@@Andy-df5fj not entirely sure about that... when he runs forward, he is also pushing the whole platform backwards, essentially cancelling the force of one of the persons pushing the platform.
@@aboriani When it comes to force against force, yes.. but when it comes to speed, you can only run so fast.. so by effectively pushing against them, they can push you forward even more. Won't be a huge bonus but I think it is a bonus.
Those who want to criticize the framing of this video please keep in mind I'm using a Kodak Sure Shot inexpensive multi use pocket camera. And I looked away from the view finder at launch because I wanted to experience the moment. Anyway some video beats no video and I am always thrilled to remember this day
The problem would be that the falling if the trolley needs to occur before the airplane takes off from it. I believe some have use team members jumping of the platform to accelerate the plane. Not sure if that is still allowed.
The year is 2189 and the same platform is still in use, but the contest is now about reaching orbit without any engines.

Well duh, with frames made of anti-tungsten causing lift because of course anti-particles work backwards.
Interesting strategy to run on the platform essentially doubling the launch speed.
no he just couldn't run that fast because of air resistance
@@catsonbebop
True, so "doubling" would be an overestimate, but there is definitely some added bonus.
Walk, don't stand, on an escalator.

Damn, whoever is holding that camera got more footage of the water then the damn thing flying
Yeah, it was really bad...
Coz he was enjoying it :)
At least we got a nice view of the guy's hat

Dude had one job...
Well, at least it wasn't filmed in portrait.
Might've seen more if it was
Dude had one job to do and still fucked it up!

it's been scientifically proven that the dance in the beginning added 12 and 1/2 meters to the total overall flight distance

You’re good man. I’d be more interested in seeing it with my own eyes as well lol
Bro ignore them, pretty much everyone on the internet is brain dead
Some people don't understand the value of actually looking at the event with one's own eyes.
It's Brilliant, never noticed anything wrong. Thank you!
Should have filmed in portrait.
Nice camera work!
Some experienced AeroSpace Engineers designed that
And
And don’t be a douche? Too late.
Yup, center of lift and CoG were key here. Looks like they got it pretty much perfect.
0:59.....awesome idea for more take off speed.
Of all the people there and that's the best video you could post
Just imagine how much further they could get if they could use the mass of the falling trolley to speed up the wing
Unless you can convert it into forward energy, wouldn't it just pull it down?

Start at 1:03 your welcome
No thanks, would not wanna miss that epic dance.
Only issue, before you find that comment, you already watched the 1min
cept the pilot hesitated and didnt take full advantage of in effect doubling the takeoff speed, so flight could have been even further. nice job tho 👍
Me:
As soon as he jumped, what did you see?
RUclips audience: Water!!
1:05 Pans the camera down because they're expecting them crash like most competitors 🤣🤣
Great video of the crowd. Where do I go to see a video of the record flight?
Specsavers. 🤓
That's not important....
i think the camera was attached to a dogs' tail
😂😂😂😂😂😅
"This thing is gonna fly ,I think"
Camraman is just unreal.... really just quite sumthing.. o my god.....
Once again, a video is struck down by the curse of the zoom button. The camera man, Al K. Hall, should've known better!
The dance, gotta be 7 and up. They practiced at least 3 or 4 times
That’s one mild crowd
Very good considering that they did not use a high platform
No one commented on the crane in the back lifting a contestant's crashed entry into a set of demolition dumpsters.....
These guys just invented a glider 😂
Remarkable fly. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🍕🍕🍕🎯🎯🎯
Great camera work.
Im impressed that the dude recording the flight could do so while simultaneously bouncing on a pogo stick
Quand on ne sait pas filmer, on fait pas des vidéos!

WOW!! They came to FLY!
apapun makanannya, RedBull minumannya..
Glad they finally ran
The whole point is to build Homer Simpson or a big ol pig and stuff and dump it into the river, then some kids go and build an actual glider...
I loved their dancing
Amazing!!! 😃❤️
Brought to you by KFC
The Germans used a catapult for launching theirs probably could’ve went even further given how good the aerodynamic qualities where.

A simpler time. 2013 was a good year
Who is growling like a Wookie? LMFAO!!
That is how I would have design one. love it. Pretty Cool.
Best flight, worst cameraman
you was filming a failure, but nope
Terrible camera work
