounds like so much fun Elvis style!
When I first moved to Memphis in 74 I lived in an apartment about a mile from there. Spent a lot of time in that mall. My father in law's brother was the manger of the mall. Billy looks good.
I love Billy Stanley he seems like a really good guy. This was interesting.
Such a great experience for fans ! Thanks for creating these unique experiences .
Omg..wish I could be there! Amazing. Spa guy 😊 15/8/2022.
My friend, I guess you already know this but the Theater Elvis went many times was the Memphian Theater at 51 south Cooper st. in Memphis. It had two side doors on the left and one on the right. My friend and myself use to sneak in by the side doors when we went to the Theater. Elvis I was told always sat in the center section about 9 rows from the rear. There were no seats in front of Elvis just a large walk though section before the next seats started again. I went to the same Theater myself many times. it also had a balcony upstairs. It probably wasn't the last Theater Elvis went to but I heard he really loved the Theater and came a lot with all his friend. God Bless You and Your wife. (Mac).
Hello Mac.. Nice to hear from you I have had several people say they emailed you but not heard back..
@@SpaGuy
I can't understand that, I've always tried to answer my emails. However, If they sent an email from a video, I could have missed that but I don't know how. You take it easy Billy, I'm now 89 and are beginning to feel all my pains. I seems like you just bat an eye and you are an old man, time goes by so fast. It;s been about 7 years now sense my wife passed away and it seems like it happened just yesterday. I hope your museum is doing ok.. God Bless You (Mac)
Thanks a lot for this story Mac ♥️
You are the best thank you for that 😊😊😊😊😊
PS: Happy Birthday Mr. Spy Guy. May God bless you with many more. Enjoy your day and have fun.

Happy Birthday Billy! Awesome video with Billy Stanley. Hey Billy Stanley are you wearing your signature Hound Dog racing shirt ? We know who taught you to drive, it was Elvis ! I still have the photos where you wrote on Elvis's wall after it was vandalized. One says all FB Elvis fans love Elvis..the other says Hound dog racing! Now you're gonna have to write...all you tube fans love Elvis ! too please .Much love to you and your wife Liz.Thank you for the video Billy, you're always up to something outstanding. Much love to you too TCB

Good to hear from you Bill Stanley #Its going on !!!
Very interesting information and to know something more about Elvis.
Very cool, good to see Billy again. Looking forward to seeing Stan Perkins again, Godbless. T.C.B.
I have more from Stan coming soon!!
Alright
I believe that Elvis wanted to see Star Wars , but ended up watching The Spy who loved me instead 🙂🙂
I'm kind of disappointed that Elvis' last movies were seen at multiplexes. As someone who lived during that era, older theaters and newer stand alone, large theaters were so much nicer than multiplexes like these. The older theaters were always way more ornate with beautiful curtains and decor. The newer stand alone large theaters usually had really comfortable seating, the huge screens and while not necessarily having ornate decor like the older theaters, they usually had very plush accommodations. In my area (Denver CO), movies like "Star Wars", "Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me", "Close Encounters" etc., played first in the big stand alone, plush theaters and then several weeks after opening, would move to the multiplexes. The multiplexes were just small and drab like these are with no curtains and not a very premium experience to see movies. The multiplexes were certainly not fit for a king!
billy stanley was elvis s stepbrother his mom married vernon presley in 1961
thats a great honor!!!!
Man, that would be so much fun. Kudos for doing this.

This episode was really interesting, I had no idea that theater was still there.
It has been closed for years recently restored and not quite done yet..
@@SpaGuy This is not the last movie theatre Elvis visited.
@@mariogmajner6549 Do have more info to share with us?
Not only are you beating Graceland, but now you're taking on TCM. Love it!!!! Good luck in your endeavors, not that you need it. Always enjoy your videos and thanx for what you do. Take care.
I wonder if Sir Roger Moore was aware that his James Bond film was the last movie Elvis ever saw in the theater?
I just watched that movie last week, cool your bringing it up. That was Sir Roger Moore’s fav Bond movie he made. Also the best Bond opening song by the talented Carly Simon. The movie debut in America on 7/7/1977.
Hahaah cool Boss. Thats so awesome Billy Just like He would have said if Elvis Presley was still Here nice 👍👍❤❤❤💙💙❤❤💙💙❤❤
That was great ! Keep these vids coming.
Wow Sweetarts in his Pepsi, never heard of that but sounds good! Wish I could be there for the screening, can't make it. I am gonna have to check it out when time presents itself. Thanks Spa Guy for more wonderful history!
ELVIS INSPIRED THE 90'S SKITTLES & ZIMAS! 😜🤣👏
@@kelliintexas3575 WOW, I didn't know that either!
I've greatly enjoyed your videos Mr.Billy. So much history and cool facts. Long Live The King 👑
I am glad you were able to put this together. The theatre looks so much different from last time you visited.
A tornado came down on Elvis Presley boulevard close to raines and Elvis Presley which is about a mile south of Graceland and I was in that tornado in one of the businesses that received damage 1974
Can’t wait! But I find it fascination Alonzo happens to be wearing a navy track suit! (I bet that’s what EP wore his DEA, navy, track suit, when he saw that movie!) When he walked up in the video that jumped right out at me!!
Mr. Spa Guy Billy and Mr. Stanley, I wish I could come to Elvis Week and go to the movies with you,see Graceland and also the New Elvis movie. I don't doubt that it will be a great feeling of pure enjoyment, I'm so thankful for your videos. Have a wonderful time videoing the event to show Elvis fans all the fun. Thanks again, you too Trey, as I'm sure your channel is going to explore and explore even more.⭐🥂🍾🎉💃💤💙💜🖤🧡💛❤⚡🐅🐅

