    Ah ha!
    I have the same guitar
    It is an Indie ( made in Korea)
    After a set of strings and a full set up, she plays beautifully. Dont listen to the guys who tell you to buy a better guitar.
    I have been playing for 45 years and this is as good as 80% of the dozens of guitars I have owned. You are doing fine Viktor.

    you can buy if you want pal.. its over 4k usd..
    i made some changes on this guitar. pickups, frames, knobs and truss rod cover changed, after truss rod adjustment and some fret levelling, its my main guitar now. I also have a original gibson flying V and it sits in hardcase all the time ^^
    your argument is invalid...

    Bought one of these Grote 335 semi-hollow body guitars and i am very impressed how the quality of this guitar is, it is beautiful got the red color , took the pick guard of , got in the way, i did change out the pickups, they were ok , but i like the les paul pickups better. for $199.00 on Amazon or ebay you can"t get a better guitar.

    You know what's funny about all these Chinese guitar video's. So many people "knock it", call them POS' etc. What's funny is people see my guitar and they love it, some people have even told me that one of my guitars specifically is their favorite and have asked to buy it, trade for it, borrow it etc. Then I tell them it's a Chinese replica.. all of a sudden half of them now think it's a POS... the other have are astonished. Funny what people are trained to be think or believe by "brand" name rather than what they truly think or feel. People who knock Chinese guitars etc. are the same idiots that can't think for themselves or aren't afraid to back something against the status quo...So basically you aren't real. You're just a carbon copy of an idiotic society.

      oh yes the pups are crap. I order my guitars around which pups I'm going to be using. So as soon as the guitar arrives, I'm taking out the pups, the bridge etc. and replacing them right away..

      @angiep3883 8 лет назад

      +Ryan T chinese manufacturer are really good in terms of aesthetic hence why everyone loves it (including me! haha). Though I've heard people opening up the inside of the guitar to find everything is a mess. the truss rod broken, cables are all shit

    • @ryant3600
      @ryant3600 8 лет назад

      far I haven't had that problem thank goodness.. but yes they look great. which is why I buy them, cause I built a guitar a couple years ago.. and after all the time, money, stress etc that went into it.. I was like.. I can go back to buying Chinese guitars that look great, and just use them to get better at the electrical and hardware work etc. So that's what I do now. I mean look at the one in my profile pic.. 185 bucks for the actual guitar itself..can't get that anywhere.. For me to that, just the build and cosmetics it would have cost me probably closer to 500 bucks and time and stress... this is a way better option for sure. Some sellers now offer guitars with no hardware/electronics.. which I might do down the road. It's just quicker and easier to order as is and then strip them down to build them up you know.

    How is the playing action and intonation? These are most important, IMO, because pickups, switches and tuners can all be easily replaced with high-quality parts.
    But playing action/intonation is built-in and hard to fix if it is not fairly good to begin with.

    • @joemanuel5053
      @joemanuel5053 6 лет назад

      You don't know what you are talking about. I buy and sell guitars for over 30 years and they all have to be set up to the person likes, that includes Gibson and Fender est.

  • @aksisoylenemez
    @aksisoylenemez  11 лет назад

    You are right. But i think these guitars are better than epiphones. I had chance to compare.
    But the essence of subject is trick your friends or audience ^^
    By the way, i installed filtertron pickups and some minor hardware replacements. I will make 2nd video with sound test soon. Cheers!

    Тезка, какой именно китайский брэнд ? Как лады? приходилось ли выравнивать, шлифовать ? Брал на Алиэкспресс? Новые датчики поставлены уже ?

  • @aksisoylenemez
    @aksisoylenemez  11 лет назад

    Action is quite good (i did not made any thruss rod adjustment at all), and i cant say intonation is good as original gibson. But its fairly good. This guitar is playable, and very good option without hurting the wallet.
    I will put new video when i finish upgrades.

    Nice video. Your playing is OK, just keep practicing, How is the action (distance between the strings and the fretboard) of the guitar. Does it feel easy to play moving lower to higher frets? Any flaws on the guitar that you think could have been avoided? Thank you.

    • @aksisoylenemez
      @aksisoylenemez  6 лет назад

      i am keeping practising , thank you sir. Guitar was above average, high action can be adjusted to some degree. it was easy and fun to play. Not like original gibson es 335 ofc. I ve traded this guitar 2 years ago with a bass guitar. Feeling some regret though. :/

  • @aksisoylenemez

    Its not garbage i believe, thats why i post this video.
    We are making restoration these days. After finished i will publish another video.
    It s a freedom of choice actually, i prefer to pay 390 usd + 170 usd for restoration for this guitar, instead of 4700 usd for original gibson es 335.
    Btw i also had gibson flying V original, but i sold it after this one.
    I suggest buy one of those and see it for yourself.
    My regards.

