As an ER/ICU/Trauma Nurse, I can guarantee that the safest place to escape a Nuclear Blast, is a hospital's Radiology Department. ALL Radiology/X-Ray Departments walls are Lead-lined to prevent Radioactive Isotopes from being spread out to all areas of the hospital and the Community. In Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama all utilize hospitals as fallout shelters, hurricane shelters, etc., because of the reinforced strength and Lead-lining of the hospital walls. Hospitals also have reverse ventilation in case of contaminated air, whether it be from outside contamination or patient contagions. Thus, will filter out nuclear fallout air contaminants. Just an FYI for all those who did not know. Now I'll be in trouble for sharing this valuable info, when millions of people show up at the hospital rioting to be let inside. Lol
7 days? 14 would be the recommendable. Although 14 days without food or water is a death sentence on its own. Also something what none of these videos say....never stand or sit close to the walls. With such strong blast, your bunker or shelter walls will bounce back and forth and can seriously injure or kill you. Hot spots and neutron activated materials will still kill you after 14 days, so get a geiger counter or if you can find an unbroken neon lamp, use it to detect radiation. The gas in the neon will excited by the radiation and it will emit light.
Thank you for the life saving info. I didn't have a clue what to do in a nuclear explosion. It is surreal that we may need to know this. I will be looking out for more info on the internet.
Used to watch these to hypothetically debate with my friends which of us had the best ideas about what to do. But now I’ve got two kids and the world is only getting more tense so, here I am once again. Just to freshen up, ya know.
You’re gonna be buried 6feet deep underground regardless if not today after 50 years you will die of natural causes so don’t worry too much death is part of life question is are you prepared for afterlife because that’s eternal
So basically my take from this video is that its probably better to be hit directly by a nuke, than suffer the indirect and try to survive in a wasteland.
Instant death would probably be the best thing. What’s the use of living through a dead world. What are you going to eat? Fresh water will be contaminated with radiation. Food supplies will be pretty much destroyed. I do agree that places like South America won’t be hit by missiles, but nuclear winter will be worldwide. The only thing that happened with the Soviet Union becoming a free nation was just prolonging the inevitable. Putin is the new Hitler. He just wants to start with one country at a time, until he controls it all. He and China are friends. China is a communist country. The same thing that Russia was before the Cold War ended. He doesn’t care about his own people. He’s only out for himself. I’m sure our presidents have always had a safe place to bunker down for a nuclear attack. Probably a place to sustain people for years. That’s nice and all for them, but the rest of us are up shit creek without anything close to resembling a paddle.
@jeremy Whitworth you're the only other person I've seen online who is saying what I am. So what is your plan? I'm packing a bag for a bunker for me and my daughter and husband. But nobody believes me that this is happening. We are in the US. I have always laughed at doom preppers but with all this i do believe it's over soon now
@@jeremywhitworth7299 U got it totally right. I just had this conversation with my buddies at work the other night and we all agreed if it's gunna happen we just want to go with the first hit, no warning, no dying slowly in a nuked world afterwards.
Since I was nine years old this is my biggest fear. I'm 59 now. But God said do not fear. But living today knowing this day is coming deep in said you can't help it but to fear and hope that God will cover you in this mess.
Don't worry when u hear the emergency alert signal just hug ur loved ones that are with u, grab a cold one then sit back and relax cuz it'll already be too late.
"You gotta live the rest of your days on canned food" ...Oh WOW ! What a magnificent Idea ! Why didn`t I think of that before !...A Nuclear Showdown would leave a plenty of canned food on limitless stocks laying around in every street corner. One only has to pick them up and go somewhere and eat them to survive ! Thanks for this gracious tip mate !
The biggest question is who in their right mind would ever want to survive a nuclear attack where everything that you know and love has been destroyed and you wind up surviving and facing an agonizing death
Most of the popular assumptions in people minds about a world after a nuclear war are wrong. Different radioactive particles do have a different half-life, some have a very short half-life and some a very long. The latter is not a problem, its activity is very low. The former is deadly only in the first 2-3 weeks. The biggest problem are the isotopes with an intermediate half-life. Fortunately, nuclear weapon explosions don't release large amounts like nuclear reactor accidents do. So to make a long story short, as long as you have a nuclear bunker to spend the first 3 weeks in, your chances of surviving a nuclear war are pretty good. The radioactivity decreases significantly in the first few days so that life on the surface is possible after about 3 weeks. The cancer rate will be a little higher, so when it comes to eating, you will have to be careful about what you eat. But there will be no dusty deserts like in Hollywood movies, but life will blossom again afterwards. The stupidest thing you can do is try to drive into the center just before the explosion. Because the chances that you don't get close enough to ground zero and then suffer from third degree burns and languish in agony for many days are pretty high.
Depending on where exactly you are when the nuke hits, hiding wont do much for you. Epicenter: Everything above the ground and probably even under it will be just gone. Blastzone: If it is not the blast, there are still the thermowave or a lack of oxygen that kills you (blast buried you) After that there is still the possible firestorm. Outside from these your chance for survival rises. Post apocalypse i think Drinkable Water, Food and Meds are worth more than gold.
gold won’t be worth anything for years or decades. Mediums of exchange may come about after many many years or even decades. In the meantime food, water, medical supplies and other equipment (like geiger counters, hazmat suits etc.) and especially military equipment like guns, ammo etc. are going to be worth the most.