Very interesting, I didnt know Billy worked for Elvis in August of 1977
He didn't.. He was showing you that way it was over the years of going to the movie with Elvis.. I did go with him to that theater for one movie but not the last movie..
Amazing! Thank you so much!
Hi Spa Guy. Billy Stanley bet was so cool go back see elvis last film
Billy Smith said that he always sat directly behind Elvis at the movies, and his wife Jo agreed with him. That spot was where Billy was supposed to be.

@@ericcrawford3453 Nice!!
You need to do a video with Elvis and Buffalo New York. (Obviously the Aud is no longer there) but Specifically the Hilton Statler Hotel in the City of Buffalo. Elvis stayed there in 1972 on the 7th floor, which was the first city he picked for his tour and recorded two songs in the rendezvous room which you can see in Elvis on Tour..
John every spot is on the list!!
Thanks for this Video! ♥️♥️♥️
What a cool event! Hope I can be there
Fantásticos recuerdos de lo que hizo Elvis, es emocionante ver los mismos lugares donde estuvo el, y muchísimas gracias por los subtítulos!!!☺️👏👏👏👏👏
Spa guy you should visit Whitsett NC right outside Greensboro NC on highway 70 at the old Brightwood Inn Elvis had his driver stop there one time and he ordered a cheeseburger and glass of milk and sat in a booth they will show you where he sat.
On the list..
Not to knock Graceland but how the HECK could Elvira EVEN COME CLOSE TO THIS!?!?! Billy you keep this up your gonna have to start checking your breaks over there at the Dojo 🤣😜😬😳
You can See Elvira and then come to the movie it starts at 11pm to 2 am..
Billy got to play the boss and be seated in the Movie Theater.😆

Thank you for all your hard work !! I’ll be in Memphis this year, and I’m looking forward to meeting you !!!
I wish I could go this year but I can’t. I hope it’s a great success and everyone has a great time.
Holy craparoni! What a great idea Billy! That's absolutely fantastic! Fab! I live in the UK, I just want to know what the hell are sweet tarts? In the UK what would be the equivalent? (If anyone knows) I'd love to have gone to the movies with Elvis! How great! That guy has done great doing it up. Thanks to Billy Stanley and you too Billy. 😎👍
I don't know what the equivalent would be in UK. But a sweettart is small hard candies that are sweet and sour. If you put them in drink they soften up. They are good. Every American kid eats sweettarts at some time in their life lol
It is a pretty old candy brand. You could probably find it one of the shops that sells International foods. Or just go to Amazon UK they have them there.
Pepsi and Sweet Tarts?! Well, he was Elvis no surprise! 😉🎸💜
I frequented this mall and theater quite a bit as a kid in late 70s. Saw Star Wars twice back to back. They also had an arcade area back then, would be interested to know if Billy recalls if they played any video games. Also when you walked in the mall there was a t-shirt kiosk where you picked out an iron-on design they had on display and they'd press it down to your shirt. Still recall the smell of the steam hit you right when you walked in the entrance along with the theater popcorn. They also had a Service Merchandise on the west end of mall where Kroger is today and a Montesi's Grocery on the East. Great memories!
Awesome Memories!!
@@SpaGuy when Elvis would rent the theater, was it a set price for how ever many movies and concessions the group wanted, like a $1000? Was that the same way with Liberty Land?
Thank You Spa Guy!
What nice video this was !!
And as usual you always come true with original places that Elvis went,
For us true Elvis Fans we always Enjoy and Appreciate your hard work.
Ps. Where would we get the tickets to see the movie Elvis style for Elvis week
Would it be possible for you to post this information?
Thank You Spa Guy and thanks to Tray as well
Great job!!!
