@@DarenYoong hi i like would like to ask, i recently got a BYD atto 3, during charging, do i need to unlock my car first? then when the charging is starting, do i lock the car to prevent people unplug the charging port halfway?
For anyone considering, Singapore car market is unique, do note the PARF at the end of 10 years when you calculate depreciation. At 96K COE, Model Y is about S$21.16K/yr (PARF S$26.1K), where as the Atto 3 depre is S$17.388K/yr (PARF $0). Difference is around $3.8K/yr = $10.40/day. For additional $10.40/day, you get better tech software OTA, safety & resale value.
Your calculation is based on straight line depreciation. Calculate net present value (NPV) of the price difference and see what is the extra cost in 10 years, ie. with the $50k or so savings, if you don't spend on the car, but put in fix deposit at 3.5% interest rate, the whole calculation you made would be very different. Of course this is purely based on value, and nothing to do with individual desire of car ownership, because when it comes to cars, emotion is often the deciding factor in choosing a car.
Unless it is unique in SG, all EVs resale value are crap worldwide and Tesla is no different. When it comes to Safety this Atto 3 just received Euro NCAP 5 star and therefore the safety argument is irrelevant as well and the only benefit of Tesla right now is software which BYD needs to catch up.
Don't put it on Per day basic. Try Per month or Per year, you will see a huge difference. $312 Per month and $3796 per year. More than enough to change iPhone every year. haha. Kidding

Thanks for the review…. Tesla Model Y is far superior compare to BYD… Tesla Model Y makes it cheaper with the all features you get from Tesla Model Y… the FSD alone is priceless!
Battery is the most crucial and expensive component in an EV. As far as I know, the blade batteries Tesla use are invented and made by BYD. So if you buy Tesla, you actually pay much more to get the same battery.
@@shanwan5683 that’s a bs take. Most of Tesla’s batteries come from CATL, and they also make some of their batteries in-house. And their best-in-class thermal management system and other efficiencies means for the same battery you get a higher range and the batteries have to get charged. Who has the best charging infrastructure? Exactly, Tesla.
first
That's not "batman" wheels
I will pay for this car if I have the money
Everything is expensive in Singapore
Tesla is expensive. Best regards from Egypt.
Stop watching it after the first 10 seconds, you praise BYD dealer lol, this is a public PR not an independent opinion
Chinese is copying. Huawei copy iphone, byd copy tesla
反正你肯定不是抄袭我,因为你比我少了一个脑袋。😂😂😂😂
Amateurs copy, artists steal!
Your script needs to be more concise. I lost interest halfway, too much backstory.
This is way better than Tesla. Design as build is beautiful. Cninese manufactures are awesome right now. Just like smatphones and other electronics. One Plus is great just like BYD is. 💋❣️Love China way of building electronics.
Hi Daren, if you follow @teslaeconomist , he also did a review on the BYD and did a test drive and the clips from the test drive looks horrible with many creaks sounds… did you notice these issues with the BYD?
Hey Tim. No issues for us with our vehicle in Singapore. I was driving the past 3 days without music on as well, and we didn’t notice anything (confirmed with friends & family who rode it).
That was a bias report. This BYD indeed a quiet car but this exclude after a year's time as BYD materials can be of not that high quality. In general the price is steep due to COE. Their prices are quite reasonable all along. Having said that Tesla is still a better choice of cos.
@@lmk928 ok cool to hear that… but the video clips did indeed have those sounds… wondering if that’s because it is cheaper that’s why
@@DarenYoong cool.. that means it is more or less biased but wonder why the clips really reflected so badly on BYD..
Tesla dare to talk about built quality? hohohoho