@@Bambibel Obviously gold won't be "worth" anything (as in *useful* for anything), but TBH it isn't now either. Apart from a tiny market in electronics it's only valuable for making shiny jewelery. I suspect that post-apocalypse, the warlords who assume power will very much take gold and diamonds as valuable, although they may just TAKE it, without giving anything in return. From hearing it in a book, I reckon the most valuable thing will be sprits. That's what I'd stockpile, 100 bottles of shop-brand vodka. Useful and tradable.
I am making a journal full of Tips, tricks, survival, recepies, blue prints, hand drawn map and another one of only America and England, and I'm writing down alot of how to survive stuff and also writing down braille, morse code, sign language and alot of ciphers!! Tbh,I am not parranoid,I'm more like a perfectionist,I need to be ready for everything xD including the apocalypse! Thanks for the video! I'm gonna write it down so it might one day save me!
@@khanakinskywalker6704 *inhale* No,no I can't. Because I gave up half way since I found someone who already done the same, How to stay alive - By bear Grylls. It's in the title, over 300 pages of info on how to fly a plane in an emergency, build shelter, hang a squirrel and more!
You can make a makeshift respirator with a damp rag or towel it will help prevent you from inhaling toxic dust, steel wool and a 9volt can start a fire, just don't try to be a hero unless it's absolutely necessary. When you life goes from casual to survival you can't chance the smallest thing. Stay safe out there friends.
I have an idea for how to survive. How about you show us how to win in these scenarios. For example in this video tell us how to rebuild society and overcome the apocalypse
Also, in case IF a nuclear apocalypse happens, zombie apocalypse would probably follow sooooo.. to move north or to not move north? That is the question.
@@vaijantisingh277 true, in zombie films, its better to move north, its like a bunch of birds moving south for the winter, but for post apocayples, its but to go somewhere warmer.
@@gameby4154 So if you move north, you'll have to survive freezing conditions, and if you move south, you'll have to survive the zombie apocalyse (radiation zombies). What you can't avoid is 1. Temperature would start to drop ALL over earth because all the smoke and ash etc (after the explosion) will block sun's heat and (possibly) light. So zombies will mostly be around the explosion and in tropical and sub tropical areas. In this case it's better to move to somewhere really far from the explosion site, and it should be in the temperate zone. 2. No matter where you go, collecting food and water will be extremely difficult, due to less vegetation because of drop in temperature and/or radiation dust EVERYWHERE.
@@vaijantisingh277 unless you have plantly of seeds and wait until radition drops down, you can make a crop field if you know what you're doing, i took gardening class so i know what to do in the case of a zombie apocalypes, its better to go to warmer places FAR AWAY from the bomb, radition will cause all plant matter to die and NO there will not be mutanted zombies with unatural powers, its all crap and sciences fiction, cancers is the worst in the time to have it, but where i live gets pretty hot in the summers, so thats on thing, but if a bomb hit oklahoma, then im done for.
For anyone serious about wanting to survive a nuclear war, heed the warnings before the missiles launch and head as far south towards the Mexican border as possible (If you're in the States). The fallout won't affect much of the southern hemisphere as there's almost no targets there, so getting towards South America is your best bet for overall longevity of survival.
Ain't no way I'm going to Mexico without a car it's not that it would take too long (if it can save my life idc if it takes a year) but there's gonna be scorpions snakes and many other things on the way there and ain't no way I'm sleeping outside knowing a rattlesnake can bite me in my sleep leading to my death I would rather stay in a populated city instead of being eaten in my sleep
Being prepared BEFORE this situation should be #1! Having weeks in supplies, such as food, water, medication, things to barter with. I could go on and on. Honestly gold would be toward the bottom of my list.
It's not necessarily safe to leave shelter after 72 hours. While the radiation levels will be less than 10% of original levels, all exposure is cumulative. If the dose rate is still 5 rads per hour due to hot spots that haven't decayed to safer levels, then remaining outdoors for 24 hours will give you a total dose of 100 rads, which is enough to give you mild radiation sickness and elevate your risk of cancer in the future. Leaving shelter after 72 hours is a good idea only if there are essential tasks to perform, such as finding food and water, and you don't need to spend much time acquiring them. Or your shelter isn't good enough to remain in and you need to find a new shelter. The good news about nuclear war, if you can call it that, is that most metropolitan areas will be hit by air bursts - that is, detonations that happen high in the sky to maximize the area of damage. Air bursts generate little to no fallout. It's the fallout coming in from military bases and hardened targets like underground bunkers that you need to be worried about.
Go to a hospital's Radiology Department, as the walls are Lead-lined, and is why all hospitals are utilized as Fallout Shelters. Just an FYI from an ER/ICU Nurse. Your welcome.
I live in an area where nuclear missile silos are scattered all over. There is also a huge National Monument a few miles from my home that you can drive to the top of. If the time ever comes for a nuclear war, my goal is to get to the top of the Monument as fast as possible. There will never be another fireworks show anything like this one.
Why would a god send you a video instead of giving Putin a heart attack? Why do people give god credit for good things and but never hold it accountable for the bad? Especially since it supposedly created lots of stuff to kill us.
I really don't think hiding in a basement of a building is a good idea as when the building collapse you might not be able to get out through all that debris
@@hikonz Sorry, but the chances of you surviving a nuclear war is very, very slim. I don't even think you would want to see the horror that comes after the initial attack

