Beautiful cover, you have an amazing voice. I must also point out that the nirvana version was also a cover, this is a Leadbelly original.
Lead Belly's is a cover as well. In the Pines has been covered by countless musicians and goes back to the late 1800's.
@@CyberspyUsurped I agree, but Leadbelly does get credit for "where did you sleep last night", since it is a combination of atleast two folk songs who's original authors are unknown.

It's also the ending of one of the episodes of the walking dead videogames. It fits like a glove because it ends with Clementine, a 10 year old girl, sleeping in the woods.

As a massive Nirvana fan at the time they were about, I saw this come up and thought 'hmm, not sure a cover of this is a good idea' .. I've never been so glad to be utterly wrong. You totally owned it. Fantastic performance and arrangement, expertly rendered, and a total tribute to a chilling song and a spellbinding moment in music. Superb job. Some of her covers are absolutely amazing. Some not so much(to me). She’s obviously supremely talented. But THIS one may be her best ever. I’ve already listened to it like 20-30 times in the last 5 hours. Wow. So good.
She doesn't suit this at all there's a reason as well it's not written for a woman's perspective it's just one of those songs that's not suited to it he voice is great just horrendously unsuited to it. And lots of people think this as a session musician I can tell you straight out this bad. But she isnt bad just picked a bad song for her voice with this one. It's good to be nice but awful to lie and say something is good. They're is a million street musicians playing this better with no extras just an acoustic guitar.

I've just heard the very end of the cover. This is just fantastic! You really should be proud. What a haunting sound!! Genuinely THICK with passion and dripping with ominous undertones. Just lovely!