    Snake, the current criticism is just like what japan got back when they were really starting to do some excellent work. NOW, they are often viewed as "the best". If you do your due diligence, you can get a great guitar for a great price. ASSUME you will have to change the pups. Some provide good ones, but most don't. Other than that, some basic setup and occasional fretwork (fretwork is pretty easy if you know what you are doing and I do), and you've got a great CUSTOM guitar you would have to pay thousands for in the US

    • @DrCowinabox
      @DrCowinabox 9 лет назад +3

      Japanese guitars are pretty good! Chinese... Some are ok... Others... Not really... I have seen several where the neck wasn't set properly, truss rod didn't function properly, binding wasn't done properly etc. Of course these issues exist in both USA and Japanese made guitars... But I haven't seen them personally. The simple fact of the matter is that USA made guitars are expensive, allowing more time to be put into the build and the quality control. Japanese guitars are usually a little less. Japan is all about efficiency and innovation. They get the guitar done. They get it done quickly and they get it done well. You can get a better bang for your buck guitar and maybe even a better guitar all together from Japan... They have always lacked a bit of character for be though... As most modern guitars tend to... They seem too... Sterile... Chinese guitars... They are even faster and more efficient than the Japanese. China has an abundance of cheep labor, and as such has a work force that is often less invested in their work. This isn't a knock on the Chinese as a people, I just don't believe their hyper capitalistic system is really conducive to quality products. What I'm saying is this... The most important part of the guitar is the guy who built it and how much care he or she put into it. I like both Japanese and American guitars... I think with some economic reform, China can be right up there

      I have a Japanese Alvarez acoustic dreadnought built in 1971, the first year of production, rather than handmade by Yairi. Aged spruce top, sounds equally as good as any Martin from the same year. And I remember when we guitar snobs dissed the Japanese for making "copies" because that was all they knew how to do. Well, time h
      as told, and I am happy to have a great sounding guitar that I don't have to worry about when I take it places. Just got a 335 Chibson, looks good. sounds good so far, though I plan to do upgrades on tuners and pickups, but for the price, I couldn't do better. Wonder what it'll be like in 45 years?

    • @bobdimarzio3541
      @bobdimarzio3541 6 лет назад

      Absolutely. Often a guitarist judges an Instrument more with their eyes and less with their ears. secondly many are concerned about what their friends might say if they are caught playing an "off brand". Currently there are a slew of videos comparing the Epiphone to their Gibson counter parts. are the Gibson a bit better? Yes. Are they $3000.00 better. Not to me. same goes for PRS's. Is the American $4000.00 guitar $3500.00 better than the $500 SE model? Not to my fingers and ears.

      Sap yaşken truss rod u koydukları için ilk zamanlarda akort tutmuyordu ama şimdiler de biraz daha iyi. Ağaç mı kurudu ne oldu anlamadım. Yakında bi tane daha alacağım Çinden. Gayet memnunum tavsiye ederim.

    Hey as we both live in Turkey, i was planning buy a Hollow Body Guitar. I was looking on Aliexpress. I'm speaking English 'cause there may be other people who wonder the same thing.
    Did you use EMS as the shipping company?

    • @aksisoylenemez
      @aksisoylenemez  9 лет назад

      bugramaras I guess they were only using EMS Bugra. I did not want them to change carrier company. But buying a hollow body is kind of a risky. Even it is in a hardshell case. I suggest you to go for solid body. Or use local forums to get 2nd hand hollow body. (like www.turkrock.com)

      I'd love to, but being a lefty and having short budget (Around 450$) left me choiceless.

      @Veritas84Aequitas 9 лет назад

      Viktor Markin Well, if you want to get technical about it my friend, it's actually called a thinline archtop semi-acoustic electric. But nobody says that.... Pre 1952-'53 era Gibson ES models were made hollow but the ES-335 actually has a center block of wood traveling through the center of the body (making it not fully hollow) which was designed to prevent feedback. It is and has been for years more commonly referred to as a semi-hollow electric model after 1960's era. I specialize in rebuilding and refurbishing these Gibson vintage guitars and have been doing so for about 20 years and learned from a luthier with 50+ years experience.

    FIRST THANKS for sending this video.BUT, why ARE YOU HIDING THE GIBSON headstock Logo? Makes no sense what so ever. The point was to PROVE you got the last one out of CHINA...MY PERSONAL OPINION is that its not illegal to own a fake just to sell one. But, Im no lawyer. So to prove yours is the last one out please remove that paper. Plus you can see the Canada sticker on the case anyway. AND can you check the TONE on your CLEAN CLEAN...turn the individual Tone POTS all the way to TREB. and

      Thanks mate. Being a guitar player takes lots of devotion, and time investment. I went deep into producing electronic music tracks, and stock music market these days. But when i have enough money, i will buy a real guitar. ^^ Take care!

      I have a real nice fender strat and i love it , i though nothing could touch it . But i was shocked by this 335 semi-hollow body guitar that blew my strat away. I t turned out to be made in china !!

    Awful sound. Very cheap and flat. This guitar is not worth its money. Such guitars fit those only who don't care of sound but logo.

      its acctualy even more farther right now, i changed pickups with 2 filter tron' s. And made some extra hardware changes also. Sounds totally different from 335 ' s now. But actually its not bad, its very bright with touch of definition. I d like to share a new video for it, near future.
      And i m still thinking original gibson s are overpriced.

      I agree, igor. I played one of their "lower end" beauties, totally hollow, and was blown away by the sound.

      i was in Guitar center today and played the 335 Ibanez and it in my opinion over priced , Epiphone 335 sounds alot better .
