    Believe it or not, people aren’t jumping at the chance to jump out of their bed in a probably depressing grotty room, in a depressing grotty house which they probably spend a depressing grotty amount of money on - to then drag themselves down their depressing grotty street onto the depressing, grotty bus and into their depressing grotty workplace.
    The chattering classes just don’t get it. Peoples souls are dying, people aren’t robots.

    The reason is that there is no industrial industry like there was in the past, and AI is now going to replace many roles, which means fewer jobs. Most goods are imported. Call centres are increasingly outsourced abroad. Our town centres are largely empty of stores. The system has done this to the people, not the other way around. Companies are making cutbacks because of bad government policies, and the economy isn't good.

    It’s a great life who isn’t slogging their guts out for £12 a hour . If the government hadn’t allowed the EU to move all the industries over to Europe under the pretence that it was our interest. Help the companies to start up again pay these people a liveable wage and make it work for the workers . Stop using cheap labour that arrives by boat . And stop paying so much in benefits . I read a post that a women that claims she is unable to work due to her mental health complaining she only gets £1890 every 4 weeks to live on saying she doesn’t have to pay her rent but the system wants me to pay a per of my council tax . It made me aware of how rubbish I am trying to live on £860 every 4 weeks as an OAP who worked and payed into the country for 51 yrs look at that

    If your on UC then a single person claim is around a little over 300 a month that's not including rent. And a couple would get a little over 600 not including rent. So unless you are on disability benefit then it does not pay that much. I think this work shy culture is thinking the time I pay my bill, rent tax is a big one the amount of tax then if there left with the same amount then it's not worth working in there eyes.

    What are we working for? Can barely afford rent + bills, no social lives (as seen by the stats of countless venues closing), never will be able to afford a house, can't afford children, can't afford to look after ourselves properly, never get any meaningful pay rises (for the majority of us anyway), everyone is miserable whilst a select few continue to profiteer endlessly off of our labour.
    If people won't fill your empty positions then up the pay. Simples - but of course, they won't, because that would eat into CEO and shareholder profits. Can't be having that, can we?
    This isn't a right v left issue. This is a an elite vs the working class issue.

    Work life balance is brilliant. Providing it isnt to the detriment of others. When you are a CEO of a company, you aren’t in the position to call people they are work shy. I feel the opposite. Standard full time hours in the UK are 38-40 hours a week. That’s unheard of in most of Europe . I graft my bollocks off like many others so it riles me up hearing this

    The guy on the talk show is dilutional.
    I don't live to work. I work to live. I don't get up every morning thinking I'll enjoy work. I wake up and wait for when I can clock off so I can do something I care about and enjoy doing.
    Work is not always good for the soul. I've worked numerous jobs that actively sucked the joy and life out of me. I dreaded going to work at one point, I became anxious and depressed.
    Find another job? Good luck with that. Low pay. Shitty hours. Zero hour contracts. No balance between what people want to do and what they're forced to do.

    • @zaza4892
      @zaza4892 День назад

      ask yourself this, why can you only apply for low pay and shitty hour jobs? do you not have any talent at all to not even get an average paying job?

    • @goatsummoner
      @goatsummoner День назад

      @zaza4892 I have a university degree in science based subject. But I also happen to be autistic so I really struggle with interviews. So no, I don't need to ask myself why I used to only ever get low paid jobs.
      I've applied to better jobs and got no response from most of them.
      I'm no longer in a living wage job, but that's only because I stuck at applying for jobs for well over 3 years.
      3 YEARS. All whilst balancing work to pay bills, looking after myself and my relationships. And I did all that whilst being legally disabled. No benefits. No assistance from anyone other than my partner.
      We live in a world where corporations will hand out low wages and expect you to work silly hours. Business doesn't care about people. It cares about profits. If they can pay you less for more, they will.
