True until a raider hits you with a pipe pistol and the next gen top of the line armor that’s held on with super glue and zip ties goes flying off dramatically
Other than the fact it breaks in multiple pieces, requires power cores that weren't a thing in the other games, and Nora, random NPCs and raiders can use power armour despite not having the training for it like the BOS or Nate. It was very badass.
Fallout 1 to new Vegas: power armor is highly specialized and incredibly strong armor. Fallout 4: basically a vehicle with the same durability as paper mache
Imagine a mod that gives you Frank Horrigan's voice lines Colonel Moore: We did not just fight over the dam only to lose it to... ummm... Frank Courier: Actually, you did. Your ride's over, mutie. Time to die.
Yeah one thing fallout 4 got perfectly was the power armor itself- it felt like you were walking in a tank- one that restricted you in some ways but also made you a badass in others
Yeah, but they messed with the lore too much. The feeling of power armor in fo4 is awesome, but having any raider and / or character being able to enter and use power armor completely goes against the power armor training that was needed to use it. I can understand nate because he was in the army, but a load of random bandits, I can't. They also added Fusion cores, which is just a balancing thing, but it goes against the lore. Power armor used to run on a single microfusion cell, which could run then for about 1-200 years. I love what they did with the feeling of power armor, I just wish they hadn't bent the lore so much...
Seeing a guy in power armour one handing an LMG is badass. Be even cooler if you were able to dual-wield (i know it would be overpower as hell lol). Really cool mod.
I will say that with Fallout 4, they nailed the way a person would feel when wearing power armor. Each set is huge and makes you feel like you have power behind your punches.
I like the bulky feel of all power armor. But t45 being bulky feels cursed to me lmao. I feel like, since it's the first and least efficient model, that it's sorta lanky and petite looking design fits it all things considering. And also cause the skinny armor paired with the gigantic shoulder pads and helmet always had a unique and cool look, and set itself apart further from the bulky t60 model.
They did the t-51’s design dirty, damn thing looks like a bobble head, and the chest plate proportionally small to the rest of it unlike the original two games where it was a almost cartoony ‘strongman’ look
One of the best things fallout 4 did was power armor. Making it an external suit that you have to climb into, the fact it drains power, the ground shaking when you jump
This is pretty much what I define as a "required" mod for New Vegas and 3. It adds so much more presence to the Brotherhood of Steel when you see them marching in those giant suits.
Man, screw the Brotherhood, this makes ME have so much more presence rollin into town and literally looking down an everyone. Gives an actual reason to wanna wear heavy armor in ttw
There is also a mod that brings back the old DT and STR+ stats of the original armors! the only downside is for some reason the mod creator added like 3 more times the weigth of the armor, idk, that strange fetish that mod creators have with "balance" making a good thing and instantly ruining it by adding something no one asked for.
I don't remember my enclave power armor in fallout 2 asking for a new fusion core every 5 minutes, and the parts sure didn't break during every fight. fallout 4 did nothing like the older games, the devs never had any respect for the older games to begin with.
@@Rorschach1998kinda half agree and disagree with you. I think the power armor is great, but I've also tailored fallout 4 to my liking and old fallout ambience. But I guess the fusion core is fair, should last longer but in f1 and 2 you are impenetrable to small arms fire completely, AFAIK

The power Armor in Fallout 1 and 2 is pretty cool, getting the "Hardened" version of the T51b really makes you feel like a space marine from Warhammer, especially when the "You were critically hit for no damage" pops up.
I installed the mod a while back, but I was never able to get the Remnants/Tesla armor working correctly. A real shame, since those are the best looking ones in the mod.
