Hey all swaddle team. I need an advice.. i am 25, earning a decent amount for living. I was in a relationship for a while and then broke up with him as things didn't turn out to be working at that moment but we chose to stay friends. However, as much my family is pressurising me to get married, i feel like i have started developing feelings for this guy. I don't know if the feelings are genuine or am I making him the scapegoat to avoid choosing someone random.
If you have that doubt, part of its true, stay away for a while, we can love people to not want to be with them forever as well, maybe he's a rebound and you want that attention that you miss in a relationship, trust me the guy would be hurt for no reason, DONOT TRUST YOURSELF SO MUCH, human attention span+distraction+commitment we all know and we aren't above it and we aren't clinical best examples of good people out there all the time, take a break from it all, thank the ability to marry late and marry right in current society
Been in your shoes. Considered asking my bestie to marry me. Luckily realized these kinds of shortcuts and zabardasti "feelings" were just me looking for a way out. Not fair to the guy or myself. If finding a rental house is tough for single women, it is 2x for single Muslim women (though I am anti-religion). I bought my first apartment at 29 and the amount of harassment I faced from banks was criminal. Finally, I had to threaten them to file a case and spread it in social media. The thought of being forcefully married is tough. The laws for being single in the country makes us feel like a sin for the country. The problem is that both men and women who are "single" hate the society due to brutal discriminations. Instead of getting women married to men and vice versa, let the single people work on their financial growth and development by which, they can acquire a property. The problem is that the Gen W, Gen X and Gen Y made it difficult for the Gen Z to find livelihood. Whenever we need a job, chances of finding the right job is located in other states and by staying in other states means to find rent which is tougher than finding jobs these days. Marriage is not the key for every success. We are entitled to succeed only when we work on them. Marriage is like an obstacle these days. I am just adding mixed emotions here because it is what it is.
I'm 24 and i probably never want to get married as i love to free and in control of my life. This opinion might change but the only thing that holds me back is the idea that I'll be unsafe. Does anyone else think like that?
I think we need to make men and women equally strong to be able to choose singledom as life decision. We do stigmatise women for being single, but we also never care for single men. Have we ever asked why is it that men are more desperate to get into relationships? Why single men commit more sucides? Why are men so emotionally unavailable? I quite often feel that we have it the other way round, men are much more dependent on women for their emotional stability, and ofcourse it is not good for a balanced society. If we only empower and encourage women to embrace singledom and independence, we will leave a generation of emotionally unstable men behind.
We are well aware- Hence we are opting for no marriage.See the rates of crimes around, and the criminals walking away in most cases. If the men doesn’t value a woman’s safety and respect the same as his, after a significant amount suffer ,they will finally learn.
I think Indians need to come up with new norm that for every huge bank fraud like Mallya case, government and banks together will use same amount to support women and other marginal section of society in form of study, business and other loans. This will be a simple way for the banks and government to apologise for their mistakes while uplifting the ones that really need it. This way either women and marginal will get uplifted or fraud cases wont happen.
While filling a patient's icmr form for covid testing, I asked her to give me her adhar card number. As a routine I looked at the adhar card to verify the number. But she gave her husband's aadhar card. Saying han inka hi le lo. Mera nahi laya. Ghum gaya hai. And many other excuses. The level at which some women identify themselves only because of their husbands is shocking.
Life changes hell alot i believe after getting married…nothing like literally nothing remains same….and the worst part is we ourselves get used to all of it is what im scared of
I myself am is single and hence I advocate ppl to remain individual until they find a partner fit for them if ever. Now 1 point I wanted to mention here is when we say women adept better at finding emotional support system than men I from my acquired knowledge feel it has more to do with evolution then anything else meaning they have always been confined within the walls and given work and responsibilities that deal within the family. They have been cultivated to grow with thoughts and emotions to deal with daily chores. While men have more been associated with work outside home. With women remaining singleton (or working and going out of house to work like men) it will bring in a behavioral change with time. Always remember, with every new system that promises few benefits initially have certain downsides. This world is cyclic, what ever system we develop will work for few days (years or generations) and eventually we human may find the alternate system more promising after that. And then switch to that system 😀

Pets are preferred because if evolution didn't make the process of making children so pleasurable, many people would voluntarily opt out. At least in crowded (also frustrated) India, single woman adopting children should be rewarded. So many people, yet hard to find compatible partners.
I am 28, lifelong Celibate and single, made a house for my parents at 27, living my best life. I don't see a reason to get married when I am free bird with no restrictions. I have a very caring and cooperative family. So I don't need any faltu ka lafda
They are greedy men, and they have a lot of body count nowadays and no purity at all, a man would think am I marrying a mother for my child or a sex worker nowadays? They have too many affairs compared to a woman in the past. Many women still think the body count for men and women are same, actually, they don't understand only Men of a higher social status get women but women of any social status can get laid. I urge all men to marry a woman who is 23-26 Irrespective of caste. If a woman is marrying you after 32 remember she is not marrying you by compromising with you. Do not marry older women and give them a chance most of them are filled with past traumas like “all men are the same” kind of notions. Being a man society expects you to take care of her and protect her even though she earns well because India is not the US to call 911. Being a man you have gotta protect her and after all this, you have to welcome the burden of traumas she comes with. Older women in the chance to woo richer men travel with them have hookups and remain with the heartbreak of them abandoning them too. Marrying a girl inside 25 from any class. If you think it's funny reading all this go to a nearby court or spend a month in a family dispute advocate chamber by giving him some money or reading court judgments on divorce and alimony, just because your friend is a feminist you don't have to accept to her for your insecurity (nobody helps you financially) they might shame you, morally judge you and hurt your reputation for having these views but remember you have mother and father whose reputation is too at stake and when she comes she will take your surname. Again never give a chance to an older woman and marry a younger one even if she is uneducated or of lower class.
Being single is much more happier if you can't find the matchable partner with similar mindset ...being single myself I want strong law and order and availability of basic facilities

I feel really bad for my mother, aunts and grandmothers who weren't even given the option to stay single as per their choice, unlike my female cousins, female friends and me, who do what we want and love to do, take our own life decisions and would only settle down if we feel like, without any external pressure or third person's opinion. And I really hope that more women start doing it as soon as possible, that is live life on their own terms, irrespective of political, social and economic backgrounds. ♥️

Only weak muthals need women for emotional support.
Men were always loners as saints, adventurers and mystics.
We are well aware- Hence we are opting for no marriage.See the rates of crimes around, and the criminals walking away in most cases. If the men doesn’t value a woman’s safety and respect the same as his, after a significant amount suffer ,they will finally learn.
