Basically there are three types of fuel in Brazil: gasoline, alcohol or diesel, in its variants: with or without additives.
You had quite a dilemma of not having enough gasoline to reach to your destination, but God Almighty helped you and you were successful in filling your gas tank after getting the towing help from the stranger motorcyclist. That person who helped you was very hospitable and kind person.

With a 23 L tank with over 350 KMs range in places like these there is no need of carrying extra weight. It was my miscalculation on the fuel consumption with high percentage of alcohol in it. On my way to pantanal I saw many pumps but I didn’t fill because I assumed I have enough to return and then refill. For far destination like I will do in Patagonia I will definitely take extra fuel with me. Even in Afghanistan I didn’t need extra fuel with me. I Hope you get my point. Thanks