As an Indian Living in a tense neighborhood, covered with nuclear power country Pakistan and China , both enemies, it is important to learn from this video
Well I feel like you should just not do anything in the nuclear explosion since you won’t even feel anything once you meet your feet and it would be also be very hard to survive
I think the most unlucky are those left with cancers and severe skin burns. Dying immediately seems a better way out because you wouldn't feel anything, instantly pulverised.
I don't see us bouncing back from a nuclear apocalypse easily as they seem to think it will be. I don't think we'll ever come back from something like this! And, even if you got supplies and resources for 10 years you're still going to be in a world where you can't grow anything much. what are you going to eat after your supplies run out! How you going to buy food even if you have gold!? You'd basically have to save food, water, medicine, information, and, tools, for the rest of your life, in Your bunker,. BEFORE, the bombs dropped, and, if you have a bunker, be able to get everyone you care about, INSIDE, including yourself, before the bombs are even fired off, in a! best case scenario. If the bombs ARE fired off, however, we're in a less than a "Best Case" situation, already! I think you'd better just head for your nearest target, and, hope your right on target, so the FIRST nuke takes you out in a second! There's going to be horrors you don't want to see, in the days and weeks, ahead, IF you do suevive all those nukes going off ALL around the world! I don't think even the most uncivilized, lost, jungle tribes could survive, even if they're not hit directly, the nuclear fallout and nuclear winter, will get them, inevitably!
Canned food won't last forever. The most important source of food would be grains and seeds for planting that is if you find a suitable place to settle. You might also have to eat bugs. The most valuable commodity would be water not gold. If 90% of the world is wiped out due to war and 5% kill each other for food, there would be enough gold for the remaining 5% - that is if you can find it.
A nuclear war happens: Astronauts inside ISS with radiation protection, water and food for a long time, has knowledge about radiation, has own comminication systems and very far away from "the bang": PATHETİC They realize they can't search for supplies and they don't have gold: Oh no They can colonize mars and start the perfect civilization: Anyway
Well i'm not a wise-ass , but inhabitans of space stations will definetly perish . Without nobody to deliver them essentials they will run out of supplies soon . They will last few months and then probably starve there . And colonizing other planet is impossible without proper materials and equipment
I doubt it The International Space Station, is "stationed" at a point where it can be reached from Earth, fairly easily. It doesn't have the capabilities to travel as far as Mars, nor,the supplies to last even a month, IF, they could get there, not gonna work, all they could do is watch the fireworks go off on earth below them while they were waiting to die off! Maybe some aliens could come by and put them in there Intergalactic Zoo just to keep a fragment of humanity alive somewhere.
@@petergant8767 RE: "The International Space Station, is 'stationed' at a point where it can be reached from Earth, fairly easily." I doubt it. The only countries that currently have the capability to send crewed missions to LEO are Russia and China. However, after a nuclear war, the infrastructure needed to do this would most likely be wrecked.
Colonizing Mars when Earth is totally fucked up and most of humanity is dead? With absolutely nobody to provide supplies and resources for them? Those astronauts must be personifications of God himself for that to happen.
They went off in the 1940’s and 50’s. Not anymore. Not that I know of. 98% chance you will not hear them as almost all of those sirens have been dismantled. If we have a nuclear event trust me you’ll know. And you’ll know to hide in your basement for 3 days or more.

Lol

@@senditshop4032 Agreeable!
I did not know that about the neon lamp that’s pretty cool
Do you not own a tap?
Wow great info about the neon light did not know that. I'll be buying a bulb.

How long can you hold your breath, Turkey

& 👍 TRUE !!!
Exactly, anyone in doubt about this needs to watch Threads.

Post apocalypse i think Drinkable Water, Food and Meds are worth more than gold.
In other words, I'd rather perish in a direct hit then have to suffer through the chaos & doom afterwards.
gold won’t be worth anything for years or decades.
@@gameby4154 So if you move north, you'll have to survive freezing conditions, and if you move south, you'll have to survive the zombie apocalyse (radiation zombies). What you can't avoid is

You can't escape this, NO-ONE CAN IT'S INEVITABLE

Colonizing Mars when Earth is totally fucked up and most of humanity is dead? With absolutely nobody to provide supplies and resources for them? Those astronauts must be personifications of God himself for that to happen.
