Just started learning Greek and watched some videos on the alphabets and this is helping a lot having me remember and figure out all the sounds of them.
Going to Cyprus at the end of June for a very quick trip, so definitely wish to learn some Greek fast! I have started Pimsleur's Greek which is awesome, but I also wanted to see the language too. This is really excellent to learn in combination with Pimsleur!! Thank you so much! Se efcharisto para poly!
When he uses "/" he means "this or that"... -kalos orisate OR kalos irthate (has the same meaning) -fititìs OR fitìtria (male OR female) -siγuros OR siγuri (male OR female) -xronia polà OR eftichismèna genèthlia OR na ta ekatostiseis (almost the same but with other expression they mean 1)i wish you to live many years 2)happy birthday 3) i hope you reach a hundred years. But the most common is the 1st=xronia polla, not the 2nd that is translated as happy birthday.
One thing I've found with all the Greek phrase videos is that Thankyou is never shortened but in Athens anyway people don't say the full efcharistó but instead, aristo. Like in UK thankyou is shortened to thanks or even 'ta'. It's odd that that this isn't recorded anywhere (I could find anyway)
@@christykemavor2742 We don't say ''aristo'' because that's a different word lol, we do say 'fcharisto tho (which is prob what they meant), just like we say 'mera instead of kalimera sometimes. It's pretty common.
There is a lot of mistakes like sometime what's written is not the same as what is said like the seconde line is written tileorasi when the guy say toaleta at 32:33
GREETINGS EVERYONE. RECENTLY I STARTED TO WORK ON GREEK RESTAURANT. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO. IT WILL BE VERY HELPFUL TO LEARN BASIC CONVERSATIONS WITH COWORKERS AND CLIENTS. I KNOW I CAN WATCH THE VIDEO ON MY FREE TIME BUT ANYBODY HAS THE ENTIRE VIDEO ON WORD OR PDF FILE? I SPEAK RUSSIAN LANGUAGE TOO AND SINCE THE RUSSIAN ALPHABET CONSISTS OF 33 LETTERS SOME OF WICH WERE BORROWED FROM GREEK LIKE Ф ф sounds like "f" in fasten, fact IT WOULD BE EASIER TO IDENTIFY AND PRONUONCE. HAVE A NICE WEEKEND EVERYBODY.
When you have three things separated by "/" does that mean they are separate, interchangeable synonyms for that? Also does a woman say the same thing as a man?
Yes, they are Interchangeable. No, it's the same for male and female. Only the suffix is different. For example beautiful/ ομορφος For male όμορφ(ος) For female όμορφ(η) For adjective όμορφ(ο)
Well done. You start a video with a good picture that says Hi! Ja Su! = hello! Get Lost! And you expect them to learn!! Then again is for people who don't speak Greek so they won't care that you have a mistake.
@@sado1631 no, you don't, it's a beautifull language, but some greeks are a little gelouse of their world because they are very patriots. It take only a little for learning well the alphabet
@@giovaneitalia8312 The alphabet is the easiest thing to learn in any language lol. The reason people say Greek is hard is because Greek grammar is a bit different from the Germanic and Romance languages most Europeans speak. Greek is definitely far from the hardest language in the word to learn, it's just that it's ''harder to learn'' for a European in comparison to the other European languages. Also, I don't think it's Greeks that say Greek is hard lol, we already know Greek after all. The idea that ''Greek is hard'' comes mainly from other Europeans. We actually love hearing foreigners speak our language and it's something we like to encourage, not discourage.

i dont recommend having so many things written on the "board", cause the mind has a lesser concentration then on the words

Very good, but it would help if the definite article was placed before the noun.
