Also says “Special Deluxe” on hood side badges, plus Special seat covers with leather trim and rear arm rests which Master did not have. I think you might be right but they would have had to patch the body line trim mounting holes. But then, it has the Master dome light. To be honest, the Special had too much chrome trim so this is a nice mix, Master understated good looks but with Special upgrades. The shifter is also not original, it’s longer with a different tip. Both the Master and Special in 1941 had a vacuum assist shifter and thus a shorter lever. Still a very nice car of course!
It's only original once! Restoration ruined the value, or patina, which is Russian for: "Duly Administered Character". I understand that, needs restoration, scrap it, or drive it the way it is, are three fine lines that all car collectors fight with during their tenure as a vehicle enthusiast.
This has the Special DeLuxe dash. Might this be a Special DeLuxe with some of it's exterior chrome missing?
